“What's your name?”

“Amelia.” She said bowing her head her eyes popped out like a reservoir that's preparing to lose control. Damien stood up and walked around her

He scoffed and rubbed his hand through her hair inhaling every scent he got.

“Look at me Amelia,” he lifted up her chin, I'm your alpha now and you listen to me.You do that and you get to stay out of the dungeon but if you don't, then you stay in their till you're ready to listen”

“Stop doing that thing.” Amelia responded

“Stop doing what? He said sternly

Amelia, not minding how his voice affects her, replied instantly.“That thing you do to look cruel.”

She knows he's her second chance mate. Why does he have to act cold?

“You've become so comfortable telling me what to do.” he picked her up from the chair and dragged her to the entrance of the door.

“Ethan.” Damien called out.

“Yes Alpha.”

“Get her out of here and take her back to the dungeon. Her time to be treated well is up.”

“No, no, please don't do this again Damien. I promise to listen to you.

He yielded not to her voice.

------

“She's somehow bold to talk back at you, Damien.”

“Oh don't mention it.”

“Well, she's your mate.”

“Don't look at me like that. You look at her just the way you looked at Keila.”

“Stop it.”he growled

“ Even their names match a bit.”

“I said stop it.” His voice echoed through the passages.

“I guess that's why you're vulnerable when it comes to her.”

“Ethan one more word and I'll send you to the heavens.”

“I'm sorry but we have a war to plan and you're all about this girl.”

“So it's about the attack.” Damien slipped his hand in a hole by the side of his dress and out with his knife. He rubbed the tip of his finger at the edge and looked at Ethan's face.

“Alpha, she's not breathing.” A pack member in charge of the prison ran in with fear all over his eyes.

Damien ran out immediately and went fast as he could and ordered to take her to the infirmary with a quick check. His mind was overwhelmed with fear as he couldn't bear the thought of losing Amelia.

The sterile scent of disinfectant hung thick in the air as Damien walked through the infirmary's double doors. His footsteps echoed against the tiled floor, drawing the attention of nurses and patients alike. Ignoring the curious glances, he fixed his gaze on the end of the room where a familiar figure lay straight up on the bed. His heart raced as he moved closer.

Amelia, her face pale and drawn, turned her head as he approached, surprise wavering in her eyes before she placed her expression into neutrality. "Damien," she greeted, her voice strained but polite. "What brings you here? I thought you should be in your heartless form"

“Amelia, stop it.”

“Hmm I expected that.”

He halted beside her bed, his presence looming over her like a protective shadow. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

Amelia's lips twitched with a hint of a smile, though it didn't quite reach her tired eyes. "I appreciate the concern," she murmured, shifting uncomfortably against the pillows. "But I'll be fine. It's just a sprained ankle and I'm fine now."

“And that's because you tried to run again

Damien's brow filled with worry. "You shouldn't downplay your injuries," he admonished gently. "You took a hard hit out there."

"I've had worse," she dismissed with a dismissive wave of her hand, though a wince betrayed her bravado.

He sighed, reaching out to brush a strand of hair away from her face. "You're stubborn, you know that?"

Amelia's gaze softened at the gentle touch, her mask slipping for a moment to reveal vulnerability beneath. "I learned from the best," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

Silence enveloped them, punctuated only by the steady beep of machines monitoring her vital signs. Damien's fingers lingered against her cheek, his touch warm against her cool skin.

"Thank you," she said suddenly, her voice hoarse with emotion. "For coming here. For caring."

His expression softened, a rare tenderness in his eyes as he met her gaze. "Always," he murmured, his voice barely audible over the hum of the machines. “Don't try to run again, Amelia."

A flicker of something indefinable passed between them, Damien could only see Keila inside of her. They shared the same scent and it made a part of him weak. In that moment, amidst the antiseptic scent of the infirmary and the beeping of monitors, he knew their souls were bound with fate but he didn't want a mate anymore. Not even a stranger he picked from the woods who he doesn't even know where she came from.

“Alpha.”

Damien looked back to see who.

“She's ready to go.” The lady in a fine blue gown said to him softly.

Amelia without giving it a second doubt stood up immediately, gave Damien a smile and walked out of the room.

“Sure she's okay now.”

“Yes.”

“If anything goes wrong with her I'll make sure to relieve you of your duty here in the infirmary and on earth.”

The nurse stepped back and bowed her head.

Damien and Amelia walked out of the infirmary. The bright night gives a cold drift to their bodies. They walked into the pack house, Amelia drawing close to the room and locked the door behind her.

In a few minutes Damien saw her out in the open. His mind shifted from fierceness to calmness.

“My mind's tricking me.” He said winking his eyes.

“A beautiful night it is isn't it? Amelia said walking close to him

“Yeah it's beautiful,”he said, indicating not interested.

“Thanks once again.”

He coughed. “Just don't try to run away”

“I already promised to listen to you.”

Damien leaned closer, his hand on her hair,

“Good girl.”

Damien was lost in the thoughts of the night he had with Amelia. He could remember the way he flipped his hand round her waist. He saw her in her wolf form and it strengthened the scent he had control over once. He was moved with her glow in the dark night and her soft ash eye. Her beauty he noticed at that moment and walked towards her himself. Amelia stared at him as he moved close to her “You've suffered so much yet you still look beautiful under the night sky.” He whispered in her hears.“You're drunk Damien.”“No I'm not.” He said flipping her hair back and forth. He took her hands and watched her reaction. He has longed to move closer to her so close. He lifted her up from the corridor and took her to his room.Amelia wondered how she didn't stop him. Is it because she suddenly felt wanted?Damien had her head in his hands holding it and rubbing his palm on her cheeks. He sniffed her and her scent got him held. He dropped his hands

Amelia’s POV “Oh! Really? Really? You think you can just come in here and do whatever you want, have you forgotten I’m the alpha and you have to listen to me? Amelia, get your butt out of here.” Damien spout angrily. His voice beckons fury, I could feel the whole room tremble, Ethan could not do anything and I just stood still maintaining my order before things go wrong again. Damien took a few steps close to me, in his bathrobe, looking so handsome, and with each step he took it was pleasing and enticing. I almost forgot his fierce words, and that stopped when he finally got to me. “Didn’t you hear me? Get out and back to where you should be, and one more unnecessary act, I’m throwing you into a punishment that you will regret ever talking back at me.” I shivered at his words, maybe I made a mistake trying to talk him into releasing me. He never will, I guess. I mean, I feel so stuck, I want to stay and I can’t even make my own choices around here. I feel so suffocated. “You

Damien’s POV The sight of her not being in the room ached me, I don’t know why I felt like she’d run away. And her absence in this room turned me off. “Where the hell did she go to?” My hands flipped the mirror down, breaking it into pieces. My fury rose not seeing her immediately. It took about thirty minutes before Ethan showed up. “Without her? I swear, she’ll regret doing this!” “Calm down, my lord. She was just having fun with one of the damsels around.” “What are you saying? I want to see her here right now.” I took his hands, and said slowly and slowly. Ethan might have been the only one who has seen my miserability, His face comforts me, my childhood friend does a great deal as he shows love, and comforts me. “I’ll bring her here now.” “Yes, please. Do so.” Ethan left the room swiftly and I sat quietly on the bed waiting for this girl that tortures me with her disappearance. “My Lord, I’m so sorry. Amelia’s POVThe morning came so swiftly, I felt like I hadn't had any sleep. Her voice brought me up from my sleep.“Rise and shine, you have to start getting ready.”“Did he tell you to do this too?”“No, but he might have. He told me to get you ready by sunset today.”“I see.”“Come on, you’ll be fine.” She encouraged me like I had last night. Cassie’s presence has given me a lot of risen feelings to stay and get used to the pack house interests. I might have learnt a thing or two, like giggling and ignoring the crippled arrogance. We rode through the dark cold night, my face felt so pale and argued. I watched the silence fading with Ethan’s voice over my head.“Are you okay?” His face looked so questioning and quite different from the real question he asked me. I just sniffed the blunt air and ignored him like he had ignored me all through. I’m not suffering that hard, I just couldn’t compare the hard feelings I’ll get if I was actually back at home. Ethan gave Damien a curious look, waiting for his answer. He was sure he’d accept her but Damien was quite unpredictable and made his decision as he wanted to. “I can’t say yet, I may give her a chance but not sooner. I can’t risk the pack in the hands of a fragile Luna. One that will stay and not run like my mum did. “You mean someone that will be able to fight alongside you?” “Yeah, a bit of Keila’s affectionate and concerned behavior.” “Amelia looks comfortable here though, have you asked her yet? “Ask her what?” “What she was doing behind that tree that night we were on patrol.” “I have, she refused to say.” Ethan gave a faint smile causing Damien to turn to him strongly. “Do you know why she’s not talking?” “Not so, but you’ve not given her the chance to speak on that and you’ve claimed her.” “If I lose a captive, I lose ten percent of my respect. No one dares to trespass into our pack. That is a rule everyone knows.” Damien said with a firm utterance, like

Amelia's PovI watched Damien closely, my heart racing as I saw the glow in his eyes slowly calm again. His breathing became more regular, and the tension in the room lifted slightly. The way his gaze softened almost made me forget the chaos that had just unfolded. But we both know that couldn't happen. He stood up as if nothing had happened, like he hadn't just nearly lost control, like I hadn't nearly lost him. My heart was beating fast in my chest, and I felt my anger bubbling up. "Damien!" I couldn’t hold it in anymore. "Why are you acting like nothing happened?” I asked, my anger was clear. “I'm sure Ethan has packed the necessary things. And has Cassie gotten you ready? You should know we are leaving.” He said, moving round the room, his eyes moved all through the parts of the room and I watched him panic. “What are you doing? Why are you just ignoring everything? You can’t just knock out like that and expect me to forget it! What the hell is going on with you?" I was so

Amelia's Pov My hands were shaking as I helped Damien onto the bed. He was completely down and asleep, or so I thought. Blood soaked his clothes, the deep stains spreading across his chest, and I could only imagine how bad his wounds must be. His skin was pale, too pale. His breathing was shallow, and I had to remind myself that he was still alive, still here. I couldn’t lose him.Cassie stood in the corner of the room, her eyes wide, her body rigid. She looked almost... terrified, as if something far worse was on the horizon. But I didn’t have time to focus on her right now. I quickly unbuttoned his shirt, pulling it away from his body, trying to keep my hands steady as I cleaned him off. His body was still warm, but the blood that covered him made it feel like he was slipping away. I wiped away the stains as best I could, taking great care not to cause him any pain. He was unconscious, but I didn’t want to take any chances. The blood was drying fast, and I worked frantically,

Amelia's Pov I could feel Damien’s intense gaze on me, his dark eyes piercing through me as if he were trying to figure out what I was saying. He didn’t speak, but I could see the storm brewing inside of him. I had just told him that I didn’t want to become Luna, something I thought I meant at the time, but now, as I looked at him, I wasn’t so sure anymore. Before I could even process my own emotions, Ethan burst into the room, looking so sharp and frantic. “Sapphira’s gone,” he said, his words crashing into the silence.Damien’s face twisted in horror as he shot up from his seat, his body tense with panic. “What do you mean, gone?” he yelled, his voice filled with panic. “Why wasn’t she stopped?!” His words were laced with anger, his fists clenched as he stormed towards the door, shoving past the guards. His movements were wild, desperate, like a man unraveling before my eyes.I watched him in stunned silence as he slapped the guards’ faces, his actions harsh and without mercy. His

Sapphira’s PovI should have known it wouldn't be easy with Damien. I should have just killed her rather than take things easy with her. My heart hurt and I felt my gut screaming failure. The scenes came back in a flash and I yelled. “I'm not giving up on you, Amelia. We've started this, and we'll both end it.” I whispered in such despair. What could have been better than taking what I deserved? Kept and separated from the life I should own, only to come back and find it gifted to someone else. I couldn't stand living my life up to someone else's. Especially not Amelia, she had everything, I didn't even get a mate, and no one knew I was part of the silver moon pack. Staring at the walls that I was locked up in, I should have known Damien wouldn’t take things lightly. I should have planned better. I should have had a backup escape route. But no, I was too caught up in my own arrogance, thinking I could handle him, thinking I could break Amelia before he even had the chance to strik

Amelia’s PovPain was the only thing I could feel, it hadn't been a while since my life had felt that. Damien never let that happen, with his fierce eye gaze and harsh words but love deep in his heart for me. I saw it, I saw his eyes, the care and the concern. I saw it all there, how did I miss that? If he truly loved me, I should have seen that properly. I did see it, but I didn't want to hurt myself. Everything just got too far as I've seen what I needed, to be strong. I groaned, my body trembling as I tried to lift my arms. My wrists burned from the silver chains, the cuts were deep and raw. My fingers fumbled with the dagger Damien had thrown to me, and my hands were slick with blood. Every movement sent a jolt of agony through my body, but I gritted my teeth, refusing to give up. If anything I needed to survive this and take back what I own."Come on," I muttered under my breath, trying to steady my shaking hands. With a sharp inhale, I tightened my grip and sawed at the r

Damien’s PovMy heart pounded as I stepped forward, my senses heightened, every instinct screaming that I was walking into a trap. And I was right. The moment my foot crossed the boundary, a surge of power shot up around me. A barrier. Before I could react, figures emerged from the darkness, their eyes glowed with malice. The forces of the Silver Frost Pack surrounded me in an instant, their weapons drawn, their snarls echoing in the cold night air. Amelia laid on the floor, her body limp, her face battered and bruised. Blood smeared her pale skin, and her wrists were bound tightly with silver chains, her breath coming in shallow gasps. She lifted her head weakly, her eyes finding mine, filled with desperation. "Damien…" she whispered. "Please… save me." A sharp pain tore through my chest at the sight of her so helpless. My hands clenched into fists. If only I had trained her longer. If only I had prepared her for the dangers that lurked outside the pack. She was strong, b

Damien’s PovTrembling in the middle of everything, I knew I had made a grave mistake. I should have never let Sapphira stay. She was nothing but trouble, a seed of mayhem that had taken root in my pack and sprouted into chaos. I sucked in a breath, my eyes scanning the battlefield, searching for any trace of Amelia. I couldn't afford to lose her ever. “You all should scatter around and find her! Find her and bring her back to me, alive!” I roared, my voice cutting through the night like a blade. My warriors flinched but obeyed immediately, shifting and dashing into the darkness, their noses to the ground. My pulse pounded in my ears, my body tense with rage. Whoever took her would pay. They would seek death and would not find it. I clenched my fists, my claws digging into my palms. I was losing control. Again. The scent of blood filled the air, the ground soaked with the lives of my warriors. I felt sick. This was all too familiar, too much like the past. I had ignored my

Amelia’s Pov I opened my eyes slowly, the faint light stung as it came in through the window. For a moment, I thought I was back in my room at Darkmoon Pack. The space looked familiar, beautiful, warm, and inviting. But something was off. The bed felt too firm, the scent in the air unfamiliar. I sat up cautiously, my heartbeat quickening. This wasn’t my room. It was a replica, but not quite right. My hands trembled as I ran them over the soft sheets. Before I could gather my thoughts, the door creaked open, and a large figure stepped inside. “Amelia,” a deep voice said, one that sent chills down my spine. I froze. That voice… it couldn’t be. “It’s been months,” I whispered, “Uncle?” He stepped fully into the room, I thought I’d left behind forever when I ran from Silver Frost Pack. “Surprised to see me?” he asked. “What are you doing here? Why would you kidnap me? If my father asked you to look for me, at least do it in a polite way, right?” I demanded, trying t

Damien’s Pov Why would she do that? Why would she run just because of a mere necklace, what was she hiding that was so crucial? My mind replayed every detail of her absurd behavior. It didn’t make sense, none of it did. Why was she so determined to run off, all because of a necklace? A simple, insignificant trinket. I clenched my fists, trying to suppress the rising frustration inside of me. It had been a full day since she locked herself away, and I still didn’t have answers. She refused to see me, refused to eat, refused to give me even the slightest explanation. I even tried to make her eat and sent her words to just see me and I wouldn't hurt her, but every passing moment only deepened my unease. She never came out. I made my way out and got to talk to Cassie. She was the only one that could help get her out. As far as I was concerned she was the only one who could talk and listen to Amelia. “Cassie,” I said, my voice filled with so much worry, “have you been to see Ameli
