Alfred and the Eclipse warriors left for Knight Pack mid-afternoon as Chris had instructed them. He led the charge, flanked by some trusted lieutenants. The warriors moved in silence, the only sound the rhythmic thud of their boots against the soft earth. They knew what awaited them—Chris had briefed them thoroughly. The ambush was to be swift, and brutal if necessary, but they all hoped for a quick surrender to minimize bloodshed.

By the time they reached the border where Chris and Alpha Kai were waiting it was already dark; the only light they had came from the full moon.

"You made it," Chris said, his voice low and steady. "Are the warriors ready?"

Alfred glanced back at his men, each one standing at attention, their faces unreadable beneath the shadows of their helmets. "We’re ready. Just say the word."
