LIAM’S POV.

“Mendy! Mendy! Where are you?’ I continuously called her out as I went outside the compound of my house. I searched the backyard to check if she was in there, but to my utmost surprise, she wasn’t there at all.

I kept searching every corner of the house to check if she dropped any letters at all before heading outside of the house. I searched carefully without any limiting factor weighing me down.

"I hope she hasn't gone to attack Chloe. I hope she isn’t planning to do anything dangerous that could tarnish my image in the pack." I spoke to my inner child as I flooded my mind with different thoughts.

I pushed the door of my sitting room open and went to go make coffee to start my day properly before I heard footsteps coming from the end of the door. I turned and saw Mendy with some luggage on her back and on her hand. From the look of things, she looked very distressed and palpable as she stood at the entrance of the door.

I dropped the glass cup of coffee I had in my hands

I hate that he’s so naive, gullible & ignorant, especially in his position. And she is a spiteful, hateful character! Absolutely nothing to like about her!

As I entered, almost everyone was murmuring with their fellow mates and their fellow people in the packs, wondering who I was.“Who is she? What exactly is she doing in this pack?” One of the wolves spoke in a lower tone as she looked at me with a disgusted look.“What if she is the one betrothed to Alpha Jax? Or, what if she wants to come and snatch our one and only handsome Alpha Jax away from us?” Another one spoke, as she was scared of losing her crush to another woman.Ignoring the speculative glances and whispers, I focused on the task at hand—packing my belongings. Chloe’s POV"Alpha Jax, what happened?" I asked, rushing to his side.As I reached him, I fell to my knees, my hands grabbing his arms. His body was burning up, yet he was shivering like a soul trapped inside a freezer."Alpha Jax," I murmured, frantically thinking of a way to save him. Did I even know the nature of his sickness? His face looked pale, his lips were trembling, and his eyes were shut tight. It seemed like he was about to have a seizure at any moment.I couldn't let him die. If Alpha Jax died now, everything would go bankrupt. I pleaded, "Please wake up, open your eyes," tears welling up in my eyes. I couldn't afford to lose him.I touched the blanket covering his body, and it was as if the cloth was soaked through, feeling damp and cold."What’s happening? I can’t even think of a way to cure his sickness. His body is hot, but he's shaking with cold, and the blanket he used was wet with his own sweat. My mind is racing as I search for a way to bring him back to normal. I

Chloe’s POV His words kept ringing in my head, how the hell would he tell me to get out of his room after treating him? If not for me, he would’ve still been lying down lifeless, or probably he would’ve died by now. “Are you telling me to get out of your room?” I repeated and he wiggled his head in approval. As I keep glaring at him dangerously my heart limps my flesh and the regression of saving him Tear me apart. “Yes I mean it, so stand up and get out” he repeated and I stood furiously storming out of his room to mine. On walking there my eyes fixed on space while my mind thought of a way to get back at him. How dare he Send me out of his room after giving him a full treatment? If not for me he would’ve been miserable by now. “He’s so ungrateful after treating him he can only send me out of his room” I scoffed finally getting to my room and I banged the door loudly. Falling heavily on the bed while a loud groan escaped my mouth. My mind pinpointed the injury on my legs and

Jax’s POV I sat down on the bed, my eyes stuck on the wall, glaring at it angrily. I kept wondering what herbs she had used for me. Before, I had to endure the sickness for almost five to four hours before it relieved me, but today, I only spent up to thirty minutes in bed. If only she could open her mouth and tell me the herbs she preserved for me. I stood up with a mix of emotions, thinking of a way to lure her closer and gain some knowledge about the herbs. But She seemed so stubborn; even if I tried to persuade her, I knew she wouldn’t tell me. Inhaling and exhaling louder, I stepped out of my room feeling my energy coming back to me. This was my first time recovering and gaining so much strength within some period. My foot directed me to the way to the kitchen, and I couldn’t help but wonder why my mind kept pushing me toward where the kitchen was. I don’t have any work I have there, but since my mind wants me there, then I will listen. I walked toward the kitchen, then I heard

You just said the moon goddess has blessed me with a new mate," I said, hearing him take a deep breath."Yes, that's right, the moon goddess has blessed you with another mate, but I'm worried you won't be able to find her because of the curse on your body," Ryan said, causing my eyes to widen in alarm."What do you mean by that?" My eyes were focused on what was more necessary than just waiting for answers My wolf package hard time believe it that it was probably just poison. It's substance was not mentioned and that was a huge red flag on its own. Someone had to explain to me in layman's term why the autopsy results didn't reveal anything favorable. There were a lot of things to think about but one of the things that stood out for me was the way the scientist switched carefully while staring at me. This was an explanation that could not be done without and I was expecting more. Scott glanced at me as though we shared the same sentence and he coughed. The insane amount of mishaps that had come into her life the past few days was not to be reckoned with, and she felt like there had to be a means of tackling this without feeling weak or weary from any angle. Her kids didn't even think that their actions had a long-lasting impact. She picked up my phone to call Scott, "what is happening." Liam was less concerned with what was happening, so she needed to get my answers myself. "I don't want you to think so much about everything that has been going on because it's not going to help either of us, but there is only one way that we can achieve our goals, which is by waiting for the result. Then I would know what to do." Scott said. Chloe didn't understand why he was wasting so much time confronting their sister when it was almost getting clear that her father had been murdered, prob

Instead, it was only her next move. Evil when she's poked against, she's poked against close powerful. I could see the way things began to drum in a sarcastic manner. I believed that everything was going to work out for good, but at the same time, I needed to be as careful as I should. I stopped in front of his room and contemplated how my next statement was going to affect him. I needed new people to understand the mood of the population and abide by it, not those who are ready to change me at every cost. Without him clamoring to have some sort of land or power to himself it's made everyone appear in their natural state just to make it very relatable. She was the only person that I trusted too much to call me about what was happening. As soon as I headed into the room, I didn't understand what was going on at first but decided to take a deep breath just to see what was happening. I pushed the door open and so Aria hooked up with different drips running through her veins, looking pale. My heart skipped a bit as I rushed her to her side. Ignoring Liam, who was sitting beside her and looking at me as though I was the devil spawn, I looked at her and back at him. "What happened to her?" "You went away for so long and appeared out of nowhere to ask what happened to her. How interesting!" I shut my eyes in shock. This was absolutely not what I was looking for. I needed something very important, such as a damn reason why this was happening. "Apparently I think that you didn't he

My dad sat on the chair in front of me watching carefully, as I progressed towards where he was sitting and also looking carefully. "You are unhappy. I can feel it. Why is that?" I knew that if I opened my mouth to start speaking immediately I would burst into tears, uncontrollable ones at that. My eyes welled up with tears but I realized that for me to continue this way it was going to make me look even more weak. "I wanted to report certain things to you. I need you to call Mendy. She has been getting on my nerves for so long now and I would appreciate it if you called her to order. She isn't a lost cause yet until we agree that she is not worth it." Things were getting out of hand and it was only imperative that she found a means of nipping it in the bud. "Hi, how are you guys doing today?" She asked the kids as soon as they entered the class.
