Chloe’s POV

"Alpha Jax, what happened?" I asked, rushing to his side.

As I reached him, I fell to my knees, my hands grabbing his arms. His body was burning up, yet he was shivering like a soul trapped inside a freezer.

"Alpha Jax," I murmured, frantically thinking of a way to save him. Did I even know the nature of his sickness?

His face looked pale, his lips were trembling, and his eyes were shut tight. It seemed like he was about to have a seizure at any moment.

I couldn't let him die. If Alpha Jax died now, everything would go bankrupt. I pleaded, "Please wake up, open your eyes," tears welling up in my eyes. I couldn't afford to lose him.

I touched the blanket covering his body, and it was as if the cloth was soaked through, feeling damp and cold.

"What’s happening? I can’t even think of a way to cure his sickness. His body is hot, but he's shaking with cold, and the blanket he used was wet with his own sweat.

My mind is racing as I search for a way to bring him back to normal. I
