Chapter 128

Liam's POV.

"Babe, you've got to come over tonight. It has been a long time since we have bonded like a true couple. Sometimes I wonder if you still want me in your life anymore." Mendy whined over the phone making me a little bit worried, even though I had a lot of things on my plate I wouldn't turn down her invitation for anything else in the world especially after sealing my deal with Brandon.

There was absolutely no reason for me to be mad at her no matter how much Chloe tried, "I've just been very busy at work. I would reach out to you as soon as I am done. And then we can have a deal. I'm sure you would love that right?*

"Well I don't know? Sometimes I feel like you don't want my company anymore and it is quite amazing how I have to do a lot of convincing just to get to you on my side. It was never like that in the beginning, what the hell happened?"

Her accusation brought pain to my subconscious as I figured out that I had been a badly behaved love interest.

Chapter 129. Two weeks later, Author's POV. Liam waited at the bench where he and Mendy had agreed to meet under a shade where no one would be able to trace them. It was time to take Aria and Asher to a place where they would forever be in Bliss and not the mess that they had gotten entangled in simply because of the kind of mother they had. It was a little bit secluded just like he had wanted and giving him the privacy to rethink the decision he had taken but at the same time also knocking it off the park. If anyone wanted to judge him they could go ahead. His phone rang, signaling that his ally had reached out to him. "So, what is all of this about? Do you really think that there would be any kind of disappointment whatsoever on the last day? Or do you really think that would be a time where I would lose the ability to come up with ingenious ideas?" Mendy asked in a coded manner. She couldn't just go straight to the point in case anyone was overhearing their conversation. "

Chloe's POVIn the MayHill pack, being a white wolf is a curse, and that fact took a great toll on me. I had my white wolf at the age of six, but I kept her hidden because I would have been referred to as a freak if anyone had found out. I wasn't ready to face such scrutiny and become an outcast among my peers.“Chloe.” A voice called from downstairs, and I knew from its tone that it was none other than my grandma. She was the one person who loved me dearly, the only person who knew that I had a white wolf.“Grandma! I need to sleep more,” I groaned as I rolled from one end of the bed to another, my body still feeling the need for a long sleep.“Today is your birthday, Chloe, so get up already!” From the high pitch of her voice, I knew she was closer to my room.“I'm still feeling sleepy, grandma! Just give me ten minutes, and I will be downstairs immediately,” I said, but the door to my room burst open, revealing my grandmother, whose face was glowing red with anger.“Get up right no

Chloe's povI was expecting him to feel remorseful for what he had done, but there was no sign of remorse on his face as he stared at me blankly."Liam," I called again, and Mendy rolled her eyes at me, and my eyes dilated in shock.Mendy knew I was his mate, yet she chose to seduce him.I had never thought of seducing any of Mendy's boyfriends, but here she was kissing my mate in front of me. What a shame!"Liam, do you know that I am your mate?" I asked slowly, and he stared at me with a look I couldn't fathom, but I knew it wasn't a good look or a remorseful one either.“Yes, I know." He dropped the bombshell as if I were being stabbed with an arrow. My heart shattered into thousands of pieces, and I almost lost my balance. My knees wobbled, and when they couldn't support my weight any longer, I fell helplessly on the ground as tears streamed down my eyes, smearing my makeup."I know that you're my mate, but do you expect me to accept a weak she-wolf like you? Chloe's POV “Dad, that's not true. Liam is my mate!” I argued, but my dad turned and glared at me, making me shut my mouth. With one last glance at Liam and Mendy, who were smiling secretly, I ran out of the room in tears, and Lucy and my grandma followed after me. I ran all the way to my room without stopping to catch my breath, and tears slipped my eyes as I reminisced about how Mendy and Liam were kissing, and their kissing scene refused to leave my head as the image kept haunting me every second. Why me?What did I do so wrong to get rejected in such a cruel and painful way?I was just a young girl who was eager to meet her mate and live happily with him, but all my hopes were cut short by the scene I saw between Mendy and Liam a few minutes ago.Lucy ran into my room and pulled me into another comforting hug.“You will be fine, dear friend; Liam doesn't deserve you.” Lucy consoled me as I cried on her shoulder, my tears wetting her dress, but she didn't mind.“Chloe, stop crying

Liam POVAfter leaving Chloe's house yesterday with Mendy, we headed to the pack house and slept there until this morning. The morning sun slipped through the curtains and penetrated straight into my eyes, which made me groan slightly and open my eyes slowly.I turned to my left hand and saw Mendy sleeping peacefully in my arms like a baby, and I smiled. I never really regretted rejecting Chloe for Mendy; she's a weak girl who doesn't have a wolf, and I can't let such a person be the Luna of my pack, and, moreover, I don't love her, so I had to reject her. When I rejected Chloe and she fell to the ground, wailing in pain, I almost regretted my decision, but it was already done; there's no use crying over spilled milk, and she's not meant to be my Luna.I did that for the sake of the MayHill pack; I can't afford to make a weakling my mate and end up getting all the members of my pack killed.I was still dwelling in my thoughts when I heard a light groan, and I snapped out of my thought

Now, see the mess I've caused her family and the hatred they all have for me. If not for anyone else, at least for the sake of her grandmother, whom Chile cherishes so much, I need to find her and bring her back so that her grandma can smile and be happy.I walked away from Chloe's father's house, burdened by guilt and with a deep sense of desperation etched across my face. The weight of my actions bore heavily on me as I replayed the events that led to the fracture of Chloe's heart. Chapter 127. Author's POV. As soon as Sophia dropped the kids off at school, she didn't waste any more time in heading over to Mendy's house. She was supposed to be back in a few minutes and she as hell wanted everything to be done accordingly so she could get the hair out of this place and stop wasting her time and energy trying to figure out how she could please Mendy. Mendy had not given her the spare keys, which made her a little bit worried for herself. What if somebody found her lurking outside of a supposed foe's apartment. Then she would have to spend the whole time convincing everyone that she had absolutely no idea of what she was doing here even though it was a blatant lie. She picked up her phone and immediately reached out to Mendy. It wasn't supposed to take so long and she had been assured that there was a way she could get in without anyone finding out. Mendy picked up the next minute smiling when she saw her friend's call. She should have figured out that the

Chapter 126.Chloe's POV. I watched Liam rush out of the house the next morning, looking unkempt, before I could come out he had already swung out of the garage. "You don't need to worry about him, just need to intensify the dosage, and then you will see the effects already."I took a deep breath as I turned it to stare at my newly found friend who was a blessing in disguise. Sophia stood in front of me with a reassuring smile that had me thinking of something else entirely but focusing on the major reason I was here. I should have known that they would be a little hiccup and prepared for it so that I wouldn't get caught unaware. "Yeah, right. I shouldn't think that the staff should start working almost immediately right?" Even though I said the words that she wanted me to hear I couldn't help but feel disheartened deep down. "Oh, alright. I don't care about anything else but what we can achieve out of this. I've got more than enough reason to be angry or even thinking about how

Chapter 125. Author's POV. Sophia watched the interaction from the top of the stairs with so much anticipation, she could already see how this would end and couldn't be more proud of herself that she carried out this mission without any scratch. Not wanting to look like she had an ulterior motive, she waited for some minutes before coming into the kitchen to help her friend with her decision. The kind of person that Chloe was could end up changing her mind at the last minute and that would destroy everything she had worked for so long and she was going to take that chance with this woman in front of her. "Why don't you drop it in already? I think this is the best time when nobody can point fingers at you and they wouldn't have to also serve him?" She's suggested. Chloe was startled, causing the ceramic cup to crash to the ground as she tried to figure out what next."Oh, is that so? "I believe that this is something completely different. I inquired from her, inspecting the bottle from back to front. Sophia let out a soft chuckle, "of course I know because I have a background in medicine. I wouldn't really call it that because not everyone who tries their hands at many things, has an idea of what this might be, but whatever the case may be, I guess we don't have to worry our heads about anything.""Yeah, right. So what am I supposed to do with it?" I asked, trying to sniff it to see if I would understand a thing happening here, but it didn't work."You are supposed to just pour in a drop in his tea or coffee so that it works slowly. If you do this consecutively for fourteen days, this might help you to get rid of whatever has settled down in it to his subconscious." She explained to me. How long would it take for mendy to cross over from her house to this arena? Was she hoping that she got caught by Chloe? Mendy arrived with the rustling of bushes as her boots scrunched through them. “I'm sorry for the delay. I needed to sort out a few things so that I didn't get caught. I hope that no one saw you when you were leaving.” “Can we abandon that and move to the reason we are here? I have been able to get her to trust me, what is the next step?” Sophia caught Mendy off. “You shouldn't speak to me in that manner just because you are doing me a favor. In case you have forgotten, you should be thankful that I gave you this opportunity.” “As if I am doing this for you.” Sophia thought inside of her but wouldn't dare utter those words so that she didn't sound opportunistic and make Mendy suspicious. “I apologize, I am on
