KALILA’S POV

Ares stepped into the living room in the evening and Wendy emerged from the stairs. I was watching Ares’s reaction with utmost interest and I could tell that he was stunned by her sudden presence.

“Wendy? What are you doing here again?” He asked, shooting a glance at me, then staring back at her.

“Oh come on, Ares, don’t sound so disappointed.” She said with a hint of annoyance.

“I know I am.” I remarked bluntly and she glared at me, but I didn’t spare her a glance.

“It's not that I’m disappointed,” Ares started and I rolled my eyes, why was he trying to make her feel better? Or was he really not disappointed? “But this is just too sudden, what did I tell you about informing me before showing up here?”

“Your phone wasn’t reachable all day.” Wendy said in a childish voice as she sat on a couch.

Ares reached into his pocket and muttered curses under his breath, he had probably kept his phone on silent while the meeting was going on.
