Councilor Zeph's POV

I watched as Bailey was sent home and I was left alone with a heaving Recce and a silent Grey. I braced myself for the worst.

"I told you to stay away from my daughter, you snake."

I scoffed.

"Maybe it's not me that's the problem."

I could feel Recce's anger surging but I stood my ground. He was a dog. All bark and no bite.

"I helped your daughter Recce. Despite our differences, I helped her. I doubt you knew the first thing about getting her wolf back. Our personal strife aside, I care about this pack and I want to help it, especially in the fight against Zane. I have proved that I am worthy of your trust. If I hated you so deeply, I wouldn't have helped your daughter. Doesn't that speak volumes already?"
