Alpha Grey's POVI was up early in the morning. I couldn't sleep a wink last night. I was thinking about all that Recce and Bailey had said to me over the phone. I missed her so much and I couldn't wait to get home and see her. I was trying my best not to distract her as her final exams were fast approachinng and I wanted her to do well as she had always been doing. I thought about what I had said to Recce about marking Bailey after her final exam and I knew that he wasn't comfortbable with it. He had every right to be; he was her father and I knew that he was only looking out for her like every good father should. But then again, maybe I should give Bailey more time. The thought had be bothering me. Maybe I was actually rushing into things. The most important thing at the moment was stopping Blemish and now that I thought about it, I wouldn't want Bailey to marry me knowing that she could lose me at anytime if Blemish decided to go to war.I stood up from my bed and headed to the wind
Alpha Grey's POV"What! What do you mean by 'the prisoner has escaped'?! How?! When?!"I watched him exhale sadly"I went to interrogate him and..."I immediately flew into rage. I banged my fist on the table and I made a terrible dent in the table. I was definately going to have to replace it now."I strictly and explicitly told you not to interrogate him!""I wanted answers Grey!""And I told you that he had none to give!"I was exassperated and I paced angrily around the room. I couldn't believe that Recce had disobeyed a direct order.I walked back to my desk and sat down angrily. I bent my head low so that Rece couldn't see the glint in my eyes."How did this happen?""I went in the dead of the night to question him. I was trying to strangle the answers out of him. When I dropped him and watched him grovel at my feet, he then threw dust into my eyes and escaped through the cell door that I left open by mistake.""How did he get past the guards?""I asked them to leave their posts
Bailey's POVI spent the rest of the day with Grey. He buried me beneath his body and peppered my entire body with kisses. It was bliss. I couldn't believe I had missed him this much. Soon he stopped and kissed my forehead tentatively."Bailey, I need to get down to some important business."I looked at him with puppy eyes. Why now? I wanted to spend all day wrapped in his arms and hearing his deep voice cooing soothingly in my ears. I didn't want him to go yet."What's it about?"He exhaled aand kissed my lips softly again. I could tell that he was unwilling to let me go either, but then again, duty calls and as the Alpha, he had to answer."I need to set up a meeting with the council about the jewel."Immediately my mind was taken backwards to last night? Dad? Had he told Grey that Miguel had escaped? My face couldn't hide my fear and worry and Grey noticed it immediately."What's wrong Bailey?"I had to lie and I was going to keep my big mouth under control. Dad had really saved me.
Bailey's POVI spent the whole day in my room. It was getting late and dad brought me lunch. I guess he had told mum that he grounded me and gave another very plausible reason. I was hitting the books hard all day and sometimes I would stop to take a nap or play a few games on my phone. Dad hadn't grounded me in a long time and I had forgotten how lonely it was being grounded. I hated it.I looked up at the clock and saw that it was past 5:00pm. I looked out of the window and looked at the forest where dad, the wolves and I had chased Miguel. I wondered if he was alive and suddenly I began to doubt if he had told me the truth. The prophecy sounded bogus and untrue. Maybe he had just made it up to escape? What if he was planining that the whole time?I exhaled and shook the thought out of my head. The look in his eyes seemed so genuine this time. Maybe he was telling the truth. However, the only way that he could be justified is if we could find the mysterious gold and green adorned wol
Bailey's POVI headed down to the kithen and saw that mum had just finished making waffles. The warm smell filled the air and I was happy that I had actually decided to go to school."Finally you are downstairs."I smiled and mum passed me a plate of waffles and gave me some syrup. I poured it all over my waffles and dug in."Where's dad?" I asked with my mouth full.Mum looked at me and smiled."Don't talk with your mouth full and your dad is busy with something. He will see you when you get back from school, darling."I shrugged and contninued to wolf down my breakfast and soon I was done.I was about to whizz out when mum called me back and gave me a little basket."Hold on here Miss Speedy Pants. Give these to Tyler and Katie will you."I took the basket from her and whizzed out of the door as fast as I could and headed down the streets to school. In about twenty minutes, I was there and I went to our hang out and saw Tyler and Katie already there.Tyler and Katie were laughing and
Bailey's POV"The codex is a document that is sacred to those that protect the Sapphire. It is passed down in each generation. The Sapphire, as we all know, gives wolves incredible strength when they are near it but it also has some hidden powers that each Alpha discovers as they interract with the jewel. Zane has discovered the jewel's powers of prophecy, that is if it hasn't already been discovered.""You should really become a teacher.." said Katie as she stared at Tyler dreamily. Tyler had a melodic deep voice when he spoke and even I was lost in it's sonority as he spoke."Thanks. I will consider that, but bact the codex lesson," he said with a smile."The codex is now filled with the discoveries that each Alpah has made about the jewel. When the Alpha dies, he passes the codex down and this continues like so. I asked if Grey gave Zane the codex along with the Sapphire and the answer you gave was no. That means that the reason that Zane hasn't attcaked yet is becasue he is still d
Alpha Grey's POVI had started the day on a very busy note. Inviting the councilors for an emergency meeting was really difficult considering the fact that I had to drag them out of their normal schedules.Recce had not in his best mood. He hated the meetings with the council. It always put him on edge and I couldn't blame him; those old blokes gave me a hard time too. I stood in the mirror looking for the best outfit to wear to the meeting. I wished more than anything that I didn't have to be so busy so that I could spend time with Bailey.I saw her rush out that morning to school from my bedroom window. I wanted her to prepare the best that she could for her final exams. I knotted my tie again and looked at myself in the mirror one last time; I was ready. I exhaled and headed to the council room.I got there and found the members already waiting and they looked serious as usual. I took my seat and they all stood up to greet me.I waved my hand and every one sat down. Recce was at my
Bailey's POVI looked at Grey as he stood at the door post. He wasn't so angry and he wasn't so happy either."Bailey, what was the meaning of that little stunt you pulled back there?"His voice was stern and his eyes were a little hard as well."I'm sorry," I said weakly. He didn't say anything to me, instead, he closed the door and sat beside me on the bed. There was a little space between us and I felt my heart sink. I knew he was angry with me too."'I'm sorry' isn't going to fix the trouble that you're in. I told you to stay away from discussions about the jewel. I told you that I and your father would handle it. But you barged into the council room and that Councilor Zeph took advantage of it to humiliate your dad. I won't lie to you Bailey, but I'm very disappointed in you.""I'm really sorry."I sobbed more and Grey still didn't say anything to me. He just stared at me as I cried my heart out. I managed to collect myself briefly."Where is dad?""Well, I have no idea but he is
