Chapter 157

Miguel's POV

As I ran through the forest, I could hear the wolves snapping viciously behind me, almost at my heels. Beta Recce's cry was the most terrifying of them all. I had barely escaped death's icy clutch. It was scary looking into his eyes and seeing the hate brimming as he grabbed my throat and stranggled the life out of me

I continued to run and once in a while, I could almost feel his hot breath on my neck and his fangs about to bite down on my head. I was weak and I wasn't sure that I could shift into my wolf. The night was an inky black and there was no moon. I had no source to draw my strength from and I had been sparingly fed in a bid to keep me weak and unable to shift and break free.

I ran though the forest and past the twisting trees. I was surprised how I was able to keep ahead of them for so long despite how weak and malnourished I looked. I jumped over a falled tree trunk and thought to lose them in the forest by taking an unexpected turn. They however dogged my move
