Chapter 47

RIFTAN POV

The morning sun came with choking nerves. I hated sitting in one place and not knowing what my Luna was and what she was doing. And the mere fact that I couldn’t connect through to her wolf made me sick to my stomach. Upon realizing my restlessness, Kylek suggested we drive to an open restaurant and sit over a cup of coffee while we wait for my retarded brother to make his grand entry.

The rest of the wolf warriors were stationed at the nearest bars and pubs, waiting for the signal to just explode and raid the Gemini Coven at my command.

I refused to send them back home without a solid plan or reassurance that my mate was indeed going to be rescued from that forsaken place.

“You haven’t touched your coffee,” Kylek noted motioning to the cup of coffee that remained untouched in front of me. I glanced at it before sighing out loud, hating my screaming mind and the loud buzz of liveliness around me.

Why did everyone have to be so normal and happy while

Chapter 48 EDEN POV Raynor probably realized that where subliminal threats and attempts at unsettling me failed to work, pure, barbaric horror would. And kudos to his little strategy; it fuckin worked. I barely slept that night, squirming and turning in bed whenever a sheet grazed my foot. If I had thought maids who had their throats slit open and blood sucked dry from their bodies were terrifying enough, then what I saw during lunch in the noon was enough to kill me clean and square. That had to be cooked straight in the fiery kitchens of satan's abode! The image of the enslaved species milling on the table, naked and vulnerable in front of Raynor and his group of crazies lived rent-free in my head and refused to leave. I found myself wondering about all the impossible, which all ended with two things; Raynor's dead body on the floor and the victims freed! No one was supposed to live like a dog. Absolutely no one. Inara- I can go around and see what I can find. Snoop around

Chapter 49 EDEN POV Blair took me to the room with white marble walls and floor. The room was vast, smelling of antiseptic and chloroform, with the rhythmic beep beep of the heart monitor that sounded more like a clock to an apocalypse. I dreaded carefully as I walked deeper into the room and took in the vastness of it. My senses were on hyperdrive, awareness concentrated in front of me and my adrenalin pouch ready to explode at any time! I was not kidding around when I said the recent happenstances left me PTSDed! My eyes fell on the entity that stood next to one of the machines, and my throat went dry. Raynor Osmond was a king of his world, and he commanded the confidence he knew he possessed. Unlike a heartbeat ago in his office, he was dressed in a black robe with lush, fluffy fur around the neck. The monster who sold boys and girls of all species was replaced by the king in his right. Next to him was another another species, dressed in a white lab coat. She looked more huma

Chapter 50 Khalil POV I must be really crazy, or simply tired of living an empty life. Those were the two conclusions I drew up as I mounted my black beast and soared into the night with the roar of motorbikes filling the night air. The vibrations of the deep rumbles of the engine between my thighs were a living entity, the air fresher to breathe despite the pollution that clogged the sky with mucky, black smoke. The air twirled in my hair like invisible gingers, massaging my beaten-up scalp and the rest of my exhausted body. I felt alive! Even though the idea of storming through the Gemini Coven gates sounded like a one way ticket to hell; I couldn’t bring myself to turn around and disappear into the night. Which- I wouldn't lie- flashed through my mind intermittently. Of course, that would be the biggest slap in Riftan’s face; a great disappointment to the only person I was inclined to prove myself to, but then again... He was probably more used to me disappointing him than ac

EDEN POV The blanket of darkness slowly departed, leaving way for a dull ache around my body and the rhythmic pulsing of warm blood swimming in my nerves. I tried moving my leg, letting consciousness wash over me, only to freeze in my spot when I felt chain… no. Not chains, but metal cuffs. My mind instantly registered the position I was lying in- on my back facing the ceiling- with metal cuffs clamping my limbs in a steady position. The cuffs were tight enough to leave bruises, yet slightly loose to not restrict the flow. I felt tubes and wires inserted into my body; the replica of the ones I saw sticking out Mr Charcoal's chest, and my heart instantly dropped. I didn't need to be told to know what it was they were doing. And no, they were not feeding blood to my body, they were drawing it into mega pints, and horror replaced the warmth inside of me. Murmurs rang around the room, shadows moving before my closed eyes. I stayed unmoving on the bed, frozen and careful not to move

EDEN POV Anything that happened from there was a mucky blur of events. The thunderous explosions created just enough problems that both Blair and the witch had to leave for a quick inspection; and full-blown war if it came to that. Raynor soon burst through the door like a bat chased out of hell, breathless as he tried to explain what it was that was happening outside the door. He stayed behind guarding Mr. Charcoal, grunting and cursing the entire time. I was torn between laughing at him for hiding in here with a russ of guarding his recovering son and feeling pity for him. If he was as brave as he portrayed, he had to be down there, fighting the front line with Khalil and whoever it was he came with. They conversed softly, Charcoal's voice heard and I figured he was indeed nursed back to life; thanks to my blood. If they had even the slightest modicum of humanity left in their rotting bodies, they would set me free as a token of gratitude for having brought back their son to lif

RIFTAN POV My brain tingled with anticipation, my skin crawled with restlessness. We remained hidden in the trees the entire time as Khalil wreaked havoc at the Gemini Castle. It was way messier than I hoped it would get. I could fucking tell by the smoke and heat from the fire burning around the entire castle. The bloody sight and sounds must have alerted more attention than we actually needed. The sound of chaos and screams could be heard from a mile away, and I knew I owed my brother my life. Heck, I could reprimand him for so many wrong deeds but in that very moment, all I could think of was the trouble he was going through to save my woman. Something that wasn't even in the job description of his life. “Do you think they’ve held them longer enough?” Kylek countered staring ahead with me at the fire painting the sky orange. “I don’t care. I am going.” I spun around and headed for the helicopter that rested in the cleared meadow. Kylek came running behind me silently. We

EDEN POV The first sign of life came with me lying on my back and facing upwards and this time, with a smooth, soft blanket draped over my body. A tiny moan slipped out of me, as I wiggled out of the thick haze of dreamless sleep, then came into contact with a soft hand that caught mine in a tight grip. “Baby, hey.” He countered low, emotions clogging his throat before he raised it to his lips and showered kisses on it, paying attention to each bruised knuckle and finger. I peeled my eyes open, hating how much it was suddenly a norm to just pass out and linger in the world of the undead. I turned my head to find Riftan watching me intently, faint light casting shadows around the room and the other side of his face. Only the night lamp was on. A small smile formed on my face as I took him in, the worry lines on his forehead and the dark circles around his eyes. I was the one kidnapped and forced to sail through the blood rivers of hell, yet he was the one who looked a lot

EDEN POV I felt like a weightless piece of a floating feather as he carried me off the walls of our shower area, stark naked, and paraded out of the bathroom with me and into the bedroom. My eyes were heavy, and when I tried to open them to see his beautiful face; my head swung so bad it felt like I had drunk ninety bottles of hard liquor and now I was suffering the consequences of recklessness. I settled on closing them and sniffing the scent of soap and water from his skin which seemed to lull the dizziness. I guess I wasn’t fully healed. And I rushed to be used and taken roughly before my body could fully absorb reality. “Take it easy, Little Wolf.” He rasped before gently laying me down on a soft bed, covering my body with the white fluffy fleece blanket. “I am tired of sleeping,” It seemed to be all I was capable of doing lately. Whether it was a forceful sleep after being traumatised, or the fainting spells... But my body was tired. My eyes betrayed me and started closing

Chapter 58: visitorRIFTAN POVShe was back. There was no denying all of that. I mean the first time she woke up, she wanted me so bad the scent of her arousal could be smelled from every room in the pack house; and the sweet taste of her orgasm still lingered on my tongue. Even now, sitting a good distance from the alcove, I could feel the warmth of her laugh as she conversed softly with her beta and some ladies, casually sipping tea. The wash of her stare would brush my side intermittently, letting me know she was aware of my existence as I was hers. But something didn’t feel right. She laughed and talked like Eden, but it felt like a piece of her was missing; like she was here, yet she wasn’t.I couldn't quite put a finger onto the feeling, and I blamed it on the bitter contrition from having not being able to save her, from having to rely on my brother who sure as hell could have disappointed me a great deal. “A penny for your thoughts?” Khalil drawled slipping beside me and ya

EDEN POV The following days passed with a murky blur. I was still recovering from having my blood sucked out of me and fed to Mr. Charcoal, and the dust was beginning to settle. There were still a lot of things that didn’t make sense, gaps that needed filling, and cracks that needed to be closed; but one thing I was thankful for was how my life was back to normal. And yes, my normal involved watching my wolf play with Lucifel out of my body like little puppies in love. “You are getting better.” A familiar voice countered from above me. I spun around to find Khalil watching me intently, his face a mixture of complacency and peace. It’s been a few days since he was welcomed back to the pack with a grand feast and opened arms, everyone wanting to grace the skin of the savior who delivered their luna from the lands of torture and pain. I didn’t need to be told, but the color on his face told me he was adjusting just fine. And he liked it here. “That was not enough to shake me

Khalil isn’t going anywhere; because he is my mate’s brother.” The words seeped through the cracks of the door and into my soul like a white fog, clouding my senses with a foreign sensation. I had just arrived from Moon Logistics when I couldn’t find Eden anywhere, and the rage climbed to the peak when her rosy scent led me to the guest room she first lodged in when she arrived here.I mean, we were way past that, and it didn't make sense why she had to choose the guest room when she could have used my chambers, her chambers. But hearing those words as I stood before the door made me realize one thing;Eden was more than I bargained for.She was a holy grail in my blemished world and nothing I could ever do would ever make me worthy of her. She was everything perfect; from the color of her unusually black eyes to the sil

UNKNOWN POV I found myself yet in another land of the unknown! Unlike all places I have seen in my recent dreams, this one gave me unforgiving chills. The gothic brown interior brought into being, a classic view of a huge, ancient, frigid, and dark hall, with candles flickering to give a bit of light! The light wasn't much, so it left room for everything that lurked in the shadows to go all out and reign freely! Some murmurs and whispers could be heard from the shadows; I turned around to find nothing but me, and my own shadow that was amplified and zoomed by the candles. Another violent shiver tore through me causing my toes to curl, and at that very moment, I realized I had no shoes on! I braced my ground and tried to take a step forward! I don't know why but I felt very unsettled and very disturbed about the vision I was having. It didn't feel like any other of the ones I have had all my life! “Remiel!” A lifeless, cold voice called out, sending a shiver through my spine. I sp

EDEN POV The following days passed with a murky blur of unregistered events. I was still recovering from having my blood sucked out of me and fed to Mr. Charcoal, and the dust was beginning to settle. Well, at least about a fraction of it. For one, the alphas were slowly becoming less of dick-heads with the whole predicament, and some believed and vouched for Riftan. The order hadn't come knocking on our door, and there were no news about Raynor or his son who was resurrected from the dead. Except all that, everything else was a fucking tornado in my mind. There were still a lot of things that didn’t make sense, gaps that needed filling, and cracks that needed to be closed; but one thing I was thankful for was how my life was back to normal.
