Chapter 50 Khalil POV I must be really crazy, or simply tired of living an empty life. Those were the two conclusions I drew up as I mounted my black beast and soared into the night with the roar of motorbikes filling the night air. EDEN POV The blanket of darkness slowly departed, leaving way for a dull ache around my body and the rhythmic pulsing of warm blood swimming in my nerves. I tried moving my leg, letting consciousness wash over me, only to freeze in my spot when I felt chain… no. Not chains, but metal cuffs. My mind instantly registered the position I was lying in- on my back facing the ceiling- with metal cuffs clamping my limbs in a steady position. The cuffs were tight enough to leave bruises, yet slightly loose to not restrict the flow. I felt tubes and wires inserted into my body; the replica of the ones I saw sticking out Mr Charcoal's chest, and my heart instantly dropped. EDEN POV Anything that happened from there was a mucky blur of events. The thunderous explosions created just enough problems that both Blair and the witch had to leave for a quick inspection; and full-blown war if it came to that. RIFTAN POV My brain tingled with anticipation, my skin crawled with restlessness. We remained hidden in the trees the entire time as Khalil wreaked havoc at the Gemini Castle. It was way messier than I hoped it would get. I could fucking tell by the smoke and heat from the fire burning around the entire castle. Chapter 55 EDEN POV The first sign of life came with me lying on my back and facing upwards and this time, with a smooth, soft blanket draped over my body. A tiny moan slipped out of me, as I wiggled out of the thick haze of dreamless sleep, then came into contact with a soft hand that caught mine in a tight grip. “Baby, hey.” He countered low, emotions clogging his throat before he raised it to his lips and showered kisses on it, paying attention to each bruised knuckle and finger. I peeled my eyes open, hating how much it was suddenly a norm to just pass out and linger in the world of the undead. EDEN POV I felt like a weightless piece of a floating feather as he carried me off the walls of our shower area, stark naked, and paraded out of the bathroom with me and into the bedroom. My eyes were heavy, and when I tried to open them to see his beautiful face; my head swung so bad it felt like I had drunk ninety bottles of hard liquor and now I was suffering the consequences of recklessness. I settled on closing them and sniffing the scent of soap and water from his skin which seemed to lull the dizziness. I guess I wasn’t fully healed. UNKNOWN POV I found myself yet in another land of the unknown! Unlike all places I have seen in my recent dreams, this one gave me unforgiving chills. The gothic, black interior brought into being, a classic view of a huge, ancient, frigid, and dark hall, with candles flickering to give a bit of light! The light wasn't much, so it left room for everything that lurked in the shadows to go all out and reign freely! EDEN POV The following days passed with a murky blur. I was still recovering from having my blood sucked out of me and fed to Mr. Charcoal, and the dust was beginning to settle. There were still a lot of things that didn’t make sense, gaps that needed filling, and cracks that needed to be closed; but one thing I was thankful for was how my life was back to normal.
