Chapter 61

EDEN POV

The following days passed with a murky blur. I was still recovering from having my blood sucked out of me and fed to Mr. Charcoal, and the dust was beginning to settle.

There were still a lot of things that didn’t make sense, gaps that needed filling, and cracks that needed to be closed; but one thing I was thankful for was how my life was back to normal.

And yes, my normal involved watching my wolf play with Lucifel out of my body like little puppies in love.

“You are getting better.” A familiar voice countered from above me. I spun around To find Khalil watching me intently, his face a mixture of complacency and peace. It’s been a few days since he was welcomed back to the pack with a grand feast and opened arms, everyone wanting to grace the skin of the savior who delivered their luna from the lands of torture and pain.

I didn’t need to be told, but the color on his face told me he was adjusting just fine. And he liked it here.

“That was not enough to shake me, Khalil.”
