Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2

“Alex! Alex! Wake up it is almost noon already,” Nelson my beta and best-friend said shaking me roughly.

“What?” I asked coldly opening my eyes.

“I was just waking you up bro, it is already late and we have the council meeting by 2,” he said raising his hand in defeat

“Shit! How could I forget about that,” I said almost jumping from the bed.

“What’s the time? I’ll be ready in thirty minutes,” I said while rushing into the bathroom.

“Well, that was fun to watch,” Nelson said smirking as he left my room to prepare for the meeting.

“Alpha, we haven’t received any threats in the past four months,” one of the council members said.

“That’s good. Maya how is the pack training going,” I asked my gamma next in command after nelson.

“It is going great although we are supposed to have a tournament with Venus pack and I don’t think the youths are ready.”

“Why?” I asked in frustration

“Because they aren’t good in archery; they’ve been trying to learn it for weeks but I think it is impossible. Is there any way we could move the tournament forward.”

“I’ll look into that,” I replied.

“Have any of your heard anything from the witches,” I asked my council members and all of them kept quiet suddenly.

“Why alpha? is there something wrong?” The oldest member of my pack asked with fear in his eyes.

“No, I just want to fortify our barriers,” I replied and all the council members nodded in agreement.

I knew everyone bought what I said apart from Maya and Nelson with the looks they were giving each other they knew something was up.

“This council meeting is adjourned, Maya and Nelson stay back,” I said commanding everyone to leave.

“Spill what’s up?” Maya asked as soon as all the members of the council left.

“I need to find a witch?” I answered.

“Why? You know witches are hard to find except they want to be found,” Nelson said.

“I want to confirm so serious matters,” I said seriously.

“But, what do you want to confirm?” Maya asked concerned.

“I need more insight on the prophecy,” I stated.

“What prophecy?” Nelson asked.

“The prophecy about the wolf with black fur and blue eyes,” I responded.

Maya and Nelson looked at each other and burst out in laughter

“You mean the folktale that is told to pups to make them scared so they won’t go round the barriers?” Maya asked with a hint of smile on her face.

“Except it isn’t a folktale,” I said seriously.

“What do you mean?” Nelson asked.

“Based on the discussion I had with my father yesterday, it is an actual prophecy that was said by a witch 500 years ago and it was only shared and taken seriously among the alpha and the luna of every pack while they made everyone believe it was a folktale that they shouldn’t be scared of.” I shared with them.

“If what you are saying is true, shouldn’t the prophecy be happening right now? Or it ought to have happened already,” Nelson said

“Yes, because you have a completely black fur and blue eyes,” Maya continued.

“That is what my father said, he told me that when I was born, they waited to see if the prophecy will come true and since, thirty years have passed and there have been nothing going on and no sign of war, other alpha’s have relaxed or now think that the witch that said the prophecy was just joking with them. But he still believes that it is true and it will come to pass one day, and he doesn’t want us to be part of the casualties of the war or lose our land because we didn’t prepare that is why we having been training for years and now he wants me to marry the daughter of the alpha of blood moon pack.” I explained to them.

“But she is not your mate,” Maya said with wide eyes.

“I already explained that to him”

“If you get married to her, don’t you think it will weaken our pack because she isn’t your true mate and mate bonds are very important for alphas because it makes them stronger and unleashes their true power,” Nelson said

“I know, that is why I told him that he should give me two years and if I don’t find my mate, I will marry Analise,” I replied.

“You did what?” Nelson and Maya chorused making me chuckle.

“I said that to give me more time to find my mate,” I shrugged.

“What if you don’t find your mate after two years?” Nelson asked.

“I will find her!”

“Okay then, so now why do you want to find a witch?” Maya asked.

“Because I have questions, and I want to ask about my mate. I saw her last night in my dream”

“You mean you dreamt about her?” Nelson asked

“I saw her, I feel the prophecy is not complete and I need to find a witch to tell me the full prophecy or at least give me guidance.” I responded.

“Okay, I’ll ask king fae because they are closer to the witches and he will help me get information on the witches whereabout,” Nelson said.

“Alright,” I said.

“Alex, I got a lead that Nirvina the witch is in Rome Italy,” Nelson said.

“Alright let’s go there to meet her, get the private jet ready,” I said standing up from my office chair carefully arranging the papers on the desk.

The flight to Rome was quiet and filled with anticipation of what the witch will say.

“I thought you said Nirvina is here?” I said furiously after searching Rome for the past two days.

“Yes, she was supposed to be here, I told you witches can only be found when they want to be found or they can gain something from you,” Nelson said

“Do you think we should put out a bait for her?” I asked Nelson

“I don’t know witches are too smart to fall for baits but we could try?” Nelson said.

“You see I told you witches don’t fall for baits, it been five days now and still no sign of her. Let’s just give up and go back to our pack.” Nelson said.

“Okay Nirvina I give up I just wanted to ask you about the prophecy, I’d give you anything you want,” I said smirking looking at Nelson knowing I have baited Nirvina.

“Okay what do you want to know about the prophecy,” Nirvina said as she appeared.

“I told you bait,” I said winking at Nelson.

Nirvina rolled her eyes.

“What do you want for helping me out,” I asked Nirvina.

“I want to be able to stay in your pack anytime I wish,” Nirvina said smirking.

Nelson was shaking his head to say he doesn’t agree but I already responded

“Done.”

“Thank you, now what do you want to know about the Prophecy?” Nirvina said.

“My father said I am key part of the prophecy but I don’t think that is all,” I said

Nirvina laughed.

“Wise child, they may have been told the prophecy but they weren’t told the full thing.”

“Okay, tell me the full thing,” I said.

“I will but you haven’t given me anything that will make me talk,” Nirvana said.

“I will give you all the precious crystals I can find, now talk.” I said while Nirvana smiled.

“Okay the prophecy said that a great war will ensue when the black fur with blue eyes arises but what the prophecy actually said was “darkness will fill the land, darkness from black fur with blue eyes. A great war will begin but only the moon goddess’s descendant can end the war for good with the help of the dark fur with blue eyes.” Nirvina said.

“I don’t understand, do you mean I will cause the war?” I asked.

“To answer that I’ll need another gift, but this one you can’t provide. Bye,” Nirvina said laughing as she disappeared.

What did that even mean, I came here for answers now I am filled with more questions than ever.
