“I don’t understand so she confirmed that your mate was probably around you may have greeted are her parents?” Nelson asked to be sure.

“Yes, I think Nirvina meant something like that.”

“I need information on every alpha and luna that attended the ball,” I said to nelson.

“Alright I’ll do that in the meantime try to get some rest you look like shit.”

“Shut up,” I said as he left my room.

“A year has passed and we’ve been looking for your mate but there is not progress, at this point, I don’t even think she is around this region or on earth,” Maya said with a frustrated sigh.

“I’ve got to find her she keeps appearing in my dreams more frequently now,” I said dragging my hand through my hair.

“How do we even know it her, for all I know it could be some witch playing with your mind because you have never seen her face. The dream always ends when she is about to transform. Don’t you think there is something suspicious about that?” Nelson asked.

“I don’t know, I don’t want to think about it that. it will make me to look out for other alternatives which may not be true.”

“Alright do what you think is best. Do you remember the last thing Nirvina told you?” Nelson asked.

“Yeah? What has that got to do with this?” I asked Nelson.

“Do you remember that we visited all the alphas and lunas except the alpha and luna of moon crest which were on vacation. So, we decided to rule them out because they have very weak wolves and there is no way the moon goddess will give you such a mate,” Nelson said.

“Yeah?” I said urging him to continue.

“What of if your mate is from moon crest pack,” Nelson continued.

“I already did my research on the pack like I did every pack. The main reason why I allowed them to be ruled out is because they only have one daughter and she was seventeen at that time, there is no way I would go in search of her. I am way older than her.”

“True but people have mates that are way younger than them,” Maya said.

“Yes, but it is very rare and I have never seen an alpha that has a mate so young and the one alpha that did, rejected her.” I replied.

“Alright, well we just have two countries yet that we haven’t checked. Hopefully your mate will be among one of them,” Nelson said.

“Yup, we have Russia and Australia. Goddess! it will be so beautiful if you have a Russian or an Aussie luna.” Maya said excitedly.

“It will be so cool their accent is fire,” Nelson agreed.

“Alright let’s check them out because this is my last resort and my two-year time-frame has almost elapsed. If we don’t find her in any of these regions, I’ll have to marry Analise.” I told them looking very destressed.

“Don’t worry we’ll find your mate so you don’t have to suffer the wrath of Analise,” Maya said dramatically making us laugh.

“Well son I am sure you have tried you very best to look for you mate and I am so proud you put in so much effort but now I think it is time for you to serve the pack with a luna by your side, and create heirs with the moon goddess’s guidance.” My father said.

“But father I need a little more time, I am sure I will find her,” I told my father.

“That is what you said two years ago, son you are thirty-two years old now. Do you want to get a luna when you are all old and full of grey hairs?”

“I just really think it will be best to lead this pack with my mate. don’t you think Analise has found her mate already?”

“That is the thing she hasn’t,” my dad said with a grin.

“Okay then, let me talk to her.”

“Don’t tell me you will get married to Analise; I’ve heard so many bad things about her. Did you forget that my mate is from her pack?” Nelson said.

“Yeah, I’ve heard so many ugly things about her too. They said everyone in her pack fears her and that she is very ruthless.” Maya said agreeing with Nelson.

“Well, I am yet to meet her and there is really nothing I can do, I haven’t found my mate yet.”

“I just knew that agreement with your dad will come back and bite you in your ass,” Maya said fuming.

“I just hope the pack won’t suffer from your bad decisions.” Nelson said.

“You both should calm down; I haven’t agreed to marry her yet. Let me just talk to her, I’ll work something out.”

“Alright do because I don’t want a brat as my luna,” Maya said before leaving.

“Alpha she is here,” one of the guards said

“Okay, let her in,” I said as I stood up to straighten my suit.

“Hi sweetheart,” Analise said as she wrapped her hands around me and kissed my cheeks

“Hi Analise,” I said in a stern voice and a blank face.

“Why are you replying like that? are you unhappy to see me?” Analise said pouting.

“I am just tired,” I said coldly before going back to my desk.

“Okay well you could smile,” Analise said walking to seat on my lap.

“Stand up Analise,” I said.

“No baby, I want to stay here. I feel comfortable,” Analise said seductively while trailing her hands through my body.

“Analise get up,” I said seriously part of my wolf coming out as he didn’t appreciate Analise on my body.

She quickly stood up reluctantly as her wolf submitted to mine

“Analise, do you have a mate?” I asked.

“Um, well Alex, I er. I don’t have a mate,” she said looking at the floor.

“Don’t you want to find your mate?” I asked.

“Yes, well no. I don’t want my mate,” Analise said.

“Why don’t you want your mate, that is the most sacred bond on earth,” I said. 

“Well Alex,” Analise said with teary eyes

“What’s wrong,” I said reaching for her.

“Alex, you have to marry me please,” Analise said as she started crying.

“What? Why are you crying?” I asked confused.

“Alex if you don’t marry me, I’ll be killed. My father is not who you think he is, he is power hungry and said you are meant to fulfill some prophecy. He said I am of no use if I don’t get married to you. That he will kill me and leave my remains outside in the woods for animals to devour.” Analise said crying with fear in her eyes.

“What do you mean?” I said surprised and confused.

“Please just announce you’d marry me. Please I’ll find a way to get out of this mess so we can marry our actual mates. Please just say you’ll make me your luna, I don’t want to die tonight.” Analise begged while crying.

“Alright I will but promise me that if one of us finds our mate before our engagement, we will break it off,” I said to Analise.

“I accept, thank you Alex,” Analise said then left my office.

“Alex what the fuck do you mean by you are getting engaged to Analise,” Maya shouted as she walked into my office.
