CHAPTER 5

“Who I choose to be my luna is none of your business,” I said with a blank face as I stood up and left my office.

“Father, I have agreed to marry Analise,” I told my father.

“Really, this is good news. I always knew you would make the right decision. I am very sure alpha Chance will be so happy,” my father said so excitedly.

“Father can Analise stay here until our engagement? So, she will get to know our pack and pack members.” I asked my father hoping he would agree, so Analise will stay in my pack and her father won’t hurt her anymore.

“You are so smitten by her, you just met her and you want her to stay, I’ll tell her father then; I know my friend will agree.”

“Alright thanks, father;” I said walking out of his office.

“Alpha the beta has been waiting for you in your office, he wants to talk to you.” One of the guards told me as I walked to the east wing of the pack house where my office is.

“Okay, I’ll meet with him now,” I said walking into my office.

“Alex, thank the goddess that you are here now. I noticed that someone that isn’t from out pack broke into the south barrier. I have checked around the pack but nothing and nobody is missing.” Nelson said as soon as I walked into the office.

“Do you mean a rogue?” I asked.

“I don’t really know because the person masked their scent properly. So, I couldn’t tell if it was a rogue or somebody from another pack.”

“I only noticed that energy from the south barrier has been tampered with.” Nelson said.

“Do you think it is Nirvina, she once asked me to promise that I would let her stay in our pack anytime she wanted. Are you sure she isn’t the one.” I said thinking hard. Trying to figure out who came into our pack uninvited.

“I have been thinking about it and I don’t think it is Nirvina because if she wanted to come into our pack, she wouldn’t need to break through the barrier she can easily appear and disappear as she pleases.” Nelson responded.

“Call maya, this is her specialty, I am very sure she will be able to track this person.” I said knowing that maya’s special power from the moon goddess is additional sight and increased senses, that means that she can easily see things we cannot, hear things we cannot hear and smell things we cannot smell and she is very fast.

“Okay, I’ll call her through our private mind link.” Nelson said.

“Maya, come to Alex’s office right now. It is important.” I heard Nelson say through our private mind link. 

Normally you can only form two kinds of mind link, one with your pack and the second one with your mate, but accidentally when we were still teenagers and undergoing our training as pack officials, we created a mind link and we have been using that to communicate privately since then.

“Yes alpha, I was called,” Maya said still angry at the fact that Analise will soon be her luna and the way I talked to her.

“Maya let’s but grudges aside now, someone broke into the pack and we need you to check it out because the person masked their scents and foot prints so we can’t trace the person and we don’t know if the person is still in our pack or have left already. You need to check it out.” I said to her

“When did this happen and why am I hearing of it now?” Maya asked.

“It happened this morning and you were too busy sparring with the soldiers so I couldn’t disrupt your training.” Nelson replied.

“Okay take me to the place where it happened,” Maya said as we left my office.

“It was a rogue, I can see the person footprints it leads to the packs, library and stops in front of the ancient books self, no book was missing but I feel like the person took something. And the person left through the same part.” Maya told us.

“Why didn’t we see the person?” Nelson asked.

“The person was masked with magic,” answered before Maya could.

“I don’t understand how did the rogue get access to that kind of magic and what information does the rogue need from our library,” I asked thinking about all the information I just got.

“I don’t know but this is strange, I’ll get the librarians and some workers to search the ancient books self to see what this person wanted, or must have taken” Nelson said.

“Okay do that Nelson and in the meantime, prepare a room for Analise and start making preparations to send out invites to all the packs for our engagement. Maya start making preparation for my engagement.” I said leaving Nelson and Maya staring at me in shock.

I don’t need to tell them why I am getting engaged to Analise they won’t understand. They will try to talk me out of it and I can’t have that. I don’t want Analise life to be in danger because of me.

“Alpha the pack leaders from various packs have arrived and all the preparations for your engagement is ready,” one of the pack workers told me.

“Has Analise gotten her gown? Is she ready for tonight?” I asked the pack worker as I walked into the ballroom to inspect what the workers have done.

“Yes, alpha is she ready for the night she looks very stunning,” the pack worker replied smiling.

“Alex, are you ready the engagement is about to start and guests are already coming in,” Nelson said as he waited outside my room with Maya.

“I am ready, I soon be there. Please start welcoming the guest and make sure Analise is waiting for me so we will enter the ball room together.”

“Alright no problem,” Nelson said as they left.

“Congratulations on your engagement Alpha Alexander,” the pack leaders of the stellar pack greeted

“Thank you very much” I said already exhausted from the amount of congratulations I have received, coupled with the fact that Analise has been hanging on to me since our engagement and even my wolf is repelled and just wants to yank her hands off me.

“Congratulations on your engagement party alpha Alexander!” the alpha and luna of moon crest pack congratulated me.

“Thank you very much,” I responded.

“Our daughter would like to congratulate you” the luna of moon crest pack said.

“Hello alpha Alex congratulations on your engagement party”

“No, you don’t call the alpha by just Alex, you are to call him Alpha Alexander,” the luna of moon crest scolded but I was too stunned to speak

One word kept ringing through my mind, MATE!
