AMBER’S POV‘Ding dong,’ the doorbell rang multiple times.Who could be ringing the doorbell so much? What a maniac! I thought.“Who is it?!” I angrily asked as I placed my hand on the back of my head. I woke up with such a terrible headache. My head was banging like crazy this morning. It was like there was a band of drummers, endlessly drumming to a hard beat.“Hannah!“ she exclaimed excitedly.“Come in, Hannah.”Hannah came into the room with my breakfast and a big glass of grape juice.“Oh, it’s you. I thought it was some maniac banging the door constantly. Why do you look so excited?” I asked with a puzzled look on my face. “Is there a special occasion? You made so much grape juice. Just for me?”“What do you mean? Don’t tell me you've forgotten that today is the delivery date!” Hannah snapped angrily as she placed the tray on the table.“Oh my! It seems like I forgot. You can’t blame me though, pregnant women seem to forget things easily. And besides, today’s my delivery date. C
AMBER’S POVI went back to my room to cry and curse myself for what I’m about to do. I cried bitterly at the thought of abandoning the ones I love and taking along with me their happiness. If my child would make everyone happy, why don’t we love together to have each share of happiness? I thought of that but that idea had no hope of reaching light. I had to pursue this selfish act for my own happiness. It was nighttime and time for me to go into labor. The baby could decide to come out anytime from now so I have to tread carefully.‘Ding dong,’ the doorbell rang.“Who could that be, so late in the night?” I muttered under my breath. “Come in.”Hannah came into the room with a cup of coffee in her hand.“Hannah, it’s you. What are you doing here so late?” I asked with a curious look on my face.“Isn’t it obvious? I’m here for you. You’ll be going into labor anytime from now, so I came here to help you deliver. And look,” she pointed at the small glass of coffee. “I brought coffee so I
AMBER’S POV“Where did that voice come from?” I muttered under my breath while I constantly grunted loudly to scare my enemy. The shadow ran past me again.“Why are you getting serious, beautiful? I won’t hurt you. You just need to calm down. After you’re calm, we could reach an agreement,” the voice echoed again.“Who are you? And what agreement are you talking about?” I grunted loudly.“Wonderful! It seems to be like you’re calming down. There’s no need for violence…especially when you’re pregnant,” the voice became deeper.“I said who are you?!” I yelled angrily. “And why are you troubling me? Don’t you know who I am?!”“Oh my! I’m so scared. Just who the hell are you?!” The voice was as loud as those of the devil. The depths of his voice made me shudder. After hearing that voice, I knew he was bad news. I began to run away. I ran until I was sure to have covered a safe distance. I offered a sigh of relief because I was sure to have lost him. I began to journey slowly because I exh
LOGAN’S POV“I need to use the bathroom,” I said as I got up from my bed and headed for the bathroom. “After easing myself, I returned to my bed to rest some more.“Tonight’s the night that my child will be born. I ought to be hearing either Amber’s screams or the crying of the child. Could it be that she’s already given birth?” My eyes went bright when I realized what I said.I immediately wore my shirt as I ran off to Amber’s room to go see my child. When I got to the door of her room, I gently knocked, not to disturb Amber or my son. I was so excited that I couldn’t take it anymore. I flung the door wide open, and to my surprise, Amber wasn’t in the room. I checked in the bathroom and she wasn’t there as well. I only found Hannah sleeping without a care in the world.Could it be that she has..? I wondered.“Where the hell is Amber!” I screamed at Hannah and she sprang up on her feet and then fell to the floor.“Weren’t you in charge of her?!” I yelled angrily. “Where the hell is sh
SCOTT’S POV“Do you think we should move forward, Alpha Scott?” Seth asked, while dodging behind a rock.“No, Seth. Have you already forgotten about alpha Logan’s god-like abilities? He can hear movements from miles away. So I urge that we all be careful. When attacking, do not—”“Alpha Scott!” Jace, one of my prestigious men called out to me. “I can see a human-like figure approaching us. Should we put it down?!”“A human-like figure, you say,” I muttered to myself. I squinted my eyes in order to get a better view of the figure.Jace was right, it had a human figure. But who could that be? Could it be the enemy? Has alpha Logan figured out that we were here? I thought.“Alpha Scott!” Jace called out from a distance. “The approaching figure is running at full speed. I think it’s time to start launching attacks!”“Doesn’t that look like a woman to you, Seth?” I asked, with an unsure feeling.Seth looked closely at the incoming figure and understood. “Now that you mention it, that runni
LOGAN’S POVI’ve asked Luke to go check out what I heard but he hasn’t returned.I let go of Grace and she sank to the floor, gagging and choking. She was the least of my worries now because other than footsteps, I could now hear weapons clashing. I also heard a voice I’m familiar with. No doubt about it, it was Scott’s voice.I ran out of the room to where I heard the voice but my way got blocked by two of the rival soldiers. Judging from their appearance, they weren’t ordinary wolves. From why I’m hearing now, it seems like Luke is taking care of Scott, which has lessened my worries. There was no doubt about it, they came back for revenge but I’ll make sure to turn the tables on them.“We won’t let you pass, Alpha Logan,” one of them said.“You both are the least of my worries. My two seconds are precious to me, so I suggest that you move out of my way or I’ll make it ten milliseconds. An attack you won’t see coming,” I said.“Really? In that pajamas of yours?” He mocked.“Don’t thi
LOGAN’S POV“What the hell was that, Gertrude? You never mentioned that the Kaisen came with a force field. And what the hell was that switch from the left to the right in milliseconds? I didn’t feel the vibration of Jace’s sword. How the hell did he do that?” I asked while panting heavily.“Well, I myself never expected them to get to this level. But it seems like they’ve mastered their sword. The ability of the Kaisen is to only cut through air and what does that mean? It means that it repels air. What Seth simply did was that he found a tight spot of air and got severed it. That’s why it felt like a force field. And about the Herlin, I said that it’s ability is to manipulate its own weight; which means that, the lighter it gets…”“…the faster it moves and avoids gravitational pull. Got it. I’ll stop slacking and end this quickly,” I said as I moved Gertrude’s head in front of me and got up.“You’re becoming too slowly alpha,” Jace mocked as he charged towards me.I just stood still
AMBER’S POV“Argh!” I cried as I tried to bear the pain. The pain had become unbearable for me. I cried on the way to the Rage beast pack.“You’ll be alright, madam,” a soldier said.“Thank you. Is the palace still farther away?” I asked impatiently.“Yes, a little bit farther. Why don’t we kill time? You could tell us about where you’re from. I’m sure you don’t mind, right?” He asked.“No no, I don’t mind,” I said with a faint grin on my face.I’ll have to cook up a story I can use to convince them that I’m actually not an enemy or else they won’t hesitate to behead me and kill my child, I thought.“Judging from the fact that you’re an alpha, this is totally strange. A pregnant alpha wandering all by herself,” the second soldier added. With what he said, I was able to cook up a perfect story that they won't have objections to.“You see, I’m an alpha and princess to a small pack. An unpopular pack. You won’t happen to know any claw pack, will you?” I asked, hoping they wouldn't know.
