Chapter 43.

AMBER’S POV

The rays of sun had pierced through the windows of my room. The rainbow was out due to the rain that fell last night. Though the sun was out , the windy and cold temperature of the atmosphere hadn’t changed since last night. It was almost noon and I was just waking up from last night’s slumber. I gazed outside my window and saw the guards training in the field. I struggled but I managed to get up from my bed. I went to my bathroom and washed my sleepy face.

While heading back to my room, I stopped at my bathroom’s mirror and decided to take a look at myself. I glanced at myself and thought of how much I have changed over the months. I recalled how I had suffered throughout my childhood, being maltreated and verbally abused by my so-called step father. I felt my face and touched my cheeks. I had really added weight. It must’ve been because I was pregnant but I know it wasn’t. I had been properly taken care of. I looked at my big belly. I rubbed it to calm the kicking child.
