AMBER'S POV

It's been two months since Alice left, and in intervals, my heart involuntarily trailed off with thoughts of her. I wondered when she was going to be back.

Although we exchange letters occasionally, it still was not equivalent to her presence and the moments we spent together.

Now, without her, I felt lost and isolated once again. I missed her laughter, her scoldings, her advice, and the comfort of having another friend aside Beth, in this unfamiliar pack.

Beth was kind, but we do not share the same chemistry I shared with Alice.

Suddenly, I heard a deafening clattering sound of something breaking, and I instantly jerked up from the chair I was seated in, my thoughts momentarily forgotten.

Glancing over at the direction the noise came from, I was met with the sight of Grandal hastily crawling towards a thousand pieces of shards of glasses that were once a ceramic China flower vase.

Panic rose like bile in the pit of my stomach as I rushed over to him. Frantically, I scoop

SCOTT'S POVAfter consoling Grandal, I returned to the throne room to resume my meeting with the council of elders. We discussed a wide range of topics, cutting across security, trading and farming.Elder 1: “We must increase our security measures to protect the pack from rogue wolves.”Elder 2: “Accepted. We should also allocate resources to training our soldiers and purchasing more arms and ammunition.”Elder 3: “How about improving our trading agreements with neighboring packs? We need to see to the prosperity of our people.”Elder 4: “In addition to that, I suggest that we send delegates to negotiate new trade deals and strengthen existing alliances with other packs.”Elder 5: “About the topic of farming, we ought to address the recent decrease in our crop yields. How can we improve our farm produce?”Elder 1: “We should look towards introducing new crop varieties that are resistant to pests and diseases. JAYDE'S POVIt's been a month since Noel forced himself on me and since then, it has continued to repeat itself. I was more or less like his mistress, one that he beckoned anytime he needed to satisfy his sexual needs.I was not the only one affected by his tyrant rule. The whole of the red fanged pack and Zion pack, after he colonized them, were living in fear of him. It was safe to say that he was worse than his brother, Alpha Logan.Speaking of his brother, no one has heard about the whereabouts of Alpha Logan and his men. Some rumored that they had been killed and their bodies thrown away, while some said they were locked up in Noel's dungeon.Whichever, all I hoped and prayed for was for the day I and other innocent people will be freed from Noel's shackles.“Hey,” a voice called me, and I didn't need to turn to know it was Laura. Knowing how strong our friendship bond was, Noel had moved me to stay in a room on the same floor as his chambers, putting a reasonable distance betwee

SIR JAMES THE THIRD, POVI sat in my study, a fresh scroll spread out in front of me, a quill feather dipped inside a container of ink was on the table too. I was sending out letters to all the Alpha's I had one business or the other with.My advisor had prepared a list of each Alpha, and the business I had with them. It was with the guide of the list I wrote each letter.I began writing the letters and an hour later, I got to the last name on the list.A heavy sigh left my lips as I saw the name was that of Alpha Logan. For the past few months, I have been trying to reach Alpha Logan all to no avail.I had sent numerous letters that got no replies. I became skeptical on if Alpha Logan had lost interest in the deal with me.But something in my gut did not buy the thought. If Alpha Logan had decided to pull out, he would inform me. And so I kept sending letters.Today was one of those days, and as I stared at Alpha Logan's name, I could not help the sign that escaped my lips. Closing

NOEL'S POVIt's been three months since I became Alpha's of the red fanged pack, and I can't help but be more proud. The thought of having people who answered to me and were scared to go against my words was so exhilarating.I ruled the pack with a strong fist, inflicting pain on its members more than Logan did. Speaking of Logan, a satisfied smile appeared on my lips.I was supposed to visit him and his men in my underground dungeon. I visited them once weekly to jeer and taunt them, and nothing gives me joy more than the way they look now. They were all pale and malnourished, bones on their necks protruded and pronounced.I was making my way to the farm to observe how work was going on before I proceeded to the dungeon when a little crowd got my attention. I decided to take a look at what was happening. On arrival, I discovered it was a man stripped naked and being whipped by my soldiers. He had stolen a tuber of yam from the barn and was caught.“All hail the Alpha,” the people gen

LOGAN'S POVKillian coughed again and spat out more thick masses of blood, his eyes rolling into their sockets. What the hell was going on?“Killian, are you okay?” I inquired, my dear increasing.“I … .my stomach…it hurts…” he replied, and began to gasp for breath.“Let's call for help,” Gertrude suggested.Immediately, I and the rest of the men swallowed our pride and began to shout for help. It seemed like our efforts were futile because no one could hear us.Killian continued to cough and gasp for breath, life ebbing out of him gradually. I could feel it, I could smell it. The smell of death hung over him like a dark cloud.“What do we do?” Luke, who has not spoken in a while, finally spoke up.“I don't know. He has to receive medical attention else…” Ghen lowered his head, tears dropping from his eyes. “OMG! I would rather not say it,”“Let's still try to call for help again,” I ordered. We screamed, our tired wolves howled, but nobody came answering. And before our eyes, Killian

AMBER'S POVFortunately, Scott had given in and accepted that I joined the female soldiers to train. My joy knew no bounds when he informed me about it. I was finally going to get over the feeling of being useless and not doing anything for the pack.Today was my first day as a new trainee, and I was over the moon as I got ready. I packed my usual flowing hair in a ponytail and took off my earrings and necklace. If I was going for such a strenuous activity, then the need for jewelries is not necessary.“Hmm … .you seem so excited,” Betty teased as she fed Grandal.I whipped around to face her, a boastful look in my eyes. “Of course, I am. You are looking at a soon-to-be female soldier.”Betty gave out an amused laughter. “If this is not learning to run without crawling first, I don't know what it is.”I rolled my eyes and returned my gaze to the vanity mirror in front of me. “I will leave you in surprise, just you wait and see.”“It’s good to see you this excited again, Amber. AMBER'S POV“Hey, hold up.” A lady from the training group hailed me as I was making my way back to the house. Our training for the day had ended, and I was rushing home to see Grandal. He must be craving breast milk by now.Reluctantly, I turned around to see how it was. She had Raven color dyed hair and a pretty face and body.“Umm… Hi,” I said, halting.“Amber, is it?” She asked, looking up and down, a scowl on her face.“Yes,” I responded, uncomfortable by her gaze, as I shifted on one foot.“Okay, Amber. Why did you take interest in joining the female soldiers? You have a reason, don't you?”I opened my mouth to talk, but I shut it up immediately when I remembered Grandal needs me. “Maybe we should have this conversation later. I have something urgent to tend to at home,”“Don't you dare walk out on me, you destitute fellow!” The lady snapped, pulling me back.I was stunned as I turned to stare at her. Why was she talking to me in that manner? I barely knew her and was meeting he

(SIR JAMES THE THIRD'S POV)No matter how hard I tried, I could not get the thought of helping Alpha Logan off my head. It was more like his voice was calling out to me for help.I felt helpless because I didn't have a large army and Noel and his men would defeat us even before the war got started. As usual, I was in my room pacing, as restless tugged at my heart. Alpha Logan might not have been an ideal Alpha, but he had extended a hand of alliance to I and my people. When the vampires declared war against my pack, he had come to our aid without a second thought. If not for anything, I at least owed him the favor to seek help on his behalf. And just then, something clicked in my head. Why don't I enlist the help of the other three packs Alpha Logan had extended a hand of alliance to?My spy had informed me that Alpha Logan had reached out to an additional three lower ranking packs for alliances. Instantly, I called for my advisor. I need to find out the packs and who their Alpha's w

Carrying Grandal everywhere with me, even to court meetings with the elders of the pack. It felt like I was trying to make up for the times that we were apart from each other. As for Amber, she glowed every day, blossoming like a flower. Every day, I set my eyes on her, I can't help but desire to take her to bed and make love to her.But then, I didn't mean to rush things. I had treated her badly in the past, sexually, and would want our sexual encounters henceforth to be better. It was a bright cool morning and I prepared for my meeting with the elders. We had a lot to deliberate on, and I wouldn't want to keep them waiting.I arrived at the pack's house, the sun slowly rising from its abode in the sky. I walked into the hall and the elders were already seated, their faces expectant.I exchanged pleasantries with them, as I took my s

LOGAN'S POVI had assembled my men on returning from the seer's home. I filled them in on what the seer revealed, and I also informed them about the ritual to be held. They were all supportive as they all wanted Scott defeated as much as I wanted. So in the preceding days, I made preparations for the ritual, making provision for all the necessary materials we needed. And so the D–day arrived. The seer led me and my men to a large, open field on the outskirts of the Red Fanged Pack's territory. The moon was full in the sky, casting a silver glow over us. My men stood in a circle around me, their eyes fixed on me.The seer stood at the center of the circle, her eyes closed, her hands raised to the moon. “The moon goddess demands a ritual to weaken Scott's hold on the sacred pot,” she declared, her voice reverberating across the field.I nodded, my heart pulsating with anticipation. I knew that this ritual was the key to rescuing my mate and son.The seer began to chant, her voice risi

LOGAN'S POVThat night, I couldn't sleep as I kept tossing on the bed, nightmares of Amber and Grandal sleeping in a dungeon plaguing my dream.I couldn't believe Scott could be that cruel to a little child. I was even more angry at Amber for running off to my enemy's territory.I was unable to sleep as I rose from bed in the wee hours of the morning to visit my study. I tried to attend to some paperwork to get my mind off the events of the previous day, but I couldn't.It was in my restless state that I fell asleep on my study chair. The knock on the door roused me from sleep.“Come in,” I answered, groggily sitting up.My advisor stepped in, his face bearing an urgent expression. “Good morning, Alpha. The seer has sent for you on the moon goddess’s order.”My eyes immediately lit up. “Is it about my mate and son?”“I doubt. You have to hear her call right away.”I nodded and rose from the chair as I made my way back to my chambers. I freshened up and got changed into something befit

SCOTT'S POVAfter sending out the letter to Logan, I instructed my men to get prepared because I was sure Logan would come for war.He was a man of pride who never said no challenges, and just like I predicted, he arrived with his men Two days after I sent out the letter.“Alpha Logan and his men are here, armed to the teeth.” My advisor came to inform me, in my study.I let out an amused laughter. “Just like I expected. The men should not panic because he and his men won't be able to penetrate.” I said with so much confidence. My advisor nodded and exited the study. After he left, I took my time before heading outside to see Logan and his men. I walked out of the study, a smirk plastered on my face. I made my way to the palace gate, where Logan and his men were waiting. As I approached, I could see the determination in their eyes, but I knew it was futile.“Logan, Logan, Logan,” I said, shaking my head. “You really thought you could take on me and my pack? You're no match for us.”

LOGAN'S POVSince our rescue, today was the day I was finally meeting with my men. The reason being that I wanted everyone to be fully recuperated for the tasks at hand.I intended to restore the pack to its previous state. Compensate every family that Noel had killed their loved one or loved ones or stolen from them.I also intended to compensate Jayde and Laura for the inhumane treatment meted out to them by Noel. I also handed back the Zion's pack back to Laura.Afterward, I want to begin my search for Amber and my son. But before that, I had to summon the moon goddess for her opinion.“You all are welcome,” I said to my men as they all assembled in the throne room, on my orders.“We have a lot to discuss, but first I want to specifically thank you all for sticking by me. It is only unfortunate that we lost one of us during that trying mind,” at the mention of that, their eyes turned misty.“Wherever he is, Killian will be happy to know that we got the pack back. SCOTT'S POVI stormed out of Amber's room, my vision blinded by fury. I couldn't believe that the woman and her child I have been harboring and come to take as family are the mate and son of the man I detest with every single fiber of my being.Amber–who would have thought a woman as calm, conserved and innocent like her is capable of such deceit? More reasons why quiet females should be avoided at all cost.I arrived at my study, the walk from Amber's room doing nothing to alleviate how I was feeling. I felt used, betrayed and foolish.Lowering myself on my seat, I reminisced on the raid carried out by Logan and his men. My fury skyrocketed as I thought about the number of my soldiers and pack members that were lost that night. No matter how hard I tried to wave the painful thoughts, owing to my promise to Amber to keep her and Grandal safe, the images of that night still came surging back like an angry tide.My heart constricted painfully in my chest. You need to recover first, he will be here to get the penalty of his deeds. You need detoxification as I can smell poison all over you.” Sir James said, pulling me backward. As if on cue, I felt a wave of dizziness and I staggered backwards.“Are you okay?” I heard different voices in the background as my head swoon. I tried to stay stable, but couldn't. I doubled up, and my legs gave way beneath me as I lost consciousness. That was all I recalled as I woke up to find myself on a bed. Groggily, I opened my eyes and was met by pairs of worried eyes staring down at me.“Thank God he is awake,” a voice said, and I tried to prop myself up on the bed but stopped as a banging headache overtook me.“Don't stress yourself, Logan.

NOEL'S POVI turned to the maiden and harshly ordered her to leave my chambers. Hurriedly, I slipped my manhood back into my trousers.Turning to Olivia, I asked. “Are the soldiers retaliating?”“They are, but they seemed outnumbered. These people mean business, and the arms that they have with them are ones that I have never seen before.” Olivia explained, her eyes misty with fear.“Go on, I'm coming after you.”Hesitantly, she stared at me before hurrying off.Confusion overtook me as I slipped into my fighting clothes, wondering who these Invaders were. And to worsen things, they attacked at night, a vulnerable time when everyone would be exhausted from their diverse daily activities. My confusion was replaced by fear. My soldiers are not prepared enough because no one was expecting an attack.“Cowards!” I cussed at the Invaders. They didn't even have the decency to warn me beforehand about their attack.I was even more scared because there was no way to reach the Giants that had
