Chapter Twenty Nine

The whole house was so nosey. Everyone wanted to know Tristan. Okay, so not everyone but majority of the pack wanted to know more about him. They were gathered around him, asking him questions one after the other. Not to mention Marie who was bragging about his son-in-law to her age mates. While Tristan was busy chatting with some of the pack members who wanted to know more about him, lvan was in a meeting with Chris and Even in the office.

Sebastian, Corey and Zane were also doing a good with guarding Tristan. They watched every movement of the pack members like hawk watching chicks. With Roy, he was nowhere to be found. The guy had disappeared at some point.

Rex wanted to speak with Tristan but seeing all those people around him, he decided to drop it. There was no way they would let him have Tristan. He turned to leave for his room and that was when he spotted Colten who was busy reading once again while seated on the stairs.

A smile made its appearance on Rex's face before he walked towards Colten. Reaching him, he sat beside him, blocking all paths to go upstairs.

"Still reading it?" Colten nodded, smiling, "I've reached the best part"

"What's happing?!" Now Rex was interested. He had getting a liken into the novel Colten was reading after Colten gave him a recap.

"Listen" Colten said exciting, looking at Rex. "Arriving into the other world, the girl decided to get revenge for her friend's betrayal by taking every important thing to her"

"You don't say" Colten nodded again, "Tell me more" Rex said.

 "I was planning on doing just that" Colten responded, "So........

Tristan sighed, dropping himself onto the bed. Lvan kneeled down before him, taking off his shoes. So tired, he thought. Chatting with all those people was so tiring but, he did have fun.

They were all good people too. He also got to know more about them. It was fun. He smiled at the thought. 

Remembering tomorrow was Alan's birthday, he decided to ask what Lvan had planned. 

" Oh, lvan"

"Yes, baby"

"What are your plans for tomorrow?" Lvan finished taking off Tristan's shoes. He got up and dropped himself on the bed beside Tristan, taking his hand.

"I prepared a surprise birthday for him in the evening. In the morning, we will celebrate as a family and in the evening, we will celebrate it as a pack. What do you think?"

"I like the idea" Tristan answered with a smile. "All the preparations are done"

"Even the cake?"

"No, but Debby did say she'll bake it early in the morning"

"I see. Then, I want to bake the cake myself" lvan turned his head to look at Tristan, "Are you sure?"

Tristan turned to face Lvan with a smile, "Yes. I want to do that for my son. Oh, did you buy him a gift? What is it?"

"Not telling. What about you?"

"I'm also not telling" Tristan stick his tongue out. Lvan laughed at how childish and adorable Tristan looked.

"You're now coming back?" Chris was in the living room, seated on the couch with his legs crossed said when Roy entered through the front door. Chris was waiting for him because he wanted to ask a question about Colten. The guy was still treating him like air and hadn't given him an explanation. Which he desperately needed one.

He had been waiting for like 8hours now. Just when did the guy go? If Roy didn't show up at the moment, he was just about to leave for his room. It was also a good thing he waited for a few minutes, he would have missed him after all.

"Chris? Is that you?" Roy said when he smelled Chris's scent. He went into the living room and sat down, sighing in relieve and relaxing into the couch. "Why are you still up?"

"And you, where have you been? I've been waiting for you for like forever"

"Ah, sorry dude, I had something to do" A frown made its appearance on Chris's face. He could smell a perfume. Woman's perfume. Who was Roy joking to? He's a wolf too didn't he know he shouldn't underestimate werewolves sense of smell?

"Yeah, did you hook up with someone in town again? You shouldn't do that Roy. Having sex with strangers is dangerous"

"Don't worry, I won't get that human illness" Roy said with a smirk, "This is not just about STDs, think about your mate will you?"

"Chris, I understand, but I would appreciate it if you stay away from my sex life" Hearing that, Chris sighed. Roy was just as stubborn as Even.

"Just think about your mate and stop having sex with different strangers. You won't get anything good from it"

"Chris.....

" I wouldn't have said anything if it was just one person but.....

"If you don't have anything important to say then am leaving" Roy got up. He was just about to walk away when Chris spoke, stopping him, "I have something to ask about Colten"

Roy turned to look at Chris. He took back his seat, looking at Chris. "What is it?" He asked with a 'I don't have all night look' look. He was so annoyed at Chris for what he said. How dare he tell him what to do!

"Ah, have Colten still not told you why he is angry with me?" Chris asked, suddenly feeling nervous. "He hasn't said anything but I know why and I won't tell you"

Chris's eyes widened in shock, "What?! Please tell me! What is it?! Just what did I do wrong" 

"Shush!!" Roy placed his finger on his lip, gesturing Chris to keep quiet as it was late and the people in the house were already asleep.

"Keep quiet" he said. Chris nodded, speaking in a low voice, he said, "Please tell me. I don't know what to do anymore"

"And what are you going to do when you find out?" Roy asked. It wasn't really complicated but Colten was making it complicated. It was simple, it was either Chris would accept him when he find out the truth or he wouldn't.

He guessed Chris not accepting him was the reason why he was avoiding and ignoring Chris. Colten wanted to get rid of every single feelings he had for him. Colten was going through hell, a path he never want to go through.

"What will you do when you find out?" Roy repeated his question, looking seriously at Chris.

"What do you mean?" Chris asked with a confuse and questioning look. "I asked what you will do when you find out"

"I will apologize if I have to. I will do anything to get back what we heard before this situation came into existence"

"What if is something that doesn't need an apology? What will you do?"

"As I said, I will do anything to get back what we had before" Roy got up, giving his back to Chris as he said, "Don't say things like you would do anything when you don't even know the reason. Don't say such things. Don't say such things to Colten, you will just break his heart even more"

"What....

" I won't tell you anything. I'm sure Colten will tell you when he finally gets the courage to face the consequences"

Roy left for his room after saying those words to Chris. Chris was left with so many questions, confusion and curiosity.

"Someone please tell me" he said into the empty room before cupping his face into his hands.
