Miranda's POV

I was behind my desk handling some projects work when I perceived that familiar scent.

Then I knew he was here, his aura filled the entire ambiance as I released a little scoff.

Being around the one who had caused you nothing but pains, could be really traumatic, seeing him around me was something I couldn't tolerate, but had no option than to endure.

I had to pass this test, I needed to prove to dad that I could actually stay around Darren and feel nothing, regardless of the fact that he was my mate.

As long as I was concerned, I shared no mate bond with him, I had nothing moving in with him.

"Alpha Darren is here." My beta guard informed.

"Send him in." I ordered as he nodded before leaving.

Few minutes later, he was accompanied with the guard as he walked into the office.

I was actually putting on an act of not noticing his presence the moment he walked in.

I pretended to be so engrossed on my system, meanwhile i barely had anything going.
