A Sense Of Balance

I walk through the door of my mansion, my mind heavy with thoughts of Miranda. Despite my best intentions, I can't help but feel drawn to her, even as I am loyal with my wife, Vivian.

As I enter the house, Vivian approaches me with a radiant smile on her face.

"Darren," she squirreled"I have something wonderful to tell you."

My heart leaps at her words, and I am quick to ask, "What is it?" I questioned confusingly.

Vivian takes my hand, her smile growing even wider. "I'm pregnant," she announces, and I feel my heart almost stop.

"Pregnant?" I can't even begin to imagine what that means, or how it will affect my own emotions towards her, and towards Miranda.

Despite the unexpected news, Vivian seems to be brimming with excitement and hope. She speaks of nurseries and baby clothes, of how we will raise our child to be a strong and loyal member of the pack. And as she talks, I find my own worries about Miranda fading away.

For the next few weeks, my attention is solely on Viv
