-Chapter Thirty-
*First Person's Perspective* ~Enise~ It had been two days since I left Luca's mansion. I was still hurting from the turn of events, but Anna had dragged me downstairs to cheer me up. The three of us spoke about a lot of things and slowly my mind drifted away from all that was bothering me, unitil suddenly, the air tightened. Leaves rustled outside and a cold breeze caressed my skin. The hairs on my body stood up and goosebumps decorated all of my skin I wasn't the only one who could feel the tension in the room building up like a storm on the horizon. Everyone else, could There was a presence, a presence that I have become so familiar with. The wind continued and little things arranged at the corners of the living room began to fall. My lips twisted into a frown "Enough, Diana," I said, my voice shaking with anger and frustration. "You need to stop whatever this is and leave us alone." But Diana didn’t move, didn’t even flinch. The presence was still there. Instead, she knocked down a vase, that action sent shivers of anger down my back, and then something fell to the ground, A piece of paper. It landed with a soft thud, and for a moment, I stared at it, uncertain. Then I picked it up. The words on it were simple, yet they felt ominous. The paper read, *If I were you, I would stay calm and listen to what I have to say* I felt a rush of anger boil inside me. Who did she think she was? What right did she have to order me around like this? I stepped forward, my hands clenched at my sides, but my voice was steady when I spoke. "I don’t want to hear whatever it is you have to say, Diana," I said, every word laced with defiance. The wind whistled and another piece of paper fluttered to the group *"Too bad,* it read *"You’ll have to listen anyway. Because you really don’t have a choice."* And then, as if to prove that she didn’t care about my refusal, she did something that made my blood run cold. She appeared. One moment she was standing in front of us, her presence like a shadow lurking in the corner of the room. The next, she was right in front of me, almost within reach. I didn’t know how she had done it. She hadn’t moved, but suddenly she was standing there, as if she had stepped out of nowhere. Anna gasped, her eyes wide with shock. She took a step back, looking at Diana like she had seen a ghost. "How… how did you—" she started, but her words trailed off as she struggled to process what had just happened. Diana laughed softly, the sound chilling in the silence that followed. "You should be careful what you say, Anna," she said, her voice dripping with amusement. "The more you ask, the more you’ll regret it." What the hell? The nerve of this woman to act like she called the shot around here. I closed my eyes and sucked in a deep breath to calm my nerves "How can you do this?" Anna demanded, her voice steady "How are you even here right now?" Diana's gaze flicked to Anna with an amused smile. "Well, it's not really important how. What matters is why." She turned to face both of us now, her posture perfectly composed, her eyes glinting with something dark and calculating. "I’m not just anyone, you know. You might want to know who you’re dealing with before you decide to mess with me." Lucian, who had been silent until now, finally stepped forward, his expression grim. "I think that statement should be directed to you. You think pulling this stunt is enough for us to fear you? Oh she can materialize herself. She can teleport herself, let's bow down to the queen so she doesn't inflict her wrath upon us" Lucian mocked Her smile didn’t waver, though something about her eyes darkened. "That's your number one mistake" she said, her voice low and steady. "You think that's why you should fear me, but it's not. I am a hybrid" I blinked, confusion washing over me. "A hybrid?" I repeated, my voice unsure. Did this mean she was a vampire blood mixed with werewolf? Or maybe a witch? Diana didn’t respond immediately. Instead, she seemed to savor the moment, letting the word hang in the air like a threat. I could see the tension in Lucian’s shoulders, the way his muscles coiled in preparation for whatever might come next. He didn’t trust Diana, and neither did I, but something about the way she was carrying herself, the confidence in her every word, made me uneasy. "I’m half werewolf," she said at last, her voice casual, as if revealing that little detail wasn’t a big deal at all. "And half warlock." I froze. Half werewolf? Half warlock? The words didn’t make sense. It was like she was speaking a different language altogether. "Wait, what?" I managed to say. "A werewolf? A warlock? Are you serious right now? How is that even possible? How did that come about?" Diana’s lips curled into a cruel smile. "Oh, I’m very serious, Enise," she said. "I’m exactly what I say I am. A hybrid. And that’s why I can do what I do, and many more that you would never see coming" I stared at her, my mind trying to process the impossible. Werewolves and warlocks? Those were just things you heard about in stories, in fairy tales. They didn’t exist in real life. But the way Diana stood there, so calm and composed, it was as if she had dropped a bombshell, and there was no going back. Anna stepped back, her hands, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. "I don't believe you. You're a witch and just saying this to cover up. You don't want us to report you to the Alpha" She said . Yeah, that made much more sense to me Diana chuckled, the sound almost mocking. "The Alpha? You still refer to him as your Alpha?" She chuckled again "One would think that since you all are such high ranking Werewolves, it would be easy to differentiate between a witche's sent and a warlock's scent. But then, I don't care about that anyway, so let's go straight to the reason why I'm here" I looked at Lucian, who seemed as stunned as I felt. He opened his mouth to speak, but Diana didn’t give him the chance. She continued on, as if she was used to people’s disbelief. "I’m on your side, Enise," she said. "Believe it or not, I am. I want you to go back to the house. That’s the only way I can monitor Lucas. He’s made some mistakes—big ones—and I need to keep an eye on him. If you go back, I can make sure he doesn’t get too far out of line." I shook my head, still trying to wrap my mind around everything she had just said. "Just because you're a hybrid doesn't make you better than any of us. Don't forget once think that any of this would scare us. And I'm warning you now. Stay away from me, cause if you push me too far, I'll be forced to retaliate in ten folds" my voice was cold and menacing. I see why she thought she was so untouchable now. Diana’s gaze hardened, her voice sharp. "I am not here to start a fight with you, Enise — she was saying but I cut her off "That's Dr Denise to you" I said and she rolled her eyes — "I am on your side. I want to help you" I scoffed Lucian didn’t like what he was hearing. He stepped forward, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. "Hold on a second," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "You’re telling me that you want Enise to go back to the house so you can monitor Lucas? And you expect us to just trust you, just like that?" Diana laughed, and this time, it was colder than before. "Oh, Lucian," she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "You’re still as hot-headed as ever. I knew it would be like this." He stepped closer to her, his hands clenched into fists. "You’re playing a dangerous game, Diana. You don’t know who you’re messing with." She tilted her head to the side, her smile never faltering. "And you don’t know who you’re dealing with either, Lucian. Be careful what you say. You might not like the consequences." Anna looked between us all, her voice shaky as she asked, "But why are you so against Lucas if you’re on his side? If you’re his friend, why would you want him under surveillance?" Diana’s expression flickered for just a moment, as if the question had caught her off guard. But then, she recovered and stepped back, folding her arms across her chest. "It’s a long story," she said, her voice suddenly quieter. "But the short version is that Lucas made a mistake. A huge one. And it cost me my family. He doesn’t know that, but I do. He ruined everything. And now, I’m here to make sure he doesn’t do it again." "Wait," Lucian said, his eyes narrowing. "What mistake? What are you talking about?" Diana didn’t answer right away. She just looked at us, her face unreadable. "It doesn’t matter," she said finally, her voice tight. "What matters is that Enise needs to go back to the house. It’s the only way we’ll be able to keep Lucas in check." I felt a knot form in my stomach as I remembered Miracle. I couldn't bring myself to go back to that house. I would never be able to be at peace. I didn't want to face rejection from my daughter again as that would break me entirely Lucian groaned in frustration. "I’m not letting you boss me around, Diana," he muttered under his breath. "You might be a damn hybrid, but you’re not the one calling the shots here." Diana’s expression shifted, her smile darkening. "Oh, Lucian," she said softly. "I’m not trying to boss you around. But trust me, if I wanted to, I could." I could feel the heat rising in the room, the tension so thick it was suffocating. But it wasn’t just Diana’s words. It was the way she was standing there, so confident, so sure of herself, as though she knew something we didn’t. Something she wasn’t telling us. Before we could say anything more, Lucian rushed forward, his fists clenched, his eyes burning with anger. He wanted to hurt her, I could see that. But just as quickly as he had charged, he stopped. His body froze in place, his expression shifting from anger to confusion. Diana wasn’t there anymore. Not physically, at least. Her presence could still be felt and a chilling laughter erupted from all corners of the living room. This was insane. It was never the plan. She was coming in our way and I didn't like it. We need to do something else, she would destroy everything we've worked so hard to come up with*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~It had been quiet in the house all through. Everyone still struggled to process what had just happened. We all went to bed without saying a word to each other I tried to figure out why she was so pressed with 'helping' me (bunny ears). What was in for her? If she had so much power as she claimed why didn't she punish Lucas for whatever crime he did against her, herself? Why was she hell bent on using me? So many questions ran through my mind and I couldn't find the answers to them. Eventually, I fell asleep and now we were at our usual spot. The coffee shop The silence in the little coffee shop was suffocating. The air hung thick with unspoken thoughts, and no one seemed willing to break the tension. I could hear the clinking of cups and the low hum of the espresso machine in the background, but it did nothing to ease the discomfort between us.Lucian sat across from Anna and me, his face a mask of frustration and uncertainty. The air in the room was thick with the scent of antiseptic. As I laid in the bed, my body ached from the recent labor, yet my heart was swelling with the purest love for the tiny life I had just brought into the world. I could still hear her soft cries echoing in my ears, a sound that had filled me with a joy I had never known before. My daughter. She was so small, so perfect. I was exhausted, but every thought of her made my heart flutter with happiness.I could not help but smile at how lovely and adorable she looked when I laid my eyes on her.I'm sure Lucas will love her. I mean why wouldn't he? He is the father after all.The sound of the door opening and footsteps approaching pulled me from my thoughts. My heart leaped in my chest, and I struggled to sit up.It must be Lucas. My husband, the Alpha. He hadn’t been there when I was rushed to the hospital in labor, but surely now he would come. Seeing our daughter, I believe he would look at me with love in his eyes, a love I
“Enise?” Anna’s voice was soft, like she was trying not to scare me.Her face was serious, but I saw something else in her eyes.Sympathy? Or was it pity? I didn't like the look on her face but before I could tell her, my vision blurred. When I opened my eyes again, I was laying in bed.I looked around, the memories from earlier crashing into my mind like a wave.I jerked up, wincing in pain but I Ignored it as I tried stepping down from the bed.“ At this rate, I'm afraid you'll be stuck here for months, Enise. Can't you be careful considering you have fresh stitches in your body?" A soft reproaching voice sounded from the door and Anna walked in.“Where is she?” My voice was barely a whisper. Anna sighed. “Enise, you need to focus on your health right now,” she said, avoiding my question. I shook my head weakly, the tears already burning in my eyes. “No, Anna, where is my daughter?” I tried to sit up, but my body was too weak, too shattered. The room spun, and darkness crept in.
Enise POV Five years later Screams, wails and cries of help filled my ears. The desperation as I banged the hot metallic door as I shouted for anyone to come to my rescue.Flames surrounded me,dancing alive, scorching the very same ground I stood. My heart raced as I screamed for help, my voice hoarse from yelling, but no one came. I pounded on the door, my fists raw and bleeding. The fire edged closer, the heat unbearable. At that moment, all I could see was Laura's face, an evil smirk on her face, a reminder of a promise she made when she confined me in those white painted walls. “ Enjoy your life while it lasts. I'll soon send you to hell." I smiled bitterly, my heart finally resigning to my fate. I collapsed on the floor and then… I jolted awake, drenched in sweat, my breath coming in short, rapid gasps. For a moment, I couldn't tell where I was. The memories of that night stirred something deep inside me. I sat up, clutching the sheets as though they were my only proof of

*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~"Enise" As soon as his eyes met mine, he called out. My breath got caught up in my throat. I thought that I was fully prepared but seeing him again in person reminded me of our terrible past. But he still looked undeniably gorgeous. His beautiful hazel green eyes that made him stand out at all times and that perfectly chiseled face, but that wasn't my focus so I distracted myself immediately. His eyes were wide and his lips slightly apart in shock. I can't lie, that reaction gave me the best satisfaction "Mr. Lucas, right?" I asked, totally ignoring his words as I walked up to him, my hands outstretched. He didn't take it, rather, he closed the gap between us and grabbed my shoulders "Enise" He called out again. His eyes going everywhere around my body, from my head to my toes "Enise" This time, it was a faint whisper "Um... Sir, you're making me uncomfortable. What are you talking about?. Who's Enise?. My name is Dr. Denise" I said to him, trying

The door knob turned and the door creaked open. I expected whoever the guest was to at least say something, but I heard nothing which prompted me to turn around My heart always flew out of my mouth when my eyes landed on her small fragile figure. She was staring at me with a mixture of joy and curiosity “Hi there little angel" I waved with a soft smile on my face. It seems like that was her cue to smile to. I saw her little cheeks burn red. She was shy“Oh come on Miracle, there's no need to be shy" I said to her, the smile not leaving my face “Come, come let me give you a hug. Maybe that would make you feel better and less shy?" I asked, my hands outstretched She walked to me and embraced me. Tears welled up in the corners of my eyes I inhaled her scent as discreetly as possible, I didn't want seem weird. I couldn't he
*First Person's Perspective*~Alpha Lucas~“Are you crazy? Why would you pull such a rude and unwelcoming behavior?" As soon as the door closed behind me, I thundered. Marcus turned to me and shook his head" You know, I used to think you were smart and intelligent, but obviously you're not. I can see that now” was his response I gritted my teeth, my hands clenched beside me " You do not have to insult me to get to your point” I answered and he rolled his eyes " I'm just stating facts as I see it, I'm not being rude or anything”He defended and I scoffed“Why have you suddenly started to act this way? You insulted me in front of my guest and daughter. What's all this about? If you have something to say, couldn't you at least wait till after dinner was over and do you have to raise your voice and say insulting words? You know I'm just tolerating you because of how close we are, you know that. So do not push me into doing something that I might regret later" I said and he chuckled

*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~I knocked gently on the door, my hands shaking slightly as I adjusted my luggage in front of me. I didn’t know why I felt so nervous; after everything that had happened, this should’ve been the easiest part. But it wasn’t. It was never going to be easy. The door opened almost immediately, and Lucian stood in the doorway, his eyes wide with surprise. He hadn’t expected this as I didn't even call to let him know that I was on my way over"Enise?" he asked, his voice uncertain. "What are you doing here? And with all your luggage?"I didn’t know how to answer. My throat tightened, and before I could stop myself, the tears started to flow. It wasn’t just the frustration. It wasn’t just the sadness. It was everything. All the things I couldn’t say to Lucas, all the things I couldn’t change. The weight of it all just came crashing down in an instant.Without thinking, I rushed forward, wrapping my arms around Lucian’s neck. I pressed my face into his ches
*First Person's Perspective*~Enise~I dragged my suitcases across the bedroom floor, the wheels scraping against the marble tiles as I hastily packed everything I thought I’d need for the foreseeable future. Clothes, toiletries, some personal items—anything to make myself feel like I wasn’t completely abandoning everything. In my mind, it was just a temporary escape. A break, really. I needed distance. Time away from the house, from Lucas, from Miracle—especially from Miracle. The sound of the suitcases bumping against the doorframe was the only thing that broke the eerie silence of the room. I had no desire to talk, no words left to explain why I needed to go. My heart felt too heavy to even try. I’d failed. That much was clear. I’d tried everything I could to be there for Miracle, to make her feel loved, to make her feel special, and yet, here I was, packing my things like a coward, unable to face the little girl I’d come to adore. The weight of her words—evil—still echoed in my mi
*First Person Perspective*~ Enise~The morning had started out just like any other. I woke up early to prepare for my usual check-up with Miracle, my sweet little girl, whom I cherished the most . She had always been a ball of energy, with a wide smile and a curiosity that matched her age. I had developed a routine with her—checking her vitals, making sure she was healthy, keeping her comfortable. In many ways, I tried to make up for lost times, you know? Even though it really would never measure up to the times I missed in her life. She showed me nothing but love and kindness,But today, it was different, as I walked into her room, something felt off. Miracle was sitting on her bed, her small arms crossed tightly across her chest. Her eyes, usually full of wonder, were narrowed, and she glared at me as I entered."Miracle?" I called gently, my voice soft and warm, hoping to coax her into her usual bubbly self. She didn’t respond at first, but I saw her eyes flicker toward me. Then,
*First Person Perspective*~Alpha Lucas~As the door clicked softly shut behind Denise, I leaned back in my chair, my heart beating a little faster, though my lips curled into a small smile. She had looked so... flustered. It was amusing to me, how easily I could make her blush. I had said that just to gauge her reaction, the words, “Maybe that’s why I’m falling for you,” had slipped out almost on instinct.Of course, I wasn’t sure if it was love—hell, I wasn’t sure I even knew what love felt like anymore. But there was definitely something there, something that kept pulling me toward her, and I couldn’t deny it. Maybe it was attraction. Maybe it was the way she seemed to balance everything in my chaotic life. But no matter what it was, I knew it was leading somewhere. She could feel it too— whatever it wasMy thoughts drifted back to her flushed face, the way she quickly excused herself after I had said that. Maybe it was too much. She was a smart woman, capable and independent, and
*First Person Perspective* ~Enise~The door huge door stood in front of me, polished wood gleaming faintly in the low light of the hallway. I raised my hand and knocked twice, the sound echoing briefly before silence fell again. No response. A frown creased my forehead, and after a moment of hesitation, I turned the knob and pushed the door open.“Alpha Lucas?” I called softly, stepping inside. He was seated by the large window, the evening sun casting an amber glow over his figure. Papers were spread across the small coffee table in front of him, and he looked engrossed, almost distant, as though lost in thought.“Lucas,” I repeated, a little louder this time. His head jerked up, and when he saw me, a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips. It wasn’t the bright, charming grin he sometimes wore, but something quieter, softer. “DrDenise,” he greeted.“Hi,” I said, taking a few cautious steps forward. “Mind if I sit?”He gestured to the chair opposite his, and I took it, smoothi
*First Person's Perspective*~Diana~I reclined on the plush velvet couch in my dimly lit bedroom, the warmth of wine sliding down my throat as I took another sip from the crystal glass in my hand. A small, amused smile crept onto my lips as I gazed into the glittering depths of the crystal ball seated on the table before me.Through its cloudy surface, I watched Enise nervously pace her room, phone pressed to her ear as she spoke to Lucian. The tension in her voice, the frantic look in her eyes—it all brought a sense of satisfaction.“She’s so predictable,” I murmured to myself, my smile widening. This ball wasn’t just any ordinary object. It was a gift from a witch I’d crossed paths with years ago, a peculiar but invaluable artifact that allowed me to peer into the past, present, and glimpses of the future. A rare and dangerous power, but one I wielded with purpose. I knew how to navigate my powers through it and it had served me a lot of purpose. I've accomplished things that I onc
*First Person's Perspective*EniseI rushed back into the house and into my bedroom, immediately, I picked up my cell phone and dialed Lucian’s number as soon as I closed the door behind me. My hands were trembling slightly, the events from just now left me worried and unsettled “Do you know who Diana is?” I asked the moment he answered. My voice came out sharper than I intended. No formalities, no greetings whatsoever “Diana?” he repeated, confusion evident in his tone. “Who’s that? What happened? Did she do something to you?” he asked so many questions at a time but I shook my head as though he could see me“No, none of that. But She says she’s an old friend of Lucas,” I explained. “But she knows things, Lucian—she knows about Miracle being my daughter. She knows why I'm back in the pack. She's the one who sent me that letter, the one who said we should play a game. She knows everything and I'm scared, I'm really scared Lucian. What if she exposes us? What if she tells Lucas every
