Chapter 1

Olivia's POV

"Welcome everyone, thank you for coming. Alpha Leo is busy with work today but will definitely come. Please enjoy dinner first." I had a sweet smile on my face and raised my glass as if I was already a perfect Luna, but in fact, tomorrow is Alpha Leo and my wedding.

But I  knew in my heart that Alpha Leo was unlikely to show up because I tried to contact him twice today, no one answered. The third time Leo finally answered, and before I spoke, he said: "I can't be there." So it was obvious that he knew that I held a thank-you dinner before the wedding. He must be too busy to attend. He must have had no choice. Or something important just stopped him on the way here.

I really needed him here, I wanted to be admitted as the Luna of Silver Moon Pack,  not for pride, but for the reputation of my family. His absence would cause rumors. But what can I do? I am just Beta's daughter, and I have no right to ask him the reason. My family has served Leo's family for about 100 years. My ancestors either died in the pack wars or were best assistants. Every generation was absolutely obedient to Leo's family.

I was no exception. As the only daughter in the family, I thought I would become the first female Beta and take over my father's job. I have received combat training since I was 12 years old, and I also learned some necessary medical knowledge and business skills so that I could become Alpha Leo's assistant after officially becoming a Beta at the age of 18.

Unexpectedly, a year ago, on my 18th birthday, I was summoned by the council and informed that I would become Alpha Leo's Luna at the age of 19. Then 10 minutes later, I was marked as a mate by Alpha Leo in front of my family. The marking or mating process ought to be something private between the couple, but as our marriage was arranged by the council, I had no choice.

That was actually the first time I met Leo. He was 22 years old at the time, with short brown-black hair, deep blue eyes, and strong muscles under his shirt, he was so hot. And I could feel my heartbeats speed up quickly.

"Hahaha... I am the Luna, here is your banana. She is just a servant, but she thinks she is the Luna." The whispering brought me back to reality. I turned my head and saw three girls of the same age laughing not far away, as if they were telling some very ridiculous jokes.

One of them saw my sight, stopped laughing in a hurry, and patted the shoulders of the other two.

I know the expressions of jealousy and ridicule too well. The first lesson of becoming a Luna is how to identify the true face of the women around the Alpha. I held my breath briefly and tried to regain my composure, but my father beside me suddenly reminded me in a low voice that what I did was not perfect enough, not enough, and never good enough. He said: "This is your best arrangement. Smile. Don't bring shame to the family. Don't let me down."

I replied numbly, "Yes, Beta Andrew."

All I heard since I was little was, "Don't eat junk food." I compromised, only at midnight when I really had a breakdown, I would lock the door and binge on chocolate, and then secretly spit it out.

"Don't shed tears, it makes you look weak, and your enemies will mock on you."I compromised, and even when my ribs were broken during training by a male werewolf three times my size, I didn't shed a tear.

"Don't make friends with people of lower class." I compromised, I stopped talking to my friends who had the same interests but were of different classes and instead, I talked to those super shallow bitches about the latest dresses.

"Don't..."

Ahhhh, I've had enough, I really hope that I won't hear any orders after I get married, but do I really have a choice? I may never get rid of my family.

In the following time, the dinner seemed to go on perfectly, but what I pretended to ignore but never succeed was that Alpha Leo didn't show up.

The three bitches no longer hid their laughter at me, and they talked loudly: "Wow, such a great dinner party before the wedding without Alpha Leo, this is so relaxing. We really have a great time."

I stared at them with a sneer, expressionless, but the huge waves in my heart were rolling, beating my remaining self-esteem.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain, as if my entire abdomen was being stabbed by countless knives, blood was running down my legs, and my werewolf mark was burning like it was on fire.

Holly crap, I was pretty sure my mate, Alpha Leo, was having sex with another woman with extreme pleasure.

And I was about to fall into hell because I thought I might experienced a miscarriage. And even worse, I didn't know I was pregnant before, and I drink a lot, which means I might lost the baby forever.
