Whispers of Power

Fiona’s POV

The moment Quinton walked back into the house, I could tell something was wrong. His posture was rigid, his jaw clenched tightly as if he was fighting to keep something inside. His eyes, though, betrayed him—dark and troubled. He didn’t even bother to say anything as he walked past me and headed straight into the living room, dropping onto the couch with an exhausted sigh.

I followed him, concerned. “Quinton, what happened?”

He didn’t respond immediately, running a hand through his hair in frustration. I sat down next to him, gently placing a hand on his arm. He flinched at the touch but didn’t pull away.

“Quinton?” I tried again, my voice softer this time. “Please. Talk to me.”

He looked at me, his eyes filled with a storm of emotions—anger, fear, frustration, and something deeper. Something darker.

“I met someone tonight,” he finally said, his voice rough. “Someone who claims to know about your power. About what’s coming.”
