“Stop worrying. Don’t be too excited, either. I need you to have enough energy tomorrow.”
Before she can respond, he already leaned closer to capture her mouth and engaging her in a passionately long kiss. The goal of it was to distract her so he barely held himself back, diving deeper into her mouth and playfully tangling his tongue with hers. She moaned as he caged her in his arms and he felt successful with his endeavor.
She was somewhat out of it when he finally let go. Her eyes were a little hazy as he smiled at her.
“Go in. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He stole another kiss, urging her to move inside and even closing the door for her.
Killian wasn’t impressed, growling behind him and huffing.
His lip twitched. “Right, go in. Be sure to guard her well.”
The wolf seemed to roll his eyes at him and growled some more.
“I should buy you all some good meat tomorrow. How about that
“Relax. This is a straight road. Look, the turn is still far ahead.”Luna was relieved but she truly felt scared. She’s not sure why.“Have you crashed a car before? How much injury do you get in an accident?” Since they heal fast, she shouldn’t be afraid of getting wounds.Alex grimaced and looked at her again. Her eyes widened and it looked like she was silently reprimanding him.“Depends on how severe the crash was. If you’re going too fast, that would most likely be the worst.”“Aren’t we going too fast?”“It’s a clear wide road. We’re meant to drive fast here. You may see a few cars later.”“Have you been in an accident before?”“Driving? No. I’m good behind the wheel.”It took her a moment to understand what wheel he’s talking about.“How long again before we reached the c
Alex pursed his lips before shaking his head, “I don’t think so. History proved it couldn’t be done without bloodshed.”“That’s a pity.”They stopped talking when a waiter approached with their food.“That smells delicious.”The waiter smiled, “I hope you enjoy them.”“Thank you.” Alex replied, taking the guy’s attention away from her. He didn’t like how the staff smiled at her. In fact, he’d noticed it much earlier. People seemed to stare at her.“You’re too beautiful for this place.” He couldn’t help but lament.Luna wasn’t sure how to respond. Was it a compliment or a complaint?“Should we go back?” That way, he won’t have a problem. Right? His heart skipped a beat upon seeing her expression. “No! No. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable. It’s just . . . I feel like going to try and steal you from me. Look how many people have stared at you since we got here. I’m getting jealous.”Luna’s lip twitched. She was amused by his reaction and it eased her worries. She b
Alex approached her. He held her hand as he asked her to twirl a second time. His admiration for he was clear for everyone to see. Those who have been eyeing him earlier were also stunned by how beautiful she was. They definitely don’t have a change. Those two are a match made in heaven. They were both extremely attractive.“We also have shoes. I might be able to find one that would match your dress, if you’d like that?” She’s not really pushy. If they say no, she’s fine with that.“Yes, get her shoes to match.” Alex made the decision as he knew she’s still reluctant to spend.“Alright. I’ll come back in a minute.” The lady rushed to assist them. Most people hated waiting so she needed to be quick. Another staff noticed and helped her out.“Thank you.”She returned to the couple, holding four-inch heels of the same color as the dress.Luna raised an eyebrow a
“Yes. I’ll be done soon.” Her voice remained soothing as she finished up.His face was grim and the women behind him were extremely worried.“We’ve brought towels and a change of clothes.”“Let me.” He decidedly took them and forced his way in the restroom. The two women exchanged a glance. Should they allow this? The couple didn’t seem scandalous. Should they be worried?“Twenty minutes?” The manager wondered if that’s enough time for them to finish up.The older woman shook her head, “Isn’t that too long? Ten?”“I’ve known men who can finish in under five minutes.” The manager shrugged.“Five, then?”“Let’s do ten. We’ll knock if we hear anything inappropriate.”“Agreed.”Inside, Luna peeked her head and saw him.“What are you doing here?&
“I’ll have them make one with a wolf on it. You can wear this for now. Actually, you should wear this even after we receive the one with the wolf.” His amendment was an assurance she needed. She silently gave him her hand and he smiled as he put it on her. As she stared at the ring and while he’s holding her other hand, he paid for their purchases.“We should go to the restaurant. It’s almost lunch time. We’ll have to wait for them to prepare the food so it’s better to get there early.”“Okay.” Her stomach churned, but not from hunger. There’s this seemingly fluttering movement inside her. She was excited and happy and nervous all at once. She liked the feel of his hand on hers and how he kept her close as they walked. Yes, she felt safe with him. Even with all these people around, their presence hardly registered to her.“Here it is.” When he turned to face her, he saw the way she was looking at him. It was different and it felt intimate. He didn’t want to ruin it so he simply smile
“There will be a fireworks show in a few minutes. It’s going to be loud. Actually, I think we should sit together.” He got up and moved his chair close to hers. Well, that went smoothly. The perfect excuse!“Fireworks? Fire?”“Not that kind of fire. You’ll see. It’s quite beautiful. Not as beautiful as you, of course.”Her lip twitched at the sudden compliment. He’s getting weird. He smiled at her reaction before wrapping an arm around her shoulder.“This is better.”They sat there as they waited and Luna remembered to return his phone and wallet.“Why did you leave your phone with me? I already have one. We could’ve used it to communicate.”“Hmm. I only left to get you a jacket. I didn’t take long, did I?”“Well, no. Still, something might have happened.”“Alright. I’ll listen to you.&rdquo
Alex squinted. Was that a trick question? He suddenly wondered if yes is the correct answer. It was, right?“Yeah? But you can’t use this near a fire or under water. There are special cameras for that, not a phone like this one.”“Oh, okay.” She had an idea. It’s possible to simply capture a photo of his photos, right?Alex decided against teasing her. He may or may not be correct about his assumptions. He went to sit closer to her, “Here. Let’s take a picture together. We don’t have one yet, right?”She seemed dumbfounded by his suggestion. “Oh. Okay.”It would be foolish to refuse him. He grinned at her before propping the camera in front of them. She awkwardly looked at themselves on the screen. Her expression was one of curiosity. Alex decidedly hit the record button instead of snapping a picture. He can just screenshot the video later on for any moment they want to
“Then, when? You keep waiting for the right time, not knowing when it was, do you?” She persisted with her questions and he was stumped. In a way, she’s not wrong. He thought the moment would simply present itself, when everything’s great between them and their desire for each other took over.“You’re right. Still . . . not like this, Luna. I want you and I want you to want me as well.”“I already wanted you since I learned about you.” She muttered through her tears.Alex sighed as he tried wiping them away. “Let’s calm down for now. Don’t be angry. I don’t know why you still can’t believe that I do want you. I will make you my mate. It’ll happen.”She looked down as he tried to reassure her. Why can’t he just do it, though? If he wanted her, then he should simply go ahead. Mate with her and mark her. She was willing from the very beginning. She ke
Alex already came up with a few things they want to establish for the welfare of most packs. He can’t say they’re the best with training, but he’s sure they can come up with the best training program. The other alphas could come in to give lessons once in a while. No one contradicted this suggestion so it was easily given a go signal. They still need to prepare the infrastructure so it would take time. It would be like a training camp, which would only last a few months per batch. Their target date was a year from now, making it quite manageable. Luna was highly interested. She knew it’s a way for their future daughters to meet their mates and it would work the same way for others. It’s a good channel to allow members from various packs to legitimately meet in a safe environment. The year passed by and Luna gave them another surprise. It was unheard of but it made everyone accepting of what’s to come. It also destroyed the remaining doubts in the hearts of everyone. As for an heir, L
When they retired to their room, Alex and Luna stared at each other in all seriousness. Then, they both sighed. The celebration was tiring and they’re glad it was over. They also ended up chuckling at their similar reactions. “Tired?” He helped her take off the crown and the light cape she’s wearing. “Hmm.” She stood still for a moment before doing the same for him. “I’m not wearing that crown every day.” She declared as she stored them in a separate cabinet. “I’m with you. It’s quite impractical.” He went to take a shower and she joined him after getting a change of clothes. As they laid on the bed, Luna tried to relax in his arms. “What are you thinking?” He gently asked while caressing her hair. “Will you share your plans now? The Lycans are no longer a threat. What do you have in mind?” She spoke softly, tilting her head to look at her mate. “Do you foresee other threats in our future?” His question made her pause and he caught the moment she had a vision. He waited and did
Jared was worried. He left his mate and their daughter home. Polly was sick and couldn’t come with him to the celebration. He was reluctant to go but she convinced him that he must. “You’re an alpha now. Your presence is required.” When he didn’t look convinced, she added, “We’ll be fine here. Nothing would happen. Alex already confirmed that there are no more Lycans. No one would attack us while you’re gone. Besides, don’t you remember Luna’s words? We’ll have a son soon.” Her eyes twinkled, looking forward to having another child. She has waited for so long before they were blessed with one. The prospect of having another made her excited. She wanted to be a mother. She wanted them to have an actual family, complete with children. He sighed as he relented, “Fine. I’ll come back as soon as I can.” “I know. Try to have a little fun, Jared. The war is over. When you return, we’ll be able to focus on our own lives. I’d like to see you spend some time with your daughter.” Jared grun
Layla went to the celebration, along with Tyler and his parents. They dared to leave the territory in the hands of their trusted men. At this point, they were quite certain that the Lycans have been eliminated. Or so they thought. The last Lycan was introduced to everyone by the Luna Queen herself. It seemed symbolic, if she was called a peace offering. But why a peace offering? The Lycans didn’t offer them peace. They were quite determined to ruin the werewolves. Who exactly offered the peace? That’s what she couldn’t figure out. “Who knows? Maybe it’s one of Luna’s mysteries. She definitely knew something. Let’s just wait and see.” Tyler replied to her when she voiced out her thoughts. She showed him a tentative smile, which also carried her confusion. She looked adorable in her dress, prompting him to bop her nose. It’s the most he could do when they’re surrounded by many people. He licked his lip, tempted to kiss his mate. Layla blushed when she noticed his movement. She pinche
Brix spearheaded the celebration. They don’t have resident elders yet. To be honest, none of them think they need one. Luna was enough and she knew more than any other werewolf. The crowns were displayed on the platform and each guest couldn’t help but check them out. It’s a sight to see. The couple went around to greet people. They made time to chat with the people they’re really close with. Before anyone could complain about hunger, a ceremony was performed to officially recognize them as Alpha King and Luna Queen. “Didn’t think I would see the day we’ll have royals again.” Someone whispered. “Didn’t think I would see this palace restored to its former glory and actually set foot in here.” Another responded. Everyone observed the ceremony with admiration and respect for the couple. They have proven themselves. They are powerful, having abilities unique to them and empathetic towards their kind. They cared and they were humble. No one believed their reign would be detrimental to
Seeing how everyone has worked hard to overcome the enemies, Layla truly felt useless. She’s not a fighter. She’s not even inclined to train. She’s terribly clumsy. Just like her father, she’s more of a thinker than a warrior. She has a good memory and she likes to read and analyzing things. It’s one of the things which made her believe the city is where she belonged. She helped out where she can, tending to the needs of their many guests. When Luna began healing those which have been injected by the unknown substance, Layla went to assist her. She knew her dad would appreciate certain information and some blood samples, so she took them when she can. Alpha Clyde gave her permission to do so and a little laboratory was set up for her. It’s only for storage and observation as it’s not equipped with the right machines. She already told her dad to come and help out. Alex’s expression darkened when he was informed that his mate has fainted. She worked beyond her limits, resulting to a l
“What was his name again? The bastard’s going rabid.” Austin was quick to report, despite not knowing each detail. “Raul, he’s called.” Nathan grunted in addition, “He’s acting wild. Erratic. We’ll need to corner to him.” “I’m right with you. Leave him to me.” Luna responded, surprising the others. “Why are you here?” “Weren’t you inside?” “He escaped, so I followed him.” “Need assistance?” Nathan didn’t want to hinder her, so he asked. “If you’re not busy, I would appreciate that.” She was not prideful enough to reject their offer. “Where’s Akira?” Alex thought the wolf was after Raul earlier. “He’s busy.” Luna glanced to her left and saw the wolf toying with a Lycan. Why is he being playful at this time? She groaned. “Akira, kill.” She gave the order and the wolf reluctantly obeyed. Then, he went to find another. That’s better. Eventually, she realized why he acted the way he did. The werewolves have already defeated plenty of them. The bodies littered the territory. Almo
When Austin and Kyla joined the others, he heard their murmurs. “What happened?” “There were many of them! We got surrounded at one point. Alpha told us we should go. We didn’t realize he didn’t come out with us. It would be bad if they find him and he has no one with him.” One explained in a guilty tone. “Don’t worry about him. It was intentional.” Luna informed them quite calmly. There’s no hint of worry on her expression, simply determination. The others calmed down after hearing it. So, their leader wasn’t captured. Luna approached the girl, who hesitantly hid behind Austin. “Don’t be scared. She’s our Luna Queen, the one I told you about.” “Kyla, it’s nice to meet you.” She went to hold the girl’s hand and took her into one of the vehicles. “The battle is not over yet. Wait here. We’ll take you with us to the castle once this is over.” “Uh, okay.” Kyla timidly replied. “There’s water and food here. Take what you need.” Luna kindly offered and the girl thanked her. Alex
“Here. Let me show you what she looks like.” Luna extended her hand towards Austin, whose eyes widened.“You can do that?”She lightly chuckled. “Yes. Now, come on. It would be a disaster if you get the wrong girl.”“No, I won’t let that happen.” He quickly reached out and his senses were hijacked as soon as their fingers touched. He saw the girl’s face, then the scene zoomed out to show him her clothing and a room. It was etched into his mind.Luna withdrew her hand and asked him, “Do you remember what she looks like?”“Yes. She’s young, isn’t she?” He would say she’s only twenty or something.“Hmm. Your mission is to rescue her and get her to safety. It won’t be easy.”Austin grimaced, recalling the previous reports on the Lycan women they rescued. He sighed, “I’ll do my best. Hey, is that
