~Alpha Kilhan~
I moved my hand to the other side of the bed, hoping to feel her still laying next to me, but I was wrong. I opened my eyes and found out she was gone, alongside the bag of money that was placed on the couch.A smile slowly curled up my lips as I thought about her again.‘I bet she’d be so shocked to find out I doubled the price.’The previous night, after talking to one of my workers over the phone, I went ahead and texted him, telling him to add one million dollars to the initial price. That was how much she drove me crazy.I was disappointed I couldn’t even get her name before she disappeared. I wanted to know more about her, but she didn’t let me. She solely believed I just wanted to have sex. I did want that, but I wanted more too.She was so different and she made me feel something. She made my heart race. She made me remember that I still had a heart for the first time in a long time.“I’m going to find her. I have to find her.” I muttered as I reached for my phone. I put a call across to my driver and bodyguards, telling them to come pick me up. I needed them to take me back to K-clubhouse.‘I need to make a few more inquiries about her before heading home.’Leaving the hotel, I got a call from my Mom. I almost forgot she was coming back to town very early this morning.“Hi, mother! Are you home now?” I asked, smiling widely.“Yes. How are you?” She asked, and I responded, full of enthusiasm.“I’m great.”“Hmm… you sound pretty excited. I bet last night went well.”“It was the best night ever, Mom. I promise to tell you everything as soon as I get back.”“Are you not on your way back now?”“Not yet. I need to get somewhere first. I’ll be home in an hour or two.”“Fine. Just don’t stay too long. I can’t wait to hear how your birthday went.”“Of course. See you soon.” I hung up, still smiling widely. My mother had always been my best friend, even before the great calamity befell our family. We were the perfect family of three, until something happened… My father was killed.Though, according to the police and investigators, he committed suicide in his office, I never believed that. Not for once. My father was rich, loving, powerful, straightforward and a man full of Justice and honesty. Of course he had lots of enemies. He was a rare Alpha, a good one. He must have done something right that pissed the bad guys off. He always had us his family, there was no way he could have committed suicide. He had zero reasons to do that.My mother and I strongly believe his death was staged to look like a suicide. I promised myself and her that I would get this enemy at all cost. Even if it had to cost my life.We got to the K-clubhouse and I walked in to meet the manager I put in charge.“Alpha Kilhan. What a pleasant surprise.” She uttered with a grin. She wasn’t expecting to see me since I had just been there the previous night.“That lady from last night. Do you know who she is?” I asked, and she shook her head.“I didn’t even know she was in the clubhouse until you approached her. It was my first time seeing her around.” She answered, and I sighed deeply.“Where do I start looking for you?” I mumbled.“However, my bartender had a chat with her last night before your arrival. Maybe he would have some useful information about her.” She added, signaling one of her workers to fetch the bartender.I nodded and waited patiently for this bartender to show up.“But why are you looking for her? You went away with her last night,” she uttered, and I nodded again.“True, and we had the perfect night together but she disappeared before I woke up. I slept so soundly, I didn’t even realize when she left.” I answered with a smile.“This is all so strange. you know? You’ve never come back to ask for more information about our girls before.”“Well, she isn’t one of your girls, is she?” I retorted, and she shook her head.“What’s so different about this one?”“I don’t know too, manager, but I’m going to find out.”The worker finally returned with the so-called bartender.“Damian, please tell Alpha Kilhan about the conversation you had with the lady in yellow last night.” The manager uttered, and Damian nodded.“Last night, she approached me and asked for my help. She said she needed a job and she wouldn’t mind being my assistant for the night because she was in urgent need of some cash and a place to sleep. She happened to be new in New York City so she had no idea it was your birthday.“I told her I would have loved to help but last night was special and we were busy expecting you. I advised her to come back today to speak to the manager. She left my presence disappointed and I thought she was gone until I saw her with you again, sir.” He narrated with his head bowed.“Did she tell you her name? Where she was coming from? Where she might be heading to?” I asked, and he shook his head.“And she didn’t talk to anyone else?” I further inquired, and he shook his head.“Not that I recall, Alpha Kilhan.”I breathed out with my mouth and stood up.“His information isn’t completely useless, manager.” I muttered, heading out of her office. “Don’t hesitate to call me if she shows up again.” I added, before finally stepping out.I pulled out my phone from my pocket and placed a call to my Beta.“Drex, get information on all houses for rent and sale. Get to know their agents, landlords and even tenants. I need to know when she approaches one of them to secure a place to live. Start working on it immediately.” I uttered.“And who is she?” He asked.“I’ll fill you in later.” I responded as I hung up.“You too. Keep an eye out for her. You know what she looks like, don’t you?” I asked my bodyguards and they nodded.“Great. Let the search begin.”*Getting home, I found my mother sitting in the living room with a glass of juice in her hand.“Alpha Kilhan.” She praised teasingly, and I chuckled, walking up to her.“I’m sorry I kept you waiting, Mom.” I answered, planting a kiss on her forehead.“C’mon, it’s fine. I was enjoying myself.” She replied with a chuckle.I slammed into the couch next to her and sighed loudly.“How was your flight?” I asked.“It was normal, thank you.” She answered, and I nodded, shutting my eyes.“So… should I ask or you’re going to start spilling it out?” She asked, causing me to laugh. I opened my eyes and sat up, looking at her.“Last night, I visited the K-clubhouse to spend the remaining hours of my birthday doing something nasty, you know?…”“Of course, I know! When are you going to stop sleeping with different women and finally find your mate so you can settle down? You’re twenty-eight now!”“I know, Mom! Can you at least let me finish? I think I found her.”“What??! Tell me more!”“When I set my eyes on her, I couldn’t take it off. Her eyes kept drawing me closer and closer to her. I felt so comfortable and happy just staring at her. The connection was there. It felt so emotional and physical at the same time.”My eyes dilated as I spoke of her, recalling every moment we spent together. Remembering how tenderly she moaned my name while I was inside her.“Then where is she? Why didn’t you bring her home?!” She asked eagerly and excitedly.“She ran away.” I mumbled, lowering my head sadly.“What?! Why?”“She believed I just wanted sex.”“Then we must find her. She is your mate, Kilhan. I can’t believe you finally found her!” She answered, holding onto my hand.“She’s so pretty, Mom.” I added, chuckling happily. While we both giggled, I saw her countenance change gradually. She sighed deeply and looked away, covering her eyes with her hand.“Hey… what’s wrong?” I asked, as she began to sob.“If only your father was here.” She mumbled, shaking her head in tears.I clenched my jaws and knelt in front of her. “I promise you, Mom. We will find who did this and justice will be served for my father. I swear on my life. His killer wouldn’t go unpunished.” I muttered, embracing my mother and staring into space with a burning desire for revenge.~Celine~ Two weeks later “Grr! Grr!” I threw my hand aggressively to the side of the bed, hitting the top of my alarm clock. “Urgh!” I groaned as I opened my eyes and had a long, satisfying stretch. I laid on my back and stared at the ceiling blankly. “Another day to be who I’m not.” I muttered, yanking the sheets off my lower body. I don’t feel bad that I’m pretending to be someone else, I mean, who doesn’t pretend some time in their lifetime? Being Jessica Hale has been the best decision I’ve ever made. Here in Beacon city, no one knows who I am. I’m just some lone wolf trying to earn a living. After running away from New York City and got here, I rented an apartment, got new IDs, some new wigs and even outfits that are totally different from what I’d wear if I was still Celine Gomez. I had enough money to do all these all thanks to my sweet one night stand. I was shocked to find out he doubled the money I asked for, and I’m indeed grateful. I guess he was really into me.
Alpha Kilhan “Don’t you think that reward is just too much for her?” Drex asked, and I shook my head. “Nothing is too much for my mate, Drex. You of all people should understand this. You found your mate, didn’t you?” “Yes, I did. I’m just worried about you, that's all.” “Don’t worry about me, Drex. I know exactly what I want and I want her. Have you started receiving any calls?” I asked, sitting behind my desk. “Not yet. The papers were shared just this morning. It will take a little time before we start receiving calls.” He answered, and I bobbed, reaching for the files he brought to me. “I think we should discuss our expansion plan to the pack. Who knows? They’ll have some ideas to share with us.” He added, and I nodded in agreement. “Pass a message across to them. We will be having a meeting as soon as possible.” I answered and he nodded, standing up and walking out of the office. I packed up a copy of the ‘Wanted’ posters we shared and stared at her face again. ‘I know t
~Celine~“Do you need a hand?” Xavier asked, picking up another apron and putting it on. “Oh… you don’t have to. I got this.” I responded with a faint smile underneath my mask. “But I want to.” He answered, turning to look at the next customer. “Your order, please.” After finding out my father put a bounty on me, I lost focus. I became so disorganized because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I became slow to prepare customer’s orders and even spilled coffee twice, right in front of the customers. Xavier must have noticed this and that was why he decided to help. ‘Now, there is no way I’m coming out without a face cap or mask, except I change my look.’ I began to think of ways to do so, and I came up with a great idea. ‘I would trim my hair and put my wigs to work. I’ll learn how to apply makeovers that would completely change my face.’ My father may be a smart man, but I’m smarter. After managing to get through the day with Xavier’s help, closing time was finally here. I cou
~Celine~ Today is a special day. It’s the Wolf Moon and here in Beacon City, according to Xavier, it is often celebrated by a masked Moonlight party. Everything here is just so different compared to New Orleans where my father rules. Today in New Orleans, some people never step out of their houses because of how messy it can be at night. My father would even order some killings on this day. It is the greatest alabi he’s always had. Initially, I wanted to stay home tonight, but then Xavier invited me to this party. At first, I wanted to refuse because I have a f**king bounty on me. But later I agreed to go with him. It’s a masked party. Nothing can go wrong. I stood in front of my mirror, faced with my reflection as I began to apply my makeup for the day. There are so many things I’d love to put in place before stepping out of my house and into a party filled with wolves of heightened abilities. I put on my grudge eye makeup, fixed my wine bob wig, and put on lots of body spra
~Celine~Even though I knew deep down that leaving Xavier alone at the party was uncalled for, I couldn’t ignore Alpha Kilhan’s constant sulking, begging me to go home with him. But I couldn’t just make such a decision. I had a life in Beacon City and I couldn’t just let go of it and return to New York City, especially when I still have a bounty on me. My father is probably still turning the earth upside down just to find me. I can’t come out of this mask. Not now. “Jessica baby, C’mon. You don’t have to think too hard about this. We both know we are supposed to be together, don’t we? We feel the same thing. The same intense connection. Why is it so hard to accept this?“Are you scared I’ll hurt you? I will never do that. And if you think I’d be with another woman, erase that thought from your head, I haven’t been with any other woman since we met. So please, come home with me.” He further convinced me, staring into my eyes. I knew he was my mate. But am I ready to settle down wit
~Celine~ Getting outside my apartment, I looked up and found Kilhan already close to Xavier. With one hand, he grabbed him by the neck, lifting him from the ground and aggressively pinning him against the wall of my apartment. “Kilhan!” I called in terror, as fear and awe glued my feet to where I stood. “Uhm… let me go,” Xavier grunted as he grabbed Kilhan’s hand, struggling and fighting for his dear life. Kilhan said no words, but his eyes said a lot. They were burning in rage, and he didn’t seem to mind if Xavier lost his life right on that spot. “Kilhan, please.” I finally moved from my doorstep and moved closer to him. I wasn’t sure what to do to stop an Alpha in such a situation. He was gone in rage. Before I knew it, Kilhan raised his left hand and I saw his claws protrude out of his fingers so fast. My eyes popped wide open as my brain immediately registered what was about to happen. “Kilhan!” I yelled, hastily embracing him from behind. “If you do this, I will never
~Celine~The ray of the sun found its way into my room through my window, hitting my sleepy face. “Uhm.” I groaned, turning to my side so I could avoid the intense brightness I could feel under my eyelids. My eyes slightly opened as I stared at the wall. At first, my vision was blurry, but then I blinked several times until I could get a clearer vision. Memories of the previous night came running down my memory lane, making me roll my eyes. Kiara made me do what I didn’t want. It was indeed pleasurable, I enjoyed it. But, if I had my way, he wouldn’t have marked me so soon. While I thought about it, I recalled we fell asleep cuddling, but now, I couldn’t feel him close to me anymore. I turned to my right to look at him, only to find out I was alone on the bed. He was nowhere to be found. “Alpha Kilhan?!” I called, looking at the door to my bathroom, hoping he was going to answer from inside there or come out, but I was wrong. Everywhere was silent. “Where the hell is he?” I m
~Celine~After successfully admitting Xavier to the nearest hospital, I rushed back to my apartment, still thinking about what he said. ‘How could he do that to him?! To me?! He made himself clear last night! Why did he have to do this?‘That is why he was nowhere to be found when I woke up!’ Getting into my apartment, I began to pack my clothes again. This time, it was to run away from Alpha Kilhan as fast as I could. “I knew I should never have trusted him! I knew he was just like the other horrible Alphas! I will never go with him! I hate him!” I yelled in guilt for Mr. Norway’s life. Because of me, their family was destroyed. I just wanted a normal life! ‘Why would the Moon Goddess give me an Alpha mate after what happened to my mother? If this isn’t cruelty, I don’t know what is!’ I filled two large boxes with my clothes and other important amenities. I emptied my money-safe box and put it in my backpack. “He will never see me again. He will regret doing this.” I muttered
~Celine~ After Two Years “Kendrick!” I called out as he ran out of the room. I sprang to my feet and ran out of the room to grab him, only for me to see that Kilhan had grabbed him already. “Haa.” I sighed. “He’s so fast for a two-year-old,” I muttered, shaking my head tiredly. “Well, he is my son, of course, he’s going to be faster and stronger than any other child. I can’t wait for him to start running faster than this.” Kilhan responded while Kendrick chuckled in his arms. “Time is all you need. Now, can you please get him away from me so I can rest?” I asked with a smile, planting a kiss on Kilhan and Kendrick’s cheeks. “Right,” Kilhan answered and turned to leave. “Mama,” Kendrick called, waving at me as Kilhan started to walk away. “I love you, baby,” I responded, blowing him a kiss before heading back into the room. I got into the room and slammed into the bed. I lay flat on my back as I stared at the ceiling. About a year ago, before Kendrick turned one, Kilhan and
~Charles~ The Next DayWe all stood under black umbrellas as the rain drizzled. In front of us was a priest conducting Mrs Anna’s funeral. Kilhan ordered that his late mother be buried in the compound so she’s always close to home. He needed that warmth. At my right stood Celine, holding onto Kilhan tightly. Sadness was evident on their faces. One of his men held up an umbrella for them. I kept a straight face, adjusting my black shirt and tie as I watched them put her casket into the ground. “Are you okay?” Caesar asked softly, and I nodded, keeping my eyes on the casket. “Yes, I am. Thank you.” I answered. He was the one holding up the umbrella for both of us. I wanted him to stay back at the house, but he insisted that he come with me. His exact words were “I am coming with you, Alpha Charles. I’ll be ready to protect you if anything happens.” Soon, Kilhan, Celine, and his pack members moved forward to pour sand on her casket before it was covered. All this while, I took g
~Alpha Kilhan~ Panting hard, I began to break into the rooms one after the other, leaving Charles and Drex to deal with the men who were watching and guarding the place. I stormed into the fifth room, and what I saw made my eyes widen in terror. Celine sat on a chair and behind her was a man, who had a knife placed against her ear. There was blood slowly flowing from her ear, letting me know he was starting to hurt her. Immediately he saw I was in the room, he moved the knife to her neck. “Take one more step and that is the end. Even though you kill me, I have nothing to lose.” He uttered, pressing the sharp part of the knife against her skin. He pressed it so hard that she winced in pain while she stared at me with her teary eyes. “Kilhan.” She called softly. “Don’t you dare speak, woman!” He yelled, pressing the knife against her skin ever harder. “Hey!” I put my hands forward, hoping he would stop. “Tell me what you want. I’ll give you anything. Just let them go.” I uttere
~Celine~ “Hmmm!” I groaned as my head felt too heavy for my neck to carry. “Hmm.” Though I opened my eyes, I saw total darkness. I tried to move, but I realized that I couldn’t move. I couldn’t move my hands and legs. I tried to open my mouth to speak, but there was a barrier in my mouth too. “Hmmmm!” I moaned loudly again as I remembered what happened before I blacked out. ‘Kendrick!’ I yelled in my head as I began to struggle with my restraints. “Struggling isn’t going to help you.” I heard a distant voice, and before I knew it, I felt someone pull the blindfold bag off my head. The barrier in my mouth was also loosened The bright light in the room stung my eyes, causing me to squint painfully. “Who the hell are you?! Where is my son??!” I yelled with my eyes still closed. The bright white light was directly set in front of me, so when I tried to open my eyes, I saw nothing behind the lights. “It’s so nice to see you again, Jessica.” The voice drew closer, and when then, a
~Alpha Kilhan~ “Thank you so much for coming,” I uttered with a wide smile, slightly bowing to my mother’s friends. “Please enjoy the party,” I added, before walking away. I raised my head and looked around, scanning the living room for Celine but she was nowhere to be found. While I moved further away from the guests, about to start a thorough search for Celine, I saw Charles running down the stairs, panting heavily. I creased my brows and took long strides toward the stairs. As soon as our eyes met, I watched him struggle with trying to keep his composure. “Come with me.” He whispered as soon as he got down the stairs. He turned a turn to the right and I followed after him, with the guards following closely. “What’s going on? Where is Celine and Kendrick?” I asked, taking a glance around to make sure people weren’t watching. “They are nowhere to be found.” He responded with gritted teeth. “What are you talking about?? She was here with you minutes ago!” “Lower your voice!
~Celine~ ~After Three Months~ “Oh no! Kendrick!” I yelled in frustration, staring at him in disbelief. “What? Why are you yelling at him like that?” Betty answered with a frown on her face, moving closer to me and taking him from me. “I just finished bathing and cleaning him up, only for him to poop and mess up his diapers again! The party had long started and I haven’t even shown my face because of him.” I muttered. “Hey, you can’t tell him not to poop when he wants, okay? If it’s about you showing your face to the party, then go. I’ll clean him up and bring him down.” Betty responded, smiling widely at Kendrick. She raised him in the air, still smiling widely at him, and he smiled back at her. I heaved a sigh and nodded. “Are you sure? You shouldn’t miss the fun too. I can quickly clean him up.” “Celine, I’m fine. I can take care of him. You should greet the guests. You're Luna, remember? Plus, I think Kendrick likes me more today.” She uttered, and Kendrick let out another
~Alpha Kilhan~“Alpha Kilhan!” I heard someone call my name from outside the door, causing me to look in its direction. “Who is there?” “It’s Drex. Your mother wants to see you and it’s pretty urgent. Told her you are trying to rest, but she insisted.” “Argh.” I groaned, heaving a sigh. “I’ll join her soon. Thank you.” I dragged myself out of the bed and sat up, letting out another tired sigh. I have been so busy with business these past few days that I hardly have time for myself, and to my greatest surprise, Celine seems to be cool with that. Right now, I believe she cares about Kendrick and her friendship with Betty more than us. I was happy everything was peaceful but I really miss her. Actually, I miss her every day. The very next minute she leaves my side, I’m missing her already. Feeling like a young man in love, I walked to my closet to get a casual outfit. I picked a green shirt and a pair of jeans, put them on, and headed out to see my mother. Walking down the hallwa
~Charles~ Sitting in front of the computer, my mouth parted in a wide yawn as I reached for the coffee cup next to my hand. If I counted correctly, I already spent three hours in the private room, with my eyes fixed on the screen non-stop. I just understood why my late father never left this room. After taking a large gulp from the coffee cup, I took a glance away from the screen to place the cup back on the table, only for me to look up and see that the computer had gone off. “What the hell is wrong with this thing?” I muttered in frustration. It was the second time in three hours that it had gone off and it was beginning to piss me off. I had to call Ceaser both times to make it start working again, but this time, I was going to do it myself. I watched him closely both times. ‘I can do this.’ I stood up and pushed my chair back. I stared at the wire and socket he touched and nodded, assuring myself. I knelt in front of the junction box and picked up the wires. Recalling how h
~Unknown~ Getting out of my towel, I lay flat on the bed fully naked. The breeze coming in from my windows and touching my skin was the best feeling ever. I let out a deep sigh and stared at the ceiling. ‘This would be the perfect time for Betty to be here, laying next to me.’ I thought with a wide smile on my face. It’s been almost two weeks since we last saw each other. After leaving here, she didn’t call or text. And I can’t do the same. She warned me several times not to reach out first as this could be dangerous for both of us. But now, I really want to text her and tell her how much I miss and love her. I can’t just wait for this whole plan to be over and then we can finally be together. While I fantasized about the perfect happily ever after ahead of us, a message popped into my phone, jolting me out of my thoughts. I hastily sprang to my feet to reach for my phone. I recognized that sound perfectly. Anytime it sounded, I knew it was Betty texting. I grabbed my phone an
