Enzo’s POV‘What the Hell do you think that means?’ I asked Marla through a mindlink as we sprinted home in our wolf forms. ‘He didn’t fly?’‘I’d say that bit is pretty self explanatory, Enz. Scarlett’s POVIt took me a long time to fall asleep, even though I was exhausted. Being stuck in that limbo between being awake and asleep reminded me vaguely of being in the coma, though the memories of that time were hazy and odd to me now. Had I been able to hear? Had I been stuck in my body, unmoving, as I was now?I sighed and rolled over. The hut I’d been given was nice enough, if a little basic – just four walls constructed of stacked logs, with no windows, a single stooped door, and a bare-bones dirt floor, covered by a thin, well-worn rug that had seen better days. Eventually the guard came over, his ruddy face drawn, his crinkled eyes tired, and patted me on the shoulder. “I’ll bet she’s gone, my boy, and I couldn’t be more sorry for you. But she isn’t here. We’ve gone over every inch of the castle grounds, and there’s been neither hide nor hair of her. Other than my colleagues there’s not a soul in sight.”I sagged under his kind touch. “I know.
