Enzo’s POV

I blinked, and Marla was gone.

My eyes widened. My jaw dropped.

She was –

Gone.

Just like that. Just like she’d stepped through a portal, only that was impossible, because she had just touched a stone. A random, innocuous stone. That shouldn’t happen. That shouldn’t be possible. There were portals between the four Wolven Realms, all official, all accounted for, and all broken since Alpha Ryker had used mine for his own nefarious purposes. Travel between the Realms hadn’t happened in months.

But what other explanation was there?

“Where is she?” I barked, grabbing Davin by the shoulders. “Where’s she gone?”

To his credit, Davin didn’t point out that he’d told us not to touch it. He just stood tall and said, with only a slightly downwards tint to his eyes, “I’m afraid I don’t know.”

Seriously??? What an ass!!! I would not be surprised at this point to find out Enzo is not an Alpha at all!!! This story started out so well but is definitely becoming a huge eye roll of a joke.
