A Promise of Vengeance

It wasn’t sheer luck but rather a pure coincidence. Alpha Ciandra had crossed out anything related to luck from her life and that was why it was hard for her to explain why out of everyone he met was Maria.

The same woman who had offered her a place to rest when the elders chased her away. Once again, Maria didn’t question her or anything. She fed and provided her with a place to stay. Alpha Ciandra saw the happy smile playing on the woman’s lips, she smiled back.

“I am glad you are happy this time,” Maria said.

“I am too.” Alpha Ciandra didn’t know if it was true she was happy or not. But at least Maria wasn’t worried about her. Furthermore, she didn’t think she would indulge in any one of the horrors she had called her life for the past few months.

Alpha Ciandra finished eating and cleaned the plate. She bid Maria good night and went to bed.

Opening the window, she saw something from outside moving, she closed it immediately with a bang.

Maria came running, “is everything okay?”
