Chapter Four

Arianna's POV

I stood there in the dungeon staring at the high window as I watched the sun begin to go down. I have cried, begged, prayed, and cursed too. I have done all I could. No one was listening to me, no one cared if I died or not. I was nobody, just a weak omega.

As I watched the sun go down, I fought back my tears, I was tired of crying. I had prayed to the moon goddess to save me. Something supernatural should happen, something unexplainable. So I stood here waiting for what would happen.

“Well, if it's not my favorite sister” I heard Nicole as she made her way closer to the cell I was locked in.

“Nicole” I spat coldly as I eyed her. She giggled as she fanned herself with her hand.

“I'm flattered. I mean, did you hear how you called my name? Exactly how I had always wanted to hear it from you” she smiled. Her expression immediately switched as she hit the cell with her palms.

“You think you could get mated to my Lucas?!? How dare you even think about it, Arianna? Lucas is mine! Mine for life!” She yelled so loudly, like a maniac. Her grip on the iron was so strong that if that had been my neck, I would have dropped dead by now.

“Last night, I saw how you blushed when he kissed you, I saw your beautiful smile, your eyes sparkling. You've found your mate, but you forgot one thing” her eyes shooting daggers at me as she spat through gritted teeth,

“I am your older sister. I decide who is in your life and who isn't. I decide who you get as a mate and who you don't. So, my dear little sister, I'm so sorry. Lucas has been mine for a long time now. Neither you nor the moon goddess is going to ruin that for me!”

“Nicole, you could have told me” My eyes turned wet again. I didn't want to cry but I just couldn't help it. Hearing her say these words, it was like a knife was tearing my heart open.

“Did you plan on rejecting him if I had told you that he was mine? Do you plan to reject the Alpha of Dark Wand pack? Can't you use your head, you little omega?” She asked me as she used her index finger to hit her head.

“I would have, I would do anything—-”

“Oh no, my dearest sister. People like you don't listen. You forget that it is a shame and a disgrace to the Alpha if a mere Omega rejects him. Instead, my love Lucas had a better idea” She smirked as she looked at me from top to bottom.

I gulped, this was their plan? My face formed a frown as my brows reached for each other.

What? No way! With stuttering and shaky voice, I called out,

“Ni… Cole?”

“Yes honey, you're guessing right” she smiled so sweetly. This was the smile she always gives to me. My big sist, my best friend. How can she… No!

“Nicole, I know you, you wouldn't do anything to hurt me. I'm your sister” I forced myself to say after swallowing the lump in my throat.

“Awwwn, how cute” she giggled, “Let me explain to you how it happened. I mean, there's no need to leave the earth with unanswered questions when I could clearly give you an answer. You should thank me when I'm done”.

“Now, where do I start from?” She asked and her eyes sparkled,

“Ah ahn! The kiss. You dare kiss my man”.

“I didn't know he—”

“Just shut it!” She growled.

“So… after the kiss and announcement, Lucas and I met, I was angry at first until he told me his plans. Do you wish to know?” She asked with her hands covering her mouth. She was smiling wide like it was something so good she wanted to say to me.

“Lucas has always wanted to get rid of Brian because the idiot is refusing to let Lucas have the throne. My Lucas deserves to be the Alpha and not the weak Brian. Lucas is stronger and courageous, but Brian was born to be underneath his brother. He was born to serve his brother!”

Her eyes filled with rage and Jealousy, I had never seen Nicole this cold all my life. She looked so different from the sister I once knew.

“Anyway…” a smile came onto her face again, “Lucas explained to me that the reason he had accepted you was because a mate, and Luna, was a quick ticket to getting the throne. He wasn't going to marry you, obviously, you are just one of our puns in this game. So I had a job to do to get you off the picture after he had publicly accepted you, and he also had a job to do”.

I narrowed my eyes at her, wondering if she was telling the truth. Was she serious about this?

“I added some drugs to your drink as I found you really irritating last night and wanted to drug you to death. Lucas had to calm me down, so I don't really drug you to death, so I added just a little to make you sleep. That was my job, as for Lucas… you can guess”.

A deep frown formed on my face, and my eyes narrowed as I began to think. I wasn't really that smart when it came to solving puzzles until it hit me hard on the head and I gasped,

“He… he… he didn't!” I forced out the words. But Nicole confirmed it, causing cold to run down my entire body.

“Yes honey, the best way to get rid of some people from your life is to literally get rid of them”

I gulped, “You both… you both are despicable! I will make sure the truth gets out!” I yelled and she chuckled,

“Look around you, Arianna. Tell me, who wants to believe you? You're the one who is in a dungeon accused of two despicable acts, one was cheating on the Alpha and breaking his heart. Two, you killed the Alpha's brother, so tell me, who would believe you?”

“I didn't do any of those things.” I yelled, “I didn't kill anyone. I didn't sleep with anyone."

“Tell that to Hades when you see him. Shau Shua baby sister" Nicole chuckled as she began to walk out of the dungeon.
