Chapter Five

Arianna's POV

My screams and shouts, I wasn't sure, left the dungeon because no one came. I cried till the guards finally came to pull me out of the dungeon. It was time. I didn't struggle nor did I cry anymore. I was going to die whether I cried or not.

The entire pack had come to gather, in the same place where I was mated just a night ago, I was going to be executed. I watched how people spoke angrily, cursing and swearing at me for killing their Alpha. I wanted to tell them that I didn't do any of those things I was being accused of, but as Nicole had said, no one would believe me.

How do I tell the pack that their Alpha had killed his own brother for power? Who would believe me? Instead, that would be added to my crime.

I am already a murderer and a cheater in their eyes. I am a criminal, and there was nothing I could say right now that would vindicate me.

My eyes made their way to Lucas and Nicole, I could clearly see the devilish smirk on their lips as they watched me being tied and pushed to my knees.

I dared to silence the words of the crowd as they were saying hurtful words. But no matter how hurting their words were to me, it was never compared to the pain of seeing my sister and my mate plotting my death together. The tears in my eyes were finished, but the pain remained.

With clenched fists, clenched jaws, and eyes teary, I said to the moon goddess,

“Avenge my death. Cause the Dark Wand Park will never have peace until the truth is out. Avenge the death of Alpha Brian and I, moon goddess, this is my last and humble request”

My head was pushed to the wood, my eyes remained on Alpha Lucas and Nicole. I could see with my side eyes as the sharp axe was raised up by a giant man behind me. Breathing out like it was my last breath, I closed my eyes when I saw the axe coming down to my neck.

“Mate!” I whispered.

“What?!?” Both Lucas and I said it at the same time.

My eyes widened as I looked around myself. No way!

I looked down at myself, no scratch on my body, then I touched my head, it was in place. The scene before me looked familiar, I had seen it before.

Bloody hell! I exclaimed mentally when I saw what was happening. Did time just rewind for my sake, or is this a dream? I wondered.

Then I felt this cool breeze caress me, causing me to shiver in a delightful way. I felt the sweet presence and I just couldn't help but feel it was the moon goddess. A calm voice whispers,

“Here's your chance. Use it wisely”

My eyes closed as tears gathered in them. I never believed that this was the plan of the moon goddess. She did me good, she did me too good, and I will forever be eternally grateful.

Opening my burning angry eyes, I looked at Lucas who said,

“Mate?”

Looking at his face now, I could see that it wasn't a sweet smile I thought it was, but a disgusting one. He was never smiling at me, he was disgusted by me.

“Wow, one of the Alpha brothers got mated. The other seems to still be waiting” someone in the crowd said and I smirked. Of course, Alpha Brian was still alive.

The moon goddess had decided to bring both of us back to life. I will make sure to really use this opportunity very well.

“My mate,” Lucas smiled, a very pretentious smile. How come I didn't see all these before? How could I not have seen it? I raised my brows at him, waiting for him to come and announce to the public that I was his mate and Luna. And he did. He held my hand and raised it,

“My mate, my Luna!”

“I refuse!” I replied loudly for everyone to hear. The crowd gasped in shock. No one dares reject the Alpha. The smirk remained on my face as I watched the man turn to me with narrowed eyes.

“What?” He asked in a deadly manner, I fear no one except the moon goddess.

“I refuse!” I spat out loudly again. Nicole had made me understand how irritating, annoying, and hurtful to the Alpha's ego to refuse him. More reason I did it this way. And this was only the beginning.

My eyes searched for my sister, who had a deep frown on her face. Ah, have your man. Let the dark hearts pair with one another, I don't give a fuck.

Lucas opened his mouth to speak, but before his words could come out of his mouth, I walked away from him and headed straight to where Alpha Brian stood as he watched us.

“Can I be your mate and Luna?” I asked him, and he narrowed his eyes on me. I could see he found the scenario funny and annoying at the same time. Something in me quickly snapped telling me that he was about to reject me, so I said to him in a whisper,

“Trust me, you won't want to reject me. I know how to make you the next Alpha of Dark Wand pack. All that you need to get to that throne, I can give it to you. All you need to do is accept me publicly as your mate and Luna. It will also be a great way to publicly crush your brother's ego”

He looked at me like I had grown two heads, and I smiled sweetly at him. It wasn't fake like Lucas's own, but a real genuine smile because I was happy that he was alive. This was the same Alpha that had died in my hands.

I closed my eyes and opened them again, the pain and tears replaced with fire in those eyes as I prayed he would accept my offer.

Alpha Brian, in front of everyone, raised my right hand up as he announced loudly,

“My mate, my Luna!"

Silence enveloped the place, but I didn't care, I smiled at him as I mouthed a thank you, but he scoffed as he said in a low voice,

“Let's see how you can get me the throne”
