I didn’t know why I stayed behind but I did.

I looked at my dumb self. My body lay on the ground, dead, drowning in a pool of my own blood. The black wolf howled and everyone followed him, like a ceremony, as if I was a criminal.

Maybe I am.

“Is it true?” Frederick growled as soon as he closed the door behind him.

After throwing me in the pit, burning me, everyone retreated to their houses. I heard them talking about me like a proper criminal. I protected all of them. My actions led them to have better lives. Now, I was the scorned soul who was everyone’s enemy.

No one saw me as me.

The thought made me sad. I followed Nialliv to her room, where I found her with Frederick. He was angry.

“She was lying, Fred. I swear. I don’t enjoy having men all around me. I am faithful to you.”

“And your daughter?”

Nialliv lowered her head, thinking. It seemed she couldn’t deny her daughter. She placed her hands on Frederick’s chest and slowly raised her head, showing her pitiful face. One of

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Is This Purgatory?

It takes a moment for any life to flip over and change.I should’ve known no one was trustworthy. Adolphus got his revenge by getting a deal from Nialliv. I died. He lived on.I held my fist to my heart, hitting repeatedly. It hurt. Waves of pain rushed all over me, making me feel alive and at the same time, I felt lost. The memories flashed before me from the moment my parents died, even what I saw after I died.“Show them what you can do, Ebony.”Two hands grabbed my shoulders, steadying me. My heart hurt more, my eyes refused to open and my body trembled. It took me a while to take in who was in front of me.Long black hair that never lost its fiery, natural colour, hanging in waves around some kind of shoulders. There was a face I didn’t recognize at first. The tears rushed to my eyes and didn’t waste time spilling over.“Ebony,” her voice looked worried. For the first time after a long time, I missed this voice and how it worried about me.“Ebony!” the voice said again. “Ebony, t

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Apologise

I sucked in several breaths and started my usual ranting in my head. From the receptionist to the one who was responsible for the whole fiasco: Frederick Jenkins. I needed to remind myself that this was all a purgatory to stay still. I should stay strong to cross over. Being stuck in a place like this would be horrible. Those facts helped me remain strong and not let him get to me.He was the devil, reincarnation of all evil, an arrogant bastard and a sick jerk.My gaze finally strayed to the devil himself. It looked like he was already here. Before, my aunt left and I had to look for a cheaper room all around town. I managed to find one at the end of the day. Luckily, it was a small town. There was a sitting place around a warm hearth.Frederick Jenkins, the devil. Luke Carter, another devil. Easton Hudson, the third devil and the last, maybe he was their minion. They were the big three. They stuck together like glue and their associative packs were also powerful in the council. Abou

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Aunt Freda

My surroundings came back to focus. The soft light from the lamp because I didn’t want to wake my aunt. The comfortable bed that I forgot how nice it felt. And then, rain. It was raining like I remembered. These parts experience rain a lot. It was the most lovable weather for me. The smell in the air, it was intoxicating.I searched for how the purgatory worked on my phone. There was nothing in it. No matter how many times I twisted what happened in my head, I couldn’t understand it. There was one reason why he was there. He was already there. My aunt woke up around 7. She stared at me as if I was mad. It was until she did that, that I realised I was sitting in a pose, holding my pen as if I was smoking. I smoked before. Sometimes. When I had things to think about. She slapped my shoulder.“Get up! Get up! We have a busy day today and you’re acting like a delinquent already. Stop this madness! I didn’t raise you to be like this. You were a shy, beautiful girl. What made you act like t

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   This Is Reality...

I had two thoughts in my mind when I looked at Frederick approaching with his charming smile. First, I felt so good with this girl that I was sure we’d become great friends if we had the chance when I was alive. It felt wrong to me, especially when I knew this was the purgatory. I didn’t want to feel what I lost all those years because it would make me miserable, only because I never tried looking around. Second, if this was the purgatory and I was supposed to see the perfect choices I missed, why was I forced to deal with this bastard again? Shouldn’t he stay away from me? “I am Alice,” she told me. “This is my name. Keep it in mind. I will leave now. Good luck.” “Where are you going?” my voice came out desperate, which wasn’t intended. Did she just give up on me in front of my enemy? Maybe we weren’t meant to be friends. I want this purgatory to end now. “Frederick,” I whispered to myself and I was so happy that he didn’t get to hear me because I just messed up. He didn’t int

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Alice

The next day, Alice came to visit me. My aunt hugged me so hard that I was about to suffocate. Seeing her alive, in front of me, brought tears to my eyes. This is my reality now and I should protect it. I shouldn’t let her die again, because of a stupid accident.“You don’t know how worried I was,” my aunt cried. “I felt like I was about to lose one of my children. Stay away from the roads from now on.”“I can’t believe she pushed you on the road just like that,” Alice said. “I had to run as fast as I could to stop that car but I couldn’t. The world stopped for a moment. I thought I’d have to bury you the first day you came to Saulville.”I swallowed my pills. “I am fine. The pack doctor did a great job. By the way, you didn’t introduce your full name to me. You’re not just Alice. Aren’t you? You have a last name.”My tone was accusing her of keeping a basement secret. She laughed.“You’re right. I am Alice Avery,” she smirked mischievously. She still kept the last part of her name a

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Remington

When my aunt parked the car, she was mesmerised. The Remington family house was big and built in a way to allow a lot of trees to grow. Saulville was also a town with a lot of vegetation. Werewolves liked being basic, using nature as it was.“I can’t believe Petra used to live here,” my aunt whispered. “Let’s get over with this! I am sure your aunt won’t close the door on your nose.”We moved to the house and I knocked on the door. Three knocks. My aunt wanted to add more but I explained that they were werewolves. They had great hearing senses, unlike us.As expected, a woman opened the door. Before my aunt could talk, she mentioned to us to follow her. I was surprised. The first time I came here; they closed the door on my nose. Aunt Freda was baffled; she couldn’t believe the woman didn’t ask us anything. I had to stop myself from explaining to her. I hated that she didn’t know about all the rules.Well, the Remington fought in the war and not many of them survived. Frederick sent t

These words sealed my fate.My own breathing picked up pace, accelerating, my mind not knowing what to say, the hair on my nape rising on high alert.“You know what, never mind. It’s impossible.”“I am sorry.”I lowered my head, feeling truly sorry about my recent behavior. Because I thought it was purgatory, I didn’t see the need to control how I acted. It must have been confusing to her. No one could change drastically in one day, unless she was acting…“No, you don’t have to. I can see that you were acting all this time, keeping your thoughts to yourself. I am not mad. You tried your best to keep it together after your parents died. And I tried too. No one is to blame. We’re just surviving.”“I am the same Ebony, aunt. I merely woke up. Being naïve won’t take me anywhere. I should rely on myself. It’s not that hard once I get used to it.” And I was used to it. “I want you to return home and take care of yourself and my cousins. I want you to not worry about me. I am strong enough t

I levelled him with a hard stare. This was officially, in this life, our first meeting. He was wearing a hoodie like me. Only mine was grey and his was black.I didn’t know how it happened but I learnt to accept it. I always accepted everything and this was no different. Like how I couldn’t shift, how I was sick, how my aunt couldn’t keep me… I accepted everything. However, I couldn’t accept this bastard’s existence in this life. What was he doing here?He had a ball in his hands, twirling it between his fingers. He was watching me.Despite my resolution to stay away from my enemies and build my life like I wanted, I met his stare head on, with a glare of my own. I couldn’t believe I let myself fall for his schemes. For a moment, it was as if we were the only ones in this world.Him with his golden eyes and I with my blue ones.He was surrounded with a devilish aura, worse than Frederick. He was my true enemy, my worst enemy. I seethed for what he did to me. Everything came back, haun

Rayleigh laughed.“I am being serious here,” I pouted. “Grandpa left me with you because I requested so. I want to talk to you alone. It’s sad that Chronos isn’t around anymore but I think it’s for the better. Now, no one has to take meaningless responsibilities. I guess without them, everything will be peaceful.”“How do you know…?”I cut him off. “C’mon! You’re a smart man. You know there is no way a five years old child will talk like this. I’ve lived through two regressions and I’ve come back again as part of the plan, only this time, this is the final phase. We can’t lose.”“Ah! What happened? Why did Chronos disappear?”“My father was supposed to be the sacrifice. I don’t know why but unlike all the other Chronos sent, I am the only one who got to regress more than a decade. That’s why they left the burden to me. Since my father is still alive, I assume that Chronos took the hardest decision in his life. He chose to die and take the others with him. I don’t know if I should feel

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Back Again

EBONY’S POV:I opened my eyes early in the morning. I drank my milk and sat with my parents having breakfast. They laughed together and nothing reminded me of these moments. I have been waiting for my father’s heart attack for two weeks now and it didn’t happen.I checked my tattoo mark and it was there, just faint and impossible to notice.“Sweetie, do you want more milk? You’ve been sipping on your glass while it’s empty,” my mother said.Mom had long black hair and the palest, bluest eyes I’ve ever seen. They weren’t the normal typical blue. They were lighter and paler, as if they were diluted by white and became as blue as the sky early in the morning when the sun had finally settled in place.“Yes, mom.”And I was five.I couldn’t believe that it worked. My father was sitting there, wearing glasses and reading his early morning newspapers. Our house was small and it was full of magical artifacts. Maybe because I was five, I didn’t remember them. Or maybe because a lot happened af

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Frederick

FREDERICK’S POV:I stood outside, thinking about everything that happened to me, all the regressions, the people we lost. I’ve grown numb to all the deaths. As long as Adolphus was alive, there was always a chance to change the outcome. My final role was to kill him. For the regression to happen, he had to die after her. Now, whether we wanted it or not, things would never be the same. I would go back to the kid I was and Adolphus would go back to his old self too. To be honest, I was always jealous of how he had a choice in remembering or not.He got out of the underground cell built specifically for today.“You certainly put so much into this,” he said.“Of course. But this is where our role stops. No matter how much we want to influence things with our current memories, it won’t ever happen. We won’t remember anything.”“It’s true. But this is the price we have to pay if we want it to work. We only need to someone to warn them. They will do the rest. If it doesn’t work again, then

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Ebony

EBONY’S POV:I was sweating profusely. I would die. I would certainly die. For the second time. I knew this was coming but I didn’t expect it to be this soon. I was trying to make a plan to fix things but it seemed all the effort I spent on that was a waste.“Adolphus, please be gentle.”Adolphus was confused. “Aren’t you mad that I killed your father?”“I’m sure he wanted that. He didn’t play a big role in my life so it doesn’t matter. But can you untie me?”He didn’t untie me because Frederick was ready to shoot me. But thinking about it, didn’t he kill me before too? No, he said that Adolphus must have poisoned me so I was dying anywhere. But I didn’t cough blood, which meant it could be that I wasn’t poisoned.‘Don’t overthink. These jerks planned a lot that they won’t say. Well, since we have no choice, let’s just wait till they settle their score. Maybe they’ll fight.’“Wait a second, you look like shit. Did my father beat you that hard?”Adolphus shot me a glare.“Woah! My fath

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Adolphus

ADOLPHUS’ POV:Instead of finding Frederick, I found her father. He was waiting for me in the middle of a clearing, playing with some cards. I shifted back to my human form.“You’re late,” he said. “I expected you to get here faster.”“Where is Ebony?”“With Frederick.”“Alright! I will go find her.”“I am afraid that you can’t do that,” he waved his hand and something shifted in the air. “You have to stay with me here. I want to fight you.”“What are you planning, both of you?” I growled. “She’s your daughter.”“I know.”“And you want to leave her alone.”“Frederick said that every time, you said the same words. That’s why the plan was for you to hate her but you still didn’t do that. He wanted you to hate her, to reject her while she wasn’t aware that you’re her mate. But it didn’t happen. I know why a part of phase 2 failed. When planning, no one thought of how my daughter is a variable.”“You won’t stop me.”I shifted and started running. He didn’t stop me. I thought he was all ta

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Frederick

I woke up in a cell. It was easy to recognize it because I’ve been there multiple times before. It reminded me of the torture I was subject to and how I suffered. I didn’t want to go back. And where was my father? The cell was dark. I couldn’t see anything. I tried to move my hands but they were tied. I was on a chair. I had to wait for a long time. I lost track of counting. Maybe it was the third time I reached one hundred.‘This is getting weird. We were with dad and then everything went black. Any idea?’Yeah, but I don’t wanna say it.‘Ammm… Yeah. Horrible. Dad is a jerk.’After what seemed like an eternity, the door opened. It was behind me and I finally caught sight of a lamp and a desk in front of me. Someone stepped inside. I felt him in my bones. Fucking Frederick.“Did you have to make my father into a jerk?”“He understands the consequences, don’t worry?”Frederick walked around and sat on a chair, not far from me.“How do you feel?”“Seriously? You’re asking me that? I fee

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Adolphus

ADOLPHUS’ POV:When I saw a white wolf, I was confused. She was running and she didn’t care about the three that followed her. It intrigued me. And then, I felt my mark on her and knew it was my Ebony.I was stricken by how beautiful she was. She looked so free that it made me sad. She didn’t get to shift before and now, she felt how important it was.I didn’t want to overreact but I wanted her. Seeing her naked had only made me want her more. And then, there was her father. I was shocked. When Frederick said someone was telling her things, I didn’t expect it to be someone who was supposed to be dead.‘We gotta do it.’It’s hard to do it.‘We cannot run from this. We have to send her back and as quickly as possible. If she regresses to a time where everything can change, it will be better for all of us. It will undo everything.’But she will remember.‘It doesn’t look like she is suffering anymore. Look at her. She is happy. If she goes back, she will get what she lost and she’ll have

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Down The Cliff

I was a wolf. I was running as fast as I could in the forest, forgetting everything that happened to me. It was so wholesome that I didn’t have to think about anything else. Nothing mattered but running.I felt freedom. Being one with the wind. For thirty years, I’ve never shifted once and here I was, running like a wolf. Nova was happy too. We were happy, ecstatic even. It was a feeling I’ve never felt before.I kept running and running, the wind over my fur but I didn’t feel cold. On the contrary, I felt complete. I finally had the chance to become what I was, a werewolf. We rolled in the grass, chased a few rabbits but didn’t catch them and howled. For the first time, I felt like a child.I didn’t care about anything else.I only stopped when the moon felt so wholesome. I stared at it for a while before I heard a laugh. When I saw who was laughing, I remembered my father, Brandon Wildknight.“Petra was white like you,” he said. When he stood next to me, I realized I was taller than

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   When The Past Catches Up

EBONY’S POV:I closed my eyes and waited for the blood to ooze from me but nothing happened. There was also the fact that I had to deal with a lot of pain. I laid on the ground and curled into a ball. There were a few more gunshots but I didn’t care. It was too much to handle. I hated pain. I hated everything that made me suffer. If this was how shifting worked, I didn’t want it.I heard a crack on my back and then a series of similar sounds followed, but it was slow. So slow that it put me into agony. I wished to sleep it off. Or maybe give my wolf control. Can you take over?‘I am. Why do you think it hurts? It’s because I am taking complete control. Your body is fighting it because you have Wildknight blood.’I felt a warm hand on my hair. It caressed me and then, I smelled something. It was like a smoke that made the pain fade. Slowly, I lost consciousness.Again, my wolf and I were sitting one next to the other. I was conscious of myself so it didn’t sound like a dream and it did
