Chapter 38: Old Time Truth

Regina’s POV

My whole body turned cold instantly.

Shit…someone had recognized us…SHIT!!!!

“Hover, we need to leave. NOW!” I pleaded, trying to pry him off the terrified staff member.

Hover’s eyes were bloodshot. He seemed as though he didn’t hear me at all.

“Tell me he’s lying!” he screamed again, but I yanked him back with all my strength.

“Let’s go!” I shouted, dragging him away as the crowd started to close in.

We bolted towards the car, pushing through the mass of people. Someone were shouting “catch them!”; but we pushed through anyway.

My heart pounded, adrenaline surging through my veins.

We stumbled into the car, and I fumbled with the keys, my hands shaking. The engine roared to life, and I slammed my foot on the gas, tires screeching as we sped out of the market.

It wasn’t until the market faded into the distance did I have the time to roar at Hover:

“What the fuck were you thinking?! Exposing ourselves like that? We need to get out of here as fast as we can!”
