Chapter 40: Crazy News

Regina’s POV

After gathering our strength and organizing our thoughts, Hover and I prepared to hit the road again.

We were now officially heading toward my hometown—Ever Moon Pack.

My emotions were a tumultuous mix. Coming back home stirred memories of a life I had left behind. Before, I had once been a princess, cherished and respected. Now, I was returning as a refugee, hunted and haunted by the past.

A couple of hours later we were near the border. As we came close to the checkup point, I pulled out a worn duffel bag filled with disguises.

“Where did you get these?” Hover glanced at me, asking.

“From the market. Before you punched that guy to the floor—Eyes on the road.”

We couldn’t risk being recognized. Because ridiculous as it may seem—everyone in Ever Moon Pack was hunting me down and seeing me as a murder.

I chose a simple, nondescript outfit—jeans, a faded hoodie, and a baseball cap to hide my face. I handed Hover a pair of sunglasses and a hat to obscure his features.
