Chapter 6

He was about to reply when someone knocked on the door. It was one of the servants with a lunchbox.

Julian took the lunchbox and put it on the table, taking out a bowl of soup. “I asked the chef to make you some warm soup. You should eat something light for now.”

I said coldly, “Get lost, Julian Long.”

Instead of getting mad, he brought the soup to my lips and said gently, “I’ll leave after you finish this soup, okay?”

When I ignored him, Julian continued softly, “I know I was wrong, and you can yell at me however you like. I won’t contact Sunny again from now on, so let’s go back to our life together.”

He had never talked to me so tenderly before, but his words had no effect on me anymore.

“You can save it. If you want my forgiveness, you’ll have to give me back my grandmother and my baby. Can you do it?”

I had given up on him, and with the loss of those two lives between us, it was impossible for us to ever get back together.

Julian lowered his gaze dejectedly. “I’m sorry.”
