Wait a damn minute. I squinted and leaned closer to the windscreen and so did Lorraine. We were completely engrossed in whatever scene gradually unfurled before us, because— what the hell?

This hotel was miles away from the pack and was the location for anyone who was trying to be secretive with their actions. But Esmeralda? It couldn't possibly be.

The man in question, whom we didn't recognize had quite the ‘I’m a wealthy man' vibe that made my toes curl. He looked like someone famous and respected and for a second there, I was sure I'd seen him somewhere or met him.

“What do you think she's doing here?” Lorraine asked me without turning. “I bet my last ten dollars that she'd be doing something diabolical.”

“Maybe it's a meeting?” We kept our eyes on them and the entire situation flipped right before our eyes. It definitely, definitely wasn't a meeting.

He wrapped his arms around Esmeralda and pulled her closer, crouching low to place a brief kiss on her lips, then it deepened
