Chapter 3: half truth

I swallowed and nod. "Like it never happened." I agreed and pulled my arm free of his grip and fixed my clothes.

As I left the room and closed the door behind me, the ache between my legs mocked me with a memory that I will never forget. 

Forget Elena. Forget about it. Everything will go back to normal tomorrow. I chanted in my head as I made my way out of his room and hostel. 

I still couldn't believe I had mistaken Asher for Jason, straddled him and didn't give him a chance to protest as I practically seduced him. Why hadn't he said a thing? Why didn't he say Maggie's name? If he had I would have known who It was right?

I shook my head, blinking back the wave of tears I felt. I sniffled and continued my way and froze when I saw the familiar person, Jason. My heart thrummed. How could I face him after what I had just done? 

“Hey babe.” He called out as he ran to me with his phone flashlight pointing at me.

He looked surprised to see me, as he should since I hadn't told him I'd be coming over. 

Jason had been my boyfriend for over a years. We met at this very when I was in highschool while him and Asher became friends and roommates in college. 

We never really had that spark but seeing Asher having that crazy college experience I decided to give it a shot too. Jason was great, not a very good kisser but he was sweet and would buy me almost everything i didn't ask for. 

He wasn't Asher, the star of the college, he was the drop dead gorgeous handsome type. Jason could attract a girl or two when we are out but all the girls would turn around with fallen jaws after seeing Asher.

"Babe?" His thick brows frowned, with a look of confusion. I nervously smiled, awkwardly stopping so he wouldn't notice how I walked. If he saw, he'd definitely find out. 

"Yeah." I croaked, closing my eyes in frustration. This night couldn't have gotten any worse. 

He smiled when he reached me, towering over me. "I wasn't expecting to see you here," he leaned forward for a kiss but I dodged it. I instead kissed his cheek and gave him an awkward smile.

I felt so guilty it was eating me up inside. 

He pulled away, his brows raised at me. "What's wrong?" He asked. 

I gave another awkward smile. "Oh nothing," I lied at his face. "I just feel my mouth is bitter guess I'm gonna be sick." 

Was I being too obvious something happened? I didn't know how to act. This was the first time I had to lie. I was always the 'good girl' like they had labeled me for years. A good girl doesn't sleep with her best friend whose girlfriend was her friend. 

If I was being obvious, Jason didn't show it and smiled, nodding. " So why are you here at this hour and wearing this sexy clothe?" His eyes twinkled, as his eyes drop to my clothe. I flushed, not because his words invoked the fire Asher had earlier but did the opposite. 

I shifted on my feet. "I..”

Come on Elena think. "I was coming to surprise you but I saw you weren't home, decided to see Asher for a while I was about leaving, I'm tired.”

Jason shrugged, shifting the bag in his hand. "Oh. That's better though he's having the full moon problem." 

Back in the pack if an alpha is having the full moon issue then it means they found their mate but ain't mating.

Concerned curled in my belly. Was he okay? Is that why he had been trying to sleep and practically screwed him?

"Surprise me? Wow." Jason pulled me out of my thoughts. "What kind of surprise?"

I smiled nervously. "Just a sweet surprise. Nothing special. But I must go now I've stayed too late I don't want to get caught." 

"Oh," Jason murmured, disappointment written over his face. "We'll see you tomorrow then?" He came in for kiss again but I ran off and waved him good bye and tried my best to laugh so hard he'd think I was playing. 

Looking back. "I'll see you tomorrow." I said and ran off.

If I can still walk that is. It was taking everything in me to make my walk, and run look natural, but the ache between my legs was more than I expected.

When I got back to my hostel, I was breathing hastily. Maggie was already asleep but when she heard me stumble she woke up and puts on the lamp, and winked at me. 

"Well, see who's back." Shee drawled out playfully. I wished she hadn't because now I felt even more guilty. "I introduce to you ladies and gents the girl who had just gotten shagged?" She laughed pointing at me.

"Gosh Maggie," I tried my best to remain calm."I did not get shagged." 

Oh gosh I did. Hard by Asher, but I couldn't say that right?

After I got into 12th grade I decided to go to another city, the same city as Asher who was already in college, that was a bit far away from home, Asher spoke with his friend who was Maggie's brother to take me in and though it was against the hostel rules they had to put some strings. Only than could I stay close to my best friend, some one I know. How could I do this to Maggie?

Maggie lets out a rush of disappointed air. "Really? But your hair looks a mess and you look all f**ked. Even your skin looks sweaty. I know when someone just got f**ked lena." 

I gulped, my hand instinctively going to my hair to fix whatever was a mess. " It's very windy outside." I half lied.

"Uh huh, what a lie" Maggie didn't believe me and I didn't blame her. I didn't sound convincing at all. Guilt bit through me. 

“Gosh what do you want to hear? That I made a mistake and gave my virginity to someone else?” I blurted out and walked into bathroom to take a shower.

After a while of crying and I felt relieved I got out to see Maggie waiting for me at the door with a “i’m sorry” face.

After I put on the huge shirt that covered my small figure to my knees, I made my way to my bed and sank in the sheets. 

“Babe,” Maggie called out.

“Maggie, I know you care but seriously not now.” I muttered and Maggie nodded and put off the lights. I could not see myself lying to someone but In one day I turned into a big fat liar.

I sighed, forcing my eyes closed and

wishing I could just forget the night but knew that it was impossible.
