Chapter FIFTY EIGHT:

“What are you thinking about?” Atlas asked softly. They were laying together after Atlas had cleaned them both up, Anais’s head on his chest.

Atlas had been brushing his hand through Anais’s hair, grooming her. He noticed that the omega’s scent was wavering. He knew Anais was thinking about something she wasn’t sure of and worried about. Atlas wanted to give her the chance to talk about whatever was bothering him.

He continued to try and read Anais’s scent more than he had before. Anais was expressive and he wondered if the omega had been this way all along and Atlas had ignored it, or if she had controlled herself tightly the first few months.

Anais sighed and shifted slightly. Atlas felt the brush of her rounded belly against her hip and he reached over to stroke it. He felt Anais’s mouth lift into a smile against his skin and it made Atlas smile in turn.
