"Do you do this every morning?" Leslie asked as she helped Jessica who had been busy the whole time. She still had this stiff aura to her but after the morning coffee, it seemed like she relaxed a bit. "Not every morning. Some days it's less extravagant and some other days I'm too busy to make one" Jessica explained as she flipped the cinnamon pancakes in the pan. The aroma of her cooking a storm filled the atmosphere. "Why?" Leslie mumbled. "You have house staff for all that. You can kick back and relax" "I am used to cooking my meals myself. It seems like I have been doing so for a long while now. I just extended it a little to feed Dawson and Xavier too" she said pouring new batter into the pan. "Moreover I now do it as an appreciation for them allowing me to stay here and taking care of me in many ways" Jessica added silently. Her mind cast back to the days and weeks before that time. It seemed like Xavier was always finding a solution to everything that came up with her. W
"Jessica I must say you make great meals," Jason said as he leaned into his seat. Jessica had outdone herself with the breakfast making a nice spread that was only seen in movies. The men Jason and Brian devoured the meal so quickly that there was barely anything left on the table. "I feel so stuffed. Thank you" Brian said. "I think I need to take Jessica with me back and allow her to teach my staff to make such lovely meals"Xavier looked up and stared at Jason intently. What did he mean to take his wife somewhere? "Calm down Mr. Delgado, I only said so because she is such a good cook" Jason commented in a sly voice. "Jessica what I mean is that I am sure your restaurant will do very well," he said facing Jessica. "You can trust me I am a business expert and I know when something will do well" "Thank you all for the generous compliments" Jessica replied faking a bow which made everyone burst into small giggles. Angel and another house staff began to clear the table as they sat
Jessica rushed downstairs to call Xavier who was now having a light conversation with Jason and Brian. "Xavier," she said trying to catch her breath. Xavier stood up to face her. Was something wrong? Why was she panting so much? "What is it?" he asked holding her shoulders. "It's Dawson," she said trying to steady her breathing. She could barely get another word when Xavier was flying out of the living room to the staircase. "Wait," she said as she hurriedly tried to catch up with his speed. As Xavier took two steps at a time over the stairs he prayed in his heart that nothing was wrong with Dawson. His heart sank in his chest. His gut feelings did not seem alright to him and he hated them. He pushed open the door and saw Dawson sitting in the position that Jessica had left him. His face looked pale. From a distance, it was obvious that he was not fine. "Papa" Xavier said cautiously as if he was trying his best not to scare him. "Why are you so loud?" Dawson said almost lifeles
Xavier prayed to all the gods he could remember. He was not one to believe in religion or practice them but he felt the need for a power beyond his control. His grandfather had been sick for a while and had now outlived the predicted time by the doctors. It was indeed a miracle so maybe out there somewhere there was a power who would help keep his grandfather until he was ready to let go. "Can you be faster?" Xavier screamed at the driver. Jessica who sat beside the driver glanced back at Xavier and Dawson. Dawson had his eyes closed and his hands crossed across his chest while Xavier looked tense it was impossible to miss it. "Can you stop screaming?" Dawson mutters slowly. "You are giving me a headache"Dawson had proved stubborn and had refused to go with them to the hospital. It took the begging and coaxing of everyone who was available to get him to go. They promised to bring him back but Xavier swore to only bring him back if the doctor had cleared that he was well and perf
The doctor took Dawson in and assured both parties who looked frightened that it was a fever and it was sure to come down with fever reducers. Ross however said that they needed to keep him in and monitor his temperature all night. Ross cleared them to go home and Dawson insisted on it. With so much hesitation both of them went home. While they were in the car Jessica felt the need to apologize. "Xavier," she said when she finally plucked up her courage. Her voice however sounded like a squeaking mouse. Xavier opened his eyes and glanced her way. Her face looked tightened and not because she had undergone any procedure but because of the scare that Dawson had given her earlier. "I really do not know how to say this," she said clearing her throat and sitting up. Xavier's expression was clearing telling and assuring her to say it. His expression put her at ease but she did not know how he would react when she said it. She closed her eyes and tried to steady herself. "If it's that
Alicia had received a message from Jessica where she assured her that Dawson was alright. She did not need to go there anymore. Jason suggested a date since he was flying back the very next day. The only reason he came was because of Xavier's birthday and Alicia. Alicia agreed because it was an opportunity for her to spend with Jason. Ever since they became a couple they had never been on an official date and although Alicia had said out loud that she did not mind it did bug her a bit. She had barely been in a relationship and the longest her relationship lasted was a month. She knew she was serious about Jason and that she wanted to be with him but the fact that she had to be in a long distance relationship for her first serious relationship did bother her. She thought of so many possibilities. If Jason were to ask her to marry him, was she to leave everything she had worked on and follow him just to be his wife? She lived with him and that was one thing she could not deny but t
"What do you think of the restaurant I picked?" Jason asked. He was frequent at Chiachester City so he knew all the cool places but he wanted to really impress Alicia. "You really know these things, could it be because you were once a Playboy?" she asked taking the spoon to her mouth "Why would you say something like that and hurt my feelings?" Jason asked with a smirk. "Well, you don't stay in Chiachester and you are still the biggest playboy here. Or you were. I'm guessing you no longer do things like that""Of course I don't. I now devote my entire life to you" he said and she felt herself blush. She cleared her throat and looked around. "Your entire life?" "Yes my entire life" Alicia laughed and bowed her head. How could one not blush? She now saw why girls always fell for him. It was like he had a natural knack for saying the right things. She found out that all their virtual dates always left her with smiles and dreams of being with him. The fear she had earlier resurfac
"What?" Jason asked startled at her sudden confession. He was thrown back. What did she mean by what she just said? She took a deep breath. She was prepared for his worst reaction but she was not sure she could handle it. If it were her she would be very furious too. "You won't move?" "Would you move if you were me? I would have to leave all my grandparents and parents have built over the years. All I have done to ensure it remains standing"Jason's face shows that he is still trying his best to comprehend her words. He was confused. Why did she come to the conclusions and most importantly why did she come to that conclusion? "Can you do it if you were me? Leave all the produce of this hard work and move across the world?" she asked raising her eyebrow. Her hand went to his over the table. She covered his with her hand and squeezed it gently. "I love you and I really mean it but..." she said as she trailed off. "If you love me I don't see why this should be an issue," he told he
