The week following was all jubilation and joy in the house of the Delgado. The press and bloggers referred to the baby as the silver spoon of the century. While the entire city rejoiced Xavier and Jessica were finding it difficult to keep up with being new parents. Leslie and Brian shared their experiences with them before they had the baby but they thought it was over-told tales as usual. Now that they were experiencing the nonstop tears of their son at night they knew that the stories circulating life about childbirth were true. "Can you please stop crying?" Xavier asked as he took Joshua into his hands. The boy had woken up by two a.m. and had had a full city out session for thirty minutes straight. Jessica had first taken the pain of standing up to get him but now she had come to give him to Xavier because she could not get him to stop. Xavier rocked him for ten minutes before the cries began to subside and stop. "Finally" Xavier murmured as he sat down. "Oh my god, so I am a
TWO YEAR LATER. It was Joshua's second year birthday and Xavier wanted a lavishly extravagant party for him. Jessica was of the opinion that they make it something small with family and friends but Xavier wanted to brag about his son to his partners. Jessica did not see the need to have a lavish birthday for a two-year-old child. They had a lavish party at his first party and it seemed like Xavier was willing to make it a yearly thing. They had a long discussion which almost led to an argument between them. In the end, Jessica succumbed to him to allow peace to reign. It was not going to affect her in any way so she could allow for the party. Xavier had gone through long lengths and given the party planning process to a specialist. The party was too lavish to be called a one year old birthday. It was almost as lavish as the parties that Alicia and Jason threw once in a year now. They said they would make it a thing because they became an item after a party and they might help othe
The party ended when the children could not keep their eyes open for the rest. Brain and Leslie took their children and called it a night while Alicia and Jason promised to continue their party at a bar. The rest of the partners and high-class people who were invited took their children home after making meaningful connections at the party. "You can put Joshua to bed while I go have a rest," Jessica said as she turned back to her husband carrying the boy. "I always have to put him to bed why don't you do so today?" "For many reasons," she told him. "Like?" "For starters, he likes it when you put him to bed and also you are the one who organized this party to tire him out, and then he looks too much like you" she stated. "That's not true" he protested. "It is and the only reason you refuse to admit is because you know it is true""Okay okay, but I am not accepting because I agree. I only want you to go freshen up and wait for me" he said with a wink. "Xavier," Jessica said in a

The dim light in the club made Aletta uncomfortable. She wanted to run out of the place as soon as possible. She looked to the right of her where Joshua sat in the VIP boot. He too looked uncomfortable. She thought to herself once again. 'Why was she here? Why did the person who brought her here seem as uncomfortable as her?' She saw one of the girls bend over and whisper something into Joshua's ears. She did not like the closeness between them. She looked around her and snatched the bottle off the table, opened it up, and took a huge chug of it. She winced as if she were bitten by an insect as the bitter hot drink burnt through her throat. She was here for an official assignment so she should not be drinking but the thought of what those girls were doing to Joshua sent a strange feeling down her spine. What if he needed help? What was she going to do? Hell, she always thought that she had overcome her long-standing crush on him. Who did not have a crush on Joshua Delgado? He was a
Joshua steadied Aletta. She laid her head on his chest and mumbled a few words he could not make out before she proceeded to chew on something in her mouth. He heard her make a sound as if she was about to throw up. "Ms. Brunswick," he said slowly as if he was warning her not to go through with her plans. There was no way he would be getting his designer soiled by her dinner. The sound she made earlier was now lost in the sound of the club. He searched his pocket with one hand while the other hand was holding her firmly to his chest. It would be a disaster if she fell. He pulled out his phone and a sort of triumphant smile crossed his lips. He was good at everything after all. He put a call through to his bodyguard and driver. There was no way he would be the one to carry out Aletta all by himself. What would the world say if they saw him doing that? There would be a commotion which would take the legal and PR team a little more effort than needed. When he sensed it might take a lit
Joshua was shocked at the confession. He was always the center of attraction but coming from someone who he thought spared him no glance, it was a bit overwhelming. He shuffled on his feet in embarrassment not knowing how to handle the situation. "What?" he found the words leaving his mouth in confusion. Jack gasped in fear. He did not know if he heard right or if his imagination was playing tricks on him. It was quite rare for him to see Aletta act like this and now she was confessing love for Joshua? "Ms. Aletta, I will help you out," Jack said pulling her backward and holding on to her firmly. "I will take her down and get a cab. You can take your time before coming out sir" Jack said. He knew that she would be embarrassed if she remembered by morning. He needed to save her before she made any further mistakes. "Don't do that" Joshua's voice that started high at the start of the sentence ended low as if he was losing battery power. "What?" Jack said turning to face him with sh
