TCG: Chapter 13

"What do yo—what's going on here?" I asked Nyleve as I shook my head. Looking at Kye, the man who had no name until now, I asked, "You're Kye?"

"I used to be Kye," he grinned as he pushed his hands into his pockets, smirking. "He's dead," he looked at Nyleve.

"Don't talk about yourself in the third person," Nyleve snapped, and he chuckled.

"Evander, that's my name. Now that we all know each other's names, let's be on our way, yes?"

"You're supposed to be dead," I trailed off as I stared at him.

"And I'm not. Let's go," he gripped my arm, pulling me out of the room.

"You're just like your father," Nyleve whispered as she looked away, which made Evander halt in his steps and clench his jaw while his fingers dug into my skin.

"Father?" He whispered before chuckling and shaking his head. "Yeah," he dragged out as he continued pulling me out of the house.

"I can walk by myself," I snapped as I pulled my arm from his hold and clutched my duffle bag against my chest.

"Sure, whatever," he wave
