17. Sarah: Trapped

Sarah’s Point of view:

The encounter made me tense. I had so many questions.

What did Alex want?

Why was he stalking me?

Was he trying to intimidate me or was there something more sinister at play?

As we drove away from the apartment, these questions swirled in my mind, making it hard to focus on the present moment. Ethan's concerned gaze and gentle touch only added to the turmoil inside me.

Ethan noticed my inner turmoil and reached out to put a comforting hand on my knee. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice soft with concern.

I hesitated, unsure of how to respond. I didn't want to burden him with my problems, so I just shook my head and said, "Nothing. Let's just go."

Ethan nodded, but I could tell he didn't believe me. He tried to start up conversations, asking me about my favorite books and movies, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. I tried to answer with a chipper tone, but it wasn't really the same.
