GAVRAEL ~ I hated fate right now. Whatever was in charge of all this destiny shit could kiss my ass. I finally make a positive change in my life only to discover that it’s futile and I will be influenced to start war in less than a month’s time. Theia called it the cycle that would determine if they all lived or died. Everything was fucking bullshit. I began to wonder what was the point of even changing from being a tyrant leader like I used to be a while ago if I would end up reverting back to being bad. “The cycle for the end of Selene's spell has begun. The next full moon will be a blood moon, and the demon king will rise. The spell holding back his memory of who he was will be broken and all his need for vengeance and hatred will return. He will have the ability to open the gate between realms, make the rip wider and bring over his armies from the nether realm. If your mate cannot fight his hold, then history will repeat itself, there will be a war like we’ve never seen before.
ALPHA GAVRAEL HARD TO DEAL WITH
ADAIRA~“So what’s the plan, Alpha?” One of the warriors asked.Before Gavrael could reply and tell them of the barrier I could put up with my powers, I interrupted.“We’ll have to fight back. We’ll be split into teams to cover every border entrance to the pack. Last night, the creatures attacked the north west and east borders. We have no idea if they’ll stick to these two places again tonight or if they will attack the other borders. The Alpha will be at the forefront of wherever the battle will be since his fire can kill them so whichever team spots any of the creatures first will have to alert him and he will teleport over and deal with them. From what we observed last night, they came in batches and that will make splitting his time easier.”I could feel Gavrael’s displeasure as I explained the plan I had just come up with in a split second. He may not like it but it had to be done, we had to make other plans instead of relying on me making a barrier which we aren’t sure of and

ADAIRA~Less than a minute later, I felt his arms around me.“I know you’re stressed about everything. It’s okay to be afraid, but it’s not okay to let it rule you and determine your actions. You can do this, I know you can.”“And what if I fail?” I asked with a shaky voice.“Stop thinking like this. You will succeed, there’s no other option, even if your plan seems like a good one. What happens if the creatures attack from everywhere at once? How will your plan to keep them off work?” He asked.“I… I don’t know. I was just thinking of something, anything to act as an alternative. I think you’re putting too much trust in me.”“How about this, we can use your plan. It may work as long as the creatures don’t appear all at once. If it doesn’t then you’ll have to put up the barrier, agreed?”“Yeah, okay. That’s fine.”I was still terrified of the thought of having to use powers I currently didn’t have access to but there was no other option. I just had to hope that the creatures stick to

GAVRAEL~Waiting was the most excruciating part of the mission for everyone. I could feel the anxiety and apprehension from the shifters on our team at the eastern border. Adaira was trying to be strong as a leader but I could feel her tension through our mate bond. No one knew what to expect, how the creatures would attack or where they would choose to attack. My plan to Adaira earlier of going with what she had told the others till there was a need for her to put up the barrier had just been me trying to make her feel better. Deep down, I knew it wouldn’t work, I knew that the only hope of keeping the pack safe was with her powers, but she needed more time to get used to the idea. She had tried to get me to join another team, but I'd be damned if I let her be separated from me again during a battle, even for a few minutes.As the night progressed, we remained alert despite the relative silence. I was beginning to wonder whether the creatures would even attack again, when I received

ADAIRA~I ended up sleeping for almost a whole day, by the time I woke up, it was past almost midnight. Gavrael was in bed with me, and as I stirred, he woke up too.“You scared me for a second there, mate.” He spoke as he nuzzled my neck.“You fell asleep so suddenly that if it wasn’t for the steady beat of your heart, I would have thought you died.”“I’m a bit harder to kill than that.” I chuckled.My stomach chose that moment to rumble and it was Gavrael’s turn to chuckle.“It seems I need to feed you.”Then it was his stomach that rumbled next and I laughed. We got out of bed and moved through the silent house to the kitchen. We were the only ones awake by this time and I had to admit that I like it being just the two of us, no noise, no pack mates needing attention, no trouble to solve. Since shifters had a big appetite, there was always food available in the kitchen. We may be alone now, but someone else might have already woken up to eat and left or would wake up later to have

ADAIRA~I was getting weird looks from everyone that saw me today. After eating by midnight and talking for a while, Gavrael and I had gone back to bed to sleep and woke up after dawn but later than usual, we were entitled to sleeping in after everything that happened after all. But as we left the room to join the others for breakfast, everyone was either looking at me with awe or fear or both. I figured out why when Gaby walked closer to us to speak to me.”Ady, did you really… you know, do that stuff?” She asked.She seemed unsure of how to ask her question and if she should even ask it. I also didn’t understand what exactly she was talking about, so I asked.“What stuff?”“The warriors that fought with you, they showed all of us what you did. We weren’t there but we could see it from their minds. It still seems a bit hard to believe. You were flying or floating, I don’t know, and you were glowing, and there was so much light. ADAIRA~I moved closer and held Theia’s mother by the hand. I forced myself to relax and put every doubt out of my mind. If I could protect the whole pack with the barrier, this was nothing compared to that. I didn’t really know what to envision, last night, it had been easier to see a barrier forming in my mind just like Gavrael directed. But now, do I imagine her using powers? Or imagine me giving her powers?It turned out that I didn’t need to do all that. While holding her hands, I felt some sort of vacuum, a hole in her essence. A missing piece. I didn’t need anyone to tell me that that must be the part of her where her powers used to reside, all I needed to do was to fill it up. I reached out to her with my own essence and I vaguely heard her gasp as she was zapped with it. Her hands were released from mine as she crumpled to the floor and her husband rushed to make sure she was okay.I opened my eyes to see that she was faintly glowing for a few seconds before the glow died do

ADAIRA ~ Just as expected, the rest of the pack took the news of Sage wolves with varying degrees of disgust, shock and wariness. When we announced the merger into one mega pack, they were even more shocked and awed. There were obviously protests especially when we let them know that we planned to get messages across to Sage wolves in hiding and have them come here to join the pack. But we also explained the great danger that would be coming against us and that we would only be able to defeat them if we work together. Next we let anyone with ideas step forward and speak. There was so much to be done; clearing the surrounding forest for instance, so those that would come to join us would have room to build their own houses, plans to build another general pack house where meals can be taken by a larger group because eating together was a shifter custom meant to ensure the pack bonds remain strong, same as hunting in a group and running as a pack on some full moons.
