“I’ve realised the error of my ways to an extent. Can’t you see I’m trying?” He said to me like he expected me to leap for joy with a smile on my face because of his words.

After all he had done to me, was this supposed to make me feel better? Was I supposed to just forgive him just like that?

“Funny how it took me almost dying for you to see the error of your ways as you call it. And apparently, even that isn’t enough because you still haven’t completely realised your errors.” I said to him.

I won’t be fooled by his sudden show of empathy. He was just trying to manipulate me, I’m sure of it. It may be my wounded pride and broken trust in him speaking right now, but even if it was, I won’t give in to him this time. Despite his words on seeing his errors, I’m sure he still held on to his pride, his belief that there was nothing wrong with his actions, nothing wrong between us even if our mate bond was obviously just a sham.
