EDEN MONROE.
“It's so dark in here, why are we here?” I asked myself before looking at Dorian who stood protectively beside me. It was almost pitch black in what seemed to be a cave to me.
I heard him chuckle slowly before keeping quiet, everywhere was eerily silent.
There were voices at the far end of the cave, a faint orange glow accompanying it. It sounded like a ritual, a worship?
"Meeting, maybe." I said to myself, and I looked to my side hoping to see Dorian beside me but he was no longer there.
I searched everywhere in the darkness for him but it was to no avail. Walking as silently as possible, I made my way towards the light, listening closely to the voices for any information I could get when all of a sudden, they stopped, the voices were no longer heard.
A low hum began, echoing off the walls and roof of the cave, followed by footsteps, a pair at first, then two, then more and more until a host of footsteps was heading in her direction.
“Run!” I was already moving before the thought was fully formed, running in the opposite direction.
I kept running, and the footsteps kept getting closer and closer and closer. After several minutes, I heard water trickling and saw a faint glow ahead, “moonlight?!” I gasped, panting and stumbling across the cave ground to reach the end when I stopped cold in my tracks. The sounds which I was hearing.
I could never mistake that sound for anything else, they were howls. I could see eyes now, they seemed like a pack, stalking the cave entrance. One turned its head in my direction and snarled, a nasty, hungry sound, before charging at me with full speed. The others followed it, all howling with a visible hunger in their eyes. Fear took over me.
I could only stare in horror as I stumbled back and fell, the first wolf reaching me at the same time, its mouth was wide open, drools poured down onto my face, going for my neck and then I felt pain. I shouted for help. . .
"Why the fuck are you shouting?" I opened my eyes, seeing my sisters standing beside my bed with a scornful look on their faces.
Ignoring them, I touched my neck hoping there weren't any marks. I flunked my duvet off my body and ran towards the mirror in my bathroom to confirm.
There was none and a breath of relief fell through my lips. My brows arched up in confusion, I stared at myself through the mirror—I had never dreamt like that before.
I splashed water in my face as I tried to rid myself of the bad dream I had. Wolves; I have never seen or heard people talk about them but I had seen books about them and watched movies detailing them. However, I didn't watch a movie before sleeping, so why did I dream of that? Shaking my head, I got rid of any scary thoughts I had.
It was just a dream, I said to myself but I could still remember those words.
Leaving the bathroom, I saw my sisters still standing in my room, their arms crossed over their full chest. Bree and my other sister, Anatasia—they bore a lot of resemblance, they had the same strawberry blonde hair, plump lips, double eyelids and nose. The only difference was the colors of their eyes, while Bree's was green, Ana's was ocean blue.
"What are you staring at?" Ana asked as she looked down at me. I forgot to add that they were both tall with slender bodies while I was average in height with a thick but slender body. I liked my shape and I was proud of it but, sometimes my sister's made me feel jealous.
I went to sit down on my bed but before I could, Bree blocked the road to my path, "What are you doing?" I asked.
"Check your time, I am not going to wait for you this time around." Bree said before walking out the door.
It was a new week and truly, I delayed them whenever we went to college. I shouted okay so she could hear me and I faced Ana who stayed rooted in my room. She was the quiet sister who didn't talk too much but at the same time we argued a lot.
I love my sister's to death but they are a pain in the ass. Ana left my room but not before telling me the parents wanted to see me. I quickly got ready for college, I majored in history in Caliber University and I loved what I studied, getting the opportunity to learn new things.
Wearing a black faded jean which hugged my Curves, paired with a white crop top and a black jacket— my black sneakers and my baseball cap on my head in a backward position. I shut the door behind me, going downstairs to go see Charles and Grace, my parents.
I met Grace in the kitchen while she was preparing breakfast. Her beauty was unmatched, with skin as fair and smooth porcelain. Her tooths showed as she smiled, and they were perfectly arranged and white as a dove. She was dressed in a simple yellow gown. Her beautiful auburn hair was packed into a curly up-do.
She put three pieces of pancakes, bacon and egg on a plate for me. I thanked her before getting a cup of coffee for myself and sat down on the dining table as I ate my food in silence. I saw my sister's troop down to the kitchen and come out with their food in their hands.
They sat opposite me as they ate their food in silence. I saw Charles coming towards the kitchen direction. He was tall, had brown eyes and his sandy blonde hair which was parked in a bun.
I found it weird that none of my sister's looked like our parents but they told me not to bother about it and I didn't.
"It's a quiet day in Monroe's house which is not normal." He said, standing by the dining table.
We greeted him before continuing on with our breakfast. Charles watched us like a hawk until we finished eating.
"Eden, where did you and Bree go to yesterday?" He asked.
I was about to respond but Bree interjected with another lie, saying we went to a friend's birthday party. I wondered why she was lying.
"I didn't ask you Bree, speak Eden." Charles said.
I repeated the words Bree had said and Charles didn't look convinced. He just nodded his head in reply before Bree told them it was time to go to school.
Bree was our designated driver and so we left after Charles spoke sense into us, telling us what to do and what not. I knew some of us were not listening, people like Bree.
We got into her car and then drove off to school with her loudspeakers blaring loud music.
Finally we arrived at the school gates and I got down first while my sister's drove off. I looked around the campus but something felt off, it was like someone was staring at me but I couldn't seem to figure who it was.
"Girl, what are you doing standing there like a control officer?" I saw my friend walk towards me and I smiled warmly at her. The reason why I was feeling uncomfortable, long forgotten.
Carla holds a special place in my heart, She was short, a bit shorter than I was with curly brown hair. And her eyes were black. As soon as she got closer to me, she hugged me so tight.
"For someone so small, your hugs are really tight." She punched me on my arm when I said that and we both laughed about it.
We walked together and then we met our other buddy, Ben was a Greek god, girls flocked around him but sadly he wasn't interested in girls, he was gay and proud to be one.
"Hey girl, what's good with you—you look dazzling today." Ben said loudly, making people turn their heads to look at us.
I and Carla laughed at his girly attitude and he hugged us both when we got to him. We were gossiping about our weekends, Ben was telling us about a guy he met and how the guy rocked his world.
Ben rambled on about his weekend, "Girls— his dick was long and hard… I struggled to take it in my…"
"Hey, aren't you late for class?" Someone said to us as he walked past us. I checked the time and saw that indeed we were late for class. We three had different classes and then decided to meet each other later at the cafeteria where we normally sat and then we went our separate ways.
After some strenuous, excruciating hours of me sitting down and taking notes, I was finally done with class and made my way to the cafeteria to meet my pals.
I looked for them, a set of hands waved towards me and I went to meet them. Before I could reach the table where my friends sat, I shrieked as I got picked up by someone and when I realized who it was, a frown settled on my face.
"Put me down, you dickhead." I said to Cole.
He is a fucking bully who has been tormenting me by forcing me to date him which was not going to be possible. I don't do dickheads and he knows that. When he finally did, I wanted to say something to his face but decided against it and walked away from him but he whistled behind me,
"Damn lads, look at that ass."
I grimace in disgust before getting to the spot where my friends sat down. I told them never to help me when I am being man-handled by Cole, why, he was going to bully them and I didn't want that.
"So Eden, how was your weekend?" Ben asked me, as he wiggled his eyebrows at me.
I punched his arms and then I remembered Dorian, his face popped up into my head but I decided not to say anything but, my lovely friends forced it out of me, ironically.
"Hold on, so he left you all hot, bothered and confused on the dance floor?" Ben asked, he was red in the face.
I nodded my head in affirmation and he slammed the table in annoyance, bringing his body towards mine, hugging me.
"He didn't know what he was missing. . . He's a dumbass." Ben said, trying to pacify me. It worked because I didn't think too much about him.
Carla said her weekend was lame and she didn't do too much. Her mother was always out of the house and her father was absent from her life. She was all alone— I tried my best to be always there for her.
"Hey, what are you doing tomorrow night—after school?" Carla asked.
"I don't have anything to do, why?"
She smiled at me, "There's a party tomorrow night at a club and I want you both to be there." Carla stated, giving us both the puppy eyes.
"Um, I have to meet someone tomorrow night." Ben rambled on, struggling not to agree.
I already agreed without much thinking because I needed a night out. I looked at Ben and asked him about the mystery guy he was seeing but he didn't say anything.
"No need, i will just cancel my plans of me being fucked thoroughly tomorrow." Ben sighed, agreeing to Carla's demand.
I shaked my head at both of them, and then decided to go get something to eat. Attending a party tomorrow won't be a bad idea, I could forget a certain someone and meet someone new.
DORIAN GRIMALDI. The afternoon was sunny and windy as I dipped my hands into the pocket of my Jean. I stood at the front of my window, listening to the dulcet harmony which played into my ears through the loudspeakers in my room as I thought about recent events. I, Dorian Grimaldi—the future Alpha King was a stalker. To be honest, it was something I had never done in my life, since I was used to girls flocking around me like birds; However, since I met Eden, I had done unquestionable things and it felt so surreal. Two knocks reverberated on the door of my room, cutting in on my thoughts and privacy. There was a guard at the door who helped filter the numbers of people who could enter my room, so a knock on my door meant it was the guard who needed my attention. I turned around, raised my voice, telling him to enter. He did as I ordered, bowing out of respect to me. Then he proceeded to tell me my mother needed my audience."Did she tell you the reason why?" I asked him. He shook
EDEN MONROE. While strolling down the hallways with my friends, we discussed an upcoming club event that Carla had invited us to, and I was looking forward to a fun night out. The only challenge was sneaking out without my Charles knowing. They wouldn't approve of me going to a club. I realized I would need my sister's assistance to make it happen.Ben asked us as we walked slowly, "How would we meet tonight?"I was at a loss for ideas, so I remained silent and pondered upon his question. Carla chimed in, "Why don't we meet at your place, Eden?"I shook my head in response, "No way, my parents would never allow it."Ben and Carla both exhaled in frustration. But suddenly, a lightbulb went off in my head, and I let out a squeal of excitement. It wasn't going to be easy, but I was determined to have some fun."Wait, I have an idea!" I exclaimed. "Ben, you just got a jeep, right? So, how about we rendezvous two streets away from my house? You and Carla could wait for me there."My frien
Dorian Grimaldi My typical routine of going out late at night, which could be considered a form of stalking, was in full swing. Gustav, who was in the back seat of the car, was exhausted by my behavior and irritated by something he didn't want to share with me, "Don't you ever get tired of waiting here, Dorian?" he asked.I glanced back at him briefly, then shifted my gaze back to the house. Despite the fact that I rarely actually saw her when I came here, just observing her window brought a sense of peace to my thoughts and emotions. As soon as I noticed the window to her door opening, I sat up on the cushion of the car seat in anticipation. I caught a glimpse of her angelic figure standing by the window, appearing ready to leap out, but hesitating for a moment before taking the plunge. She landed gracefully on the grass below, and I felt a sense of satisfaction at her not being injured and wonderness as I watched her hurry off into the obscurity of the night.I started the eng
Eden Monroe. As I regained consciousness, I heard what sounded like howls. “Howls!? Those were definitely howls” I thought to myself, as I stirred on the ground. Struggling to open my eyes, I found myself surrounded by darkness, but eventually I could make out the gray hues of dusk filtering through the trees above me. Although the forest was unfamiliar to me, it seemed strangely familiar at the same time, unsettling me. Lost in thought, I didn't notice anything until I heard a twig snap. “Who is there?”I asked, swiveling my head to come face to face with pointed, bloody canines. “I knew you were here, I smelled you from faraway, Moja Ijubavi” the creature, whatever it was, spoke to me, it’s voice like an Angel’s slur. “What are you?!”I screamed, my fear evident in my eyes, my voice, as I started to slowly back away from the thing. “Me?” it asked, its voice still a delightful slur, “that’s not important” it said before dashing at me and swinging an arm towards my head with inh
EDEN MONROEI breathed a sigh of relief and felt my tension dissipate. I gave Dorian a playful glare and playfully punched him on the shoulder. He tilted his head and the expression on his face scared me which made me move back from him. "Did you just hit me?" He asked, his voice was scary and I felt terrified. Initially, I thought that Dorian and I were just teasing each other, given his prank. However, it seemed that I was the one overreacting. Again. As I tried to make my way out, Dorian grabbed me from behind, causing my face to hit his chest. I breathed in his musky scent and felt momentarily at ease, but our moment was interrupted by a voice."Looks like you came earlier than expected," I looked back to see who interrupted us and when I saw who it was, quickly I dispersed my body off of Dorian's. Lady Maurie approached us with a smile on her face."I don't think I've ever seen your mother frown," I whispered to Dorian, being careful not to let Lady Maurie overhear.Dorian re
Dorian GrimaldiAfter parking my car in the garage, I reminisced about the passionate kiss I had shared with Eden. I couldn't forget the sensation of her soft, alluring lips, and the way she had run her slender fingers through my hair, almost making me lose control in the car. Frustrated, I let out a groan and hit the steering wheel, regretting the missed opportunity caused by her sister's interruption. If it weren't for that, we might have ended up in the back seat of my car.I couldn't stop replaying the moment in my head, wondering what could have happened if we weren't interrupted. Eden was unlike anyone I had ever met, and the chemistry between us was undeniable. Every time I saw her, my heart skipped a beat, and my mind raced with the desire to feel her lips on mine again. As I sat in the car, lost in my thoughts, I couldn't help but feel a sense of longing and frustration. I wanted to be with her again, to feel her touch and taste, but I didn't know when that would happen. All
Eden Monroe. My sister's and I were on our way to school, and as usual, Bree was our driver. I was grateful for their help with Charles and Grace, and relieved that they didn't suspect anything."Uhm, how did you do it? How was it possible they were not able to find out?" I asked, wanting to know how they did it.Bree, didn't respond to my question. She was focused on the road ahead, navigating the twists and turns with ease. I wondered how she managed to keep Charles and Grace occupied without giving away my absence.Anastasia, who was sitting next to her in the front seat, also remained silent. She was busy scrolling through her phone, not bothering to look up or acknowledge my question. Her nonchalant behavior irritated me. I wanted answers, but it seemed like nobody was willing to provide them.I was really frustrated, "Are you guys mad at me or something? Talk to me, if I did something wrong… tell me, I hate the silence." I said again, but still no response. After a
Eden Monroe. The sun had set and the sky was painted with hues of orange and pink. I walked along the beach, feeling the cool sand between my toes and the gentle breeze against my face. The sound of waves crashing against the shore was the only thing that broke the serene silence. As I walked, I noticed a figure in the distance. It was a woman, sitting alone on a bench, staring out at the sea. I couldn't see her face clearly, but I could tell she was lost in thought.Curiosity got the best of me and I made my way towards her. As I got closer, I could see that she had tears streaming down her face. I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I should just leave her be, but my empathetic nature wouldn't allow it."Excuse me, are you okay?" I asked softlyThe woman turned her head and smiled at me, not like I saw her crying some few seconds ago. She patted the space beside her on the bench and I sat down because I felt at ease. I looked at her once more and I saw that she looked familiar but
Dorian Grimaldi.A restless week had crawled by, weighed down by the anguish and fear that clutched my heart. The memory of Eden's abduction by the hunters haunted my every waking moment, fueling my relentless determination to bring her back unharmed. The pain of her absence gnawed at me, making each passing second feel like an eternity. But now, against all odds, we had reached an agreement—a fragile truce born from Eden's courageous negotiations. As the Alpha King, the weight of responsibility pressed heavily upon my shoulders. The safety of our pack rested on the delicate threads of this newfound alliance. The hunters, once our sworn enemies, were now our reluctant allies, bound by a shared understanding of the dangers that lurked in the shadows.Within the pack, whispers echoed through the corridors of our territory, carrying the news of the agreement that Eden had orchestrated. Some greeted the news with hope, their weary hearts yearning for peace and a chance to rebuild what had
Eden Monroe. I glanced around, taking in the furious expressions etched on the faces of the people gathered in the forest, with Dorian standing out as the embodiment of imminent chaos. His intense gaze scanned my body, searching for any signs of injury or harm inflicted upon me."Don't worry, Dorian. I'm alright. They didn't lay a finger on me," I reassured him, my voice steady despite the tumultuous atmosphere."How can I be sure they won't hurt you?" Dorian erupted with anger, his voice booming through the forest, carrying his concerns on the wind.My heart skipped a beat as I felt the waves of his emotions crashing against me. I reached out, my hand trembling slightly, wanting to calm the tempest brewing within him. "Dorian, I understand your fear, but you have to trust me. They won't harm me."His eyes blazed with a fiery mix of concern and rage, his voice tinged with desperation. "Look at them, Eden! They're like a pack of fools, hungry for blood!""Hey! Dorian Grimaldi. After what seemed like forever, I finally had the crown on my head and became the new Alpha King. The people bowed down to show respect, and they all shouted, "Long live the king" together.Yet, a disquieting restlessness stirred within the depths of my being, an unsettling void that gnawed at my insides. My wolf, an instinctual creature of the wild, sensed an absence, a void in our shared bond, and it troubled me deeply.Searching the sea of faces, my eyes yearned for the presence of the one person who was meant to stand beside me on this momentous occasion. But she was nowhere to be found, like a fleeting dream that evaporates with the first rays of dawn. Where could she be? What could have caused her to be absent during this pivotal juncture?I looked around, hoping to see my Eden standing beside me on the stage, but she was nowhere to be found. My wolf felt restless, and I couldn't understand what was happening.I saw Gustavo standing with his mate, Ben, but my m
Eden Monroe.I hurriedly made my way towards Ben, who stood at the front, my mind still plagued by unsettling thoughts. "Hey, Ben," I called out, desperately seeking his attention."Yeah, Queen. What's up?" he responded, addressing me by the new title that would soon be bestowed upon me."Funny. I need to talk to you," I replied, urgency lacing every word, my tone betraying my inner turmoil."Are you okay? Cold feet? You don't want to be queen?" Ben inquired, his eyes filled with concern."No, it's not that... Ugh, just please, be serious for once. This is really important," I pleaded, my voice tinged with frustration.Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Ben guided me to a secluded corridor in the bustling hall. "Alright, now tell me, what's the problem?" he asked, his voice lowering as if to match the intensity of the situation.Taking a deep breath, I relayed to him everything I had overheard from the conversation of those I accidentally eavesdropped on."Wait, did you just sa
Dorian Grimaldi. The night had descended, casting an eerie ambiance over the grand mansion. The air was thick with anticipation, but the atmosphere felt different from the previous ball. Instead of joyous faces, I was met with stern expressions as guests made their way through the ornate entrance.Taking my place at the entrance, I stood tall, flanked by Ben, my trusted companion. Adorned in a gown fit for a queen, my dress for the coronation exuded elegance and regality. The fabric, a shimmering midnight blue, flowed gracefully around me, cascading in gentle waves. Its ethereal quality captured the moonlight, creating an enchanting display as I moved. The gown hugged my frame, accentuating my curves while allowing for ease of movement.Intricate silver embroidery adorned the bodice, tracing delicate patterns. Each stitch was meticulously crafted, adding a touch of celestial beauty to the ensemble. The neckline, adorned with a scattering of opalescent beads, caught the light, creating
Dorian Grimaldi. The day of my placement as Alpha king had finally arrived, and the atmosphere in the pack house crackled with anticipation. The halls were teeming with werewolves, their energy palpable as they hurriedly prepared for the momentous coronation. I could sense the eyes of my pack members upon me, their expectations weighing heavily on my shoulders.Lost in my thoughts, I stood in the midst of the bustling crowd when Gustavo, my steadfast beta, approached me with a grave expression. He handed me a letter, and as I perused its contents, my initial disbelief gave way to a steely resolve. The Mendalv clan, our once dependable allies, had chosen to sever their ties with the werewolf community, leaving us vulnerable and without a safety net.I read through the details of the letter, my face a mask of indifference, though inside, a storm brewed. Gustavo's voice held a tinge of urgency as he stressed the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the absence of a backup plan should th
EDEN MONROEAs my eyes slowly fluttered open, the warm rays of the sun caressed my face, nudging me from the realm of dreams into the waking world. Instinctively, I turned to shield myself from the intrusive light, only to find myself mere inches away from Dorian, whose eyes gleamed with a mischievous spark. The sight of him, wide awake and undeniably handsome, sent a jolt of surprise coursing through my veins."Oh, you're awake now?" I muttered, my voice laced with a mix of grogginess and playful annoyance.Dorian's lips curled into a knowing smile, his voice filled with teasing amusement. "I never slept, you see. Someone kept me up all night," he replied, his tone dripping with playful insinuation.A blush erupted across my cheeks, the heat spreading like wildfire down my neck and into the depths of my being. Caught off guard by his remark, I stammered, "I-I... well, that's not... I mean… I did not."Dorian's laughter rumbled in his chest, a deep, melodious sound that washed over me
Dorian Grimaldi. The dense forest beckoned me with its verdant embrace, my paws propelling me forward with relentless determination. The ethereal breeze whispered through the towering trees, tenderly caressing my sleek fur as I dashed through the underbrush. A symphony of sounds enveloped me—the rustling leaves, the melodic chirping of birds, and the distant echo of my wolf's triumphant howl. Each step I took sent a thrilling pulse through my veins, heightening the adrenaline coursing through my lupine form.As I neared my hidden sanctuary, a sense of anticipation mingled with the primal instincts that guided my every move. The forest seemed to hold its breath, as if aware of the impending encounter that awaited me. And then, like a whisper in the wind, I heard voices—two distinct voices—tantalizingly close. With the grace of a predator stalking its prey, I slowed my pace, a silent predator navigating the shadowed realm of the forest. Dorian Grimaldi. As I strolled down the dimly lit corridor, the weight of the earlier confrontation with my mother still lingered in the air, gnawing at my insides. The atmosphere seemed to mirror my unease, with shadows dancing ominously along the walls, creating an eerie backdrop to my troubled thoughts.Just as despair threatened to consume me entirely, a flicker of movement caught my attention. My eyes darted to the end of the hallway, where Ben and Jasmine were engaged in a frantic dash. Their figures glided effortlessly through the gloom, their silhouettes radiating a sense of urgency that piqued my curiosity.Desperate to intercept them before they disappeared from sight, I called out to them, my voice laced with a mix of concern and longing. "Ben! Jasmine!" I yelled, my words floating through the air like a whispered plea, hoping to halt their hasty retreat. Yet, the echoes of my voice seemed swallowed by the ominous silence that enveloped the corridor.Undeterred, I quickene
