EDEN MONROE.
I was perplexed as I remained unmoving on the dance floor. I couldn't find words to say regarding Dorian's sudden change in actions. I was overwhelmed with everything that had happened. I still couldn't believe he walked out on me, just like that, and without any reason. I felt so belittled for getting a little too comfortable with him, yet still left me, like I was one of his tramps. It hurts.
I left the dance floor and decided to follow my instructive instincts. The bathroom was the perfect place to hide my head and bawl my eyes out. I went to the bathroom but it was occupied with ladies who cocked their heads at me when I entered. I found it really weird, but left nonetheless.
I decided to look for Bree so we could leave, if only she wanted to. Then I saw him coming out from a narrow path with another lady. Even though he and I just met, I felt betrayed because he had left me alone on the dance floor with a scornful look on his face, like I had irritated him when I could have sworn we were frictionally attached to one another on the dance floor. My thought was that something, maybe something, could happen between us; But I guess no. Not with what happened earlier.
Moving steadily, I hid myself behind someone and watched them both from afar. The pretty woman whose name I couldn't be bothered to know was smiling brightly beside him, and around them were people who wore faux of happiness etched on their faces seeing them together. I felt exasperated just looking at them, and it wasn't until he left did I leave my hiding spot.
The lady stood alone for a short while before skipping towards someone. I overheard what people were saying and my mood changed. An engagement? It couldn't be true. I couldn't believe what I was hearing but with the amount of people in here who kept saying the same thing, I believed it to be facts. I guess I was played. It wasn't like we had something going on. . .but I thought we could begin a union.
I decided to walk away from the scene, and once I took a sharp turn, I bumped into someone. Instantly, I apologized to the person as I looked up to see who I walked into.
The woman raised her brows and looked me in the eyes, and I felt intimidated by her set of deep brown eyes. Honestly, it wasn't my first time seeing someone with that type of eye color, but hers, it was unique. She seemed to have loved red because most of the things around her were red. Her lips were red, her earrings, the pendant of her chain, all except for her wavy hair and her cape gown which was black. Almost everything about her was red, and I figured red could as well be her obsession. Red was also my favorite color, most especially crimson red. Most of my dress came in crimson red. Even the gown I was putting on tonight was crimson red.
"So, who are you?" Her red lips stretched into a smile, and I felt at ease seeing that smile on her face. It eased the tension between us. She was aged but it wasn't really noticeable, her voice was calm and soothing to listen to— she made all of my thoughts go into hiding. Even though I'd just met her for a few minutes, I already came to the conclusion that she was nice, and I was comfortable around her.
The woman hoisted her head in a peculiar manner, it was then I remembered that she had asked me a question. "I'm so sorry, my name is Eden; Eden Monroe." I replied to her.
She looked at me, "Really?" She asked.
‘Really?’ I wondered why she asked that. I told her my name again and she nodded her head in reply.
"I'm Lady Maurie Grimaldi." She said.
I gasped, my eyes wide open like saucers as soon as she told me her name. I was talking to the First Lady of the Grimaldi's Family. They were known for their upright behavior, also having a perfect and classy reputation. Their names were always spoken about in the city, people highly respected them.
"Oh my, it's such an honor to meet you."
Indeed it was.
I shrieked in delight as she held my hand which was outstretched towards her. Lady Maurie gave me a smile of warmth before asking, “So Miss Monroe, what are you doing in my family home?”
“Oh, I actually came here with my sister. I have a school report to submit."
Maurie gave me a questioning look, "I don't understand you, a school report?"
"I have to do some research on the town, North Creekville." I replied.
Nodding her head in affirmation, "So you came here. . .because. . ." She asked, again.
"My sister thought it was best for me to come here and learn more about North Creekville exactly from the root."
Bree had told me earlier that if I wanted to learn anything about the town, I would find everything I needed at the Grimaldi's Family Mansion.
"If I do understand well, you need references for your research?" She asked.
I nodded my head in affirmation. Lady Maurie smiled warmly at me, I respected her so much and she hadn't made me feel stupid, like her son did to me. Speaking of her son, I did not want to see him again. I was pretty sure we wouldn't meet ever again, and if by mistake I did see him, I planned on avoiding him.
I was lost in my thoughts until Lady Maurie snapped her fingers across my eyes. I apologized for being carried away.
“What were you thinking about that made you zone out?" She asked, a sketch of concern etched on her face.
I shook my head. "It's nothing, Lady Maurie. I'm sorry, what were you saying?" I asked.
She looked at me for a minute or two, then she cleared her throat, "I was thinking, would you like to come back during the weekend for a cup of coffee with me and also have a look at the library for reference?"
Dumbstruck; that was how I felt at that moment. I couldn't believe what she was saying so I had to ask one more time. Lady Maurie repeated the same words she said, this time more slowly so I was able to process every single word.
I screeched, quite loudly, which made people turn their heads to look at me and my face reddened in embarrassment. I muttered a quiet apology before facing Lady Maurie. "My Goodness, you're basically inviting me over again. Of course, I am not going to miss this offer."
"Anything for a darling young lady."
I hugged her, taking her by surprise. I was also shocked at my boldness, but I really didn't give much thought to it. "Thank you so much." I said, letting go of her.
Lady Maurie smiled at me, "I will be expecting you Miss Monroe." She said before walking away.
After she left, I scurried off to go find Bree. Searched the area where people were and finally I saw her with a man. They were both making out.
I crossed my arms, rolling my eyes in irritation. I watched them for a few seconds until I got bored, so I decided to interrupt their little foreplay. I wonder how they didn't even notice me.
"Bree, let's go. It's dark outside." I said to her.
She ignored me. The guy she was with noticed me and motioned to me with his fingers, telling me to join them. I grimaced in repugnance, just the thought of the man touching me made me nauseated.
"Bree, can you just leave the retard and let's go. . . It's late."
I said angrily, gaining the attention of passersby. The male broke the kiss to pass me a look of arborescence. I matched his look and before he could do anything, Bree held him, and he was distracted by her.
"I'm going to tell Charles that you were the one who delayed us. You know he warned us not to stay out for too long."
I tried persuading her but she wasn't listening. Bree chuckled softly, "Stop talking like a kid." She said, placing a kiss on the guy on his lips before pulling away from him. She walked towards me and as she walked I didn't miss the wanton hunger that filled the eyes of the guy she was kissing. I withheld myself from puking.
"Can we finally go now?" I questioned once Bree was next to me. "Also believe me when I say I'm going to tell Charles that you made us late."
"Really?" Bree laughed.
"I am serious."
"Go on. Just so you know, well you know, Charles ain't gonna believe you. . . No one does
It wasn't true. I could be annoying or sometimes overbearing, but that didn't mean people couldn't trust me.
Sighing deeply, I decided not to argue with Bree. We walked out to the front of the humongous mansion where the valet brought our vehicle to us. Bree drove, and I sat next to her in the passenger seats. As she drove off into the dark foggy streets of North Creekville loud music blared in the car, making my ears bleed.
Finally we got home, Bree switched off the car engine and I got down from the car. I looked at my wristwatch and saw that we were way past our curfew. I grumbled to myself as I walked up the porch into the house. I opened the door and slid my head in, checking to see if there was anyone in sight and my assumption was right, I could see Charles' head. He was sitting down on the sofa, facing the door.
"Come in and shut my door." He said in a low baritone.
I walked in first, then Bree followed, shutting the door behind her. We stood in front of Charles who stared deep into our souls, literally, I was shitting my gown.
"Bree darling, why are you just arriving by this time?" Charles asked his favorite daughter.
I prayed to whoever was beyond the universe, hoping Bree would not put any blame on me. She didn't say anything to Charles for a minute and then finally she responded. "Sorry Charles, the car broke down on the road and it took a while before we could start it again."
Relief flooded my whole body after she spoke, I wasn't going to hear an earful from Charles and I was relieved. Then he had to ask Bree if she was saying the truth and she responded in affirmation.
"Fine, but you girls should remember—you have a curfew and you have to stick with it." He said before walking out of the living room.
Bree faced me after Charles left, "You owe me one." She said.
I was confused, "What do you mean by I owe you? You were the one who delayed us." I complained in a stage whisper.
"Jeez, there's no need for you to scream so loud." She said in a boring tone.
I looked at her, confused, "I wasn't even. . ."
She cut me off. “Anyway, it wasn't like he was a bit interested in you. . . Good night Eden." She said with a mocking tone before walking away.
She was right. Charles didn't care about me but I wasn't bothered about it. . . He took care of me just as an absentee father would. I went upstairs to my room, shutting the door behind me.
I pulled off my gown and fell down flat on the bed in just my scarlet lingerie. I smiled to myself as I thought about the offer Lady Maurie had offered me earlier, it was going to be a good one and just then, my brain remembered something— I was also going to meet Dorian. After all, it was his family home.
I shut my eyes for a while. It shouldn't matter as long as I didn't come across him. All I planned on doing was going to meet his mother, and visit the library for my school report which was almost due.
"I don't care about Dorian." I muttered, standing up.
I made my way into my bathroom to take a shower and clean myself up. And after I was done, I laid down on my bed. I was not really feeling sleepy, yet my brain decided to picture Dorian. The irresistible, sexy, but arrogant mind filled my mind. When he smiled and relaxed his back to the chair, I was comfortable with the way he looked at me, like I was the only one in his life. I felt naked under his gaze. Also, his gaze made me feel like I was his prey or like he was my master.
When he spoke and smiled at me, for obvious reasons my heart skipped ten beats. His laughter sounded melodiously sweet in my ear, and when he joined me on the dance floor after initially turning down my request, I felt powerful; like I was strong enough to make a man like Dorian Grimaldi bend to my will, or so I thought.
I felt impaired just thinking about it again. After a while of turning on my bed, I decided to take my mind off Dorian. I thought of school. I loved school. Albeit, I hadn't heard of someone being happy to go to school, but I was, that was where my life had more meaning. Being surrounded by people who saw me for who I was. People who loved me for who I was.
That night, as I laid on my bed, with the cold wind hitting my room with full force, I pictured Dorian laying beside me, caged in his arms as he protected me. I didn't know when I had slept off.
EDEN MONROE. “It's so dark in here, why are we here?” I asked myself before looking at Dorian who stood protectively beside me. It was almost pitch black in what seemed to be a cave to me.I heard him chuckle slowly before keeping quiet, everywhere was eerily silent. There were voices at the far end of the cave, a faint orange glow accompanying it. It sounded like a ritual, a worship?"Meeting, maybe." I said to myself, and I looked to my side hoping to see Dorian beside me but he was no longer there.I searched everywhere in the darkness for him but it was to no avail. Walking as silently as possible, I made my way towards the light, listening closely to the voices for any information I could get when all of a sudden, they stopped, the voices were no longer heard. A low hum began, echoing off the walls and roof of the cave, followed by footsteps, a pair at first, then two, then more and more until a host of footsteps was heading in her direction.“Run!” I was already moving before
DORIAN GRIMALDI. The afternoon was sunny and windy as I dipped my hands into the pocket of my Jean. I stood at the front of my window, listening to the dulcet harmony which played into my ears through the loudspeakers in my room as I thought about recent events. I, Dorian Grimaldi—the future Alpha King was a stalker. To be honest, it was something I had never done in my life, since I was used to girls flocking around me like birds; However, since I met Eden, I had done unquestionable things and it felt so surreal. Two knocks reverberated on the door of my room, cutting in on my thoughts and privacy. There was a guard at the door who helped filter the numbers of people who could enter my room, so a knock on my door meant it was the guard who needed my attention. I turned around, raised my voice, telling him to enter. He did as I ordered, bowing out of respect to me. Then he proceeded to tell me my mother needed my audience."Did she tell you the reason why?" I asked him. He shook
EDEN MONROE. While strolling down the hallways with my friends, we discussed an upcoming club event that Carla had invited us to, and I was looking forward to a fun night out. The only challenge was sneaking out without my Charles knowing. They wouldn't approve of me going to a club. I realized I would need my sister's assistance to make it happen.Ben asked us as we walked slowly, "How would we meet tonight?"I was at a loss for ideas, so I remained silent and pondered upon his question. Carla chimed in, "Why don't we meet at your place, Eden?"I shook my head in response, "No way, my parents would never allow it."Ben and Carla both exhaled in frustration. But suddenly, a lightbulb went off in my head, and I let out a squeal of excitement. It wasn't going to be easy, but I was determined to have some fun."Wait, I have an idea!" I exclaimed. "Ben, you just got a jeep, right? So, how about we rendezvous two streets away from my house? You and Carla could wait for me there."My frien
Dorian Grimaldi My typical routine of going out late at night, which could be considered a form of stalking, was in full swing. Gustav, who was in the back seat of the car, was exhausted by my behavior and irritated by something he didn't want to share with me, "Don't you ever get tired of waiting here, Dorian?" he asked.I glanced back at him briefly, then shifted my gaze back to the house. Despite the fact that I rarely actually saw her when I came here, just observing her window brought a sense of peace to my thoughts and emotions. As soon as I noticed the window to her door opening, I sat up on the cushion of the car seat in anticipation. I caught a glimpse of her angelic figure standing by the window, appearing ready to leap out, but hesitating for a moment before taking the plunge. She landed gracefully on the grass below, and I felt a sense of satisfaction at her not being injured and wonderness as I watched her hurry off into the obscurity of the night.I started the eng
Eden Monroe. As I regained consciousness, I heard what sounded like howls. “Howls!? Those were definitely howls” I thought to myself, as I stirred on the ground. Struggling to open my eyes, I found myself surrounded by darkness, but eventually I could make out the gray hues of dusk filtering through the trees above me. Although the forest was unfamiliar to me, it seemed strangely familiar at the same time, unsettling me. Lost in thought, I didn't notice anything until I heard a twig snap. “Who is there?”I asked, swiveling my head to come face to face with pointed, bloody canines. “I knew you were here, I smelled you from faraway, Moja Ijubavi” the creature, whatever it was, spoke to me, it’s voice like an Angel’s slur. “What are you?!”I screamed, my fear evident in my eyes, my voice, as I started to slowly back away from the thing. “Me?” it asked, its voice still a delightful slur, “that’s not important” it said before dashing at me and swinging an arm towards my head with inh
EDEN MONROEI breathed a sigh of relief and felt my tension dissipate. I gave Dorian a playful glare and playfully punched him on the shoulder. He tilted his head and the expression on his face scared me which made me move back from him. "Did you just hit me?" He asked, his voice was scary and I felt terrified. Initially, I thought that Dorian and I were just teasing each other, given his prank. However, it seemed that I was the one overreacting. Again. As I tried to make my way out, Dorian grabbed me from behind, causing my face to hit his chest. I breathed in his musky scent and felt momentarily at ease, but our moment was interrupted by a voice."Looks like you came earlier than expected," I looked back to see who interrupted us and when I saw who it was, quickly I dispersed my body off of Dorian's. Lady Maurie approached us with a smile on her face."I don't think I've ever seen your mother frown," I whispered to Dorian, being careful not to let Lady Maurie overhear.Dorian re
Dorian GrimaldiAfter parking my car in the garage, I reminisced about the passionate kiss I had shared with Eden. I couldn't forget the sensation of her soft, alluring lips, and the way she had run her slender fingers through my hair, almost making me lose control in the car. Frustrated, I let out a groan and hit the steering wheel, regretting the missed opportunity caused by her sister's interruption. If it weren't for that, we might have ended up in the back seat of my car.I couldn't stop replaying the moment in my head, wondering what could have happened if we weren't interrupted. Eden was unlike anyone I had ever met, and the chemistry between us was undeniable. Every time I saw her, my heart skipped a beat, and my mind raced with the desire to feel her lips on mine again. As I sat in the car, lost in my thoughts, I couldn't help but feel a sense of longing and frustration. I wanted to be with her again, to feel her touch and taste, but I didn't know when that would happen. All
Eden Monroe. My sister's and I were on our way to school, and as usual, Bree was our driver. I was grateful for their help with Charles and Grace, and relieved that they didn't suspect anything."Uhm, how did you do it? How was it possible they were not able to find out?" I asked, wanting to know how they did it.Bree, didn't respond to my question. She was focused on the road ahead, navigating the twists and turns with ease. I wondered how she managed to keep Charles and Grace occupied without giving away my absence.Anastasia, who was sitting next to her in the front seat, also remained silent. She was busy scrolling through her phone, not bothering to look up or acknowledge my question. Her nonchalant behavior irritated me. I wanted answers, but it seemed like nobody was willing to provide them.I was really frustrated, "Are you guys mad at me or something? Talk to me, if I did something wrong… tell me, I hate the silence." I said again, but still no response. After a
Dorian Grimaldi.A restless week had crawled by, weighed down by the anguish and fear that clutched my heart. The memory of Eden's abduction by the hunters haunted my every waking moment, fueling my relentless determination to bring her back unharmed. The pain of her absence gnawed at me, making each passing second feel like an eternity. But now, against all odds, we had reached an agreement—a fragile truce born from Eden's courageous negotiations. As the Alpha King, the weight of responsibility pressed heavily upon my shoulders. The safety of our pack rested on the delicate threads of this newfound alliance. The hunters, once our sworn enemies, were now our reluctant allies, bound by a shared understanding of the dangers that lurked in the shadows.Within the pack, whispers echoed through the corridors of our territory, carrying the news of the agreement that Eden had orchestrated. Some greeted the news with hope, their weary hearts yearning for peace and a chance to rebuild what had
Eden Monroe. I glanced around, taking in the furious expressions etched on the faces of the people gathered in the forest, with Dorian standing out as the embodiment of imminent chaos. His intense gaze scanned my body, searching for any signs of injury or harm inflicted upon me."Don't worry, Dorian. I'm alright. They didn't lay a finger on me," I reassured him, my voice steady despite the tumultuous atmosphere."How can I be sure they won't hurt you?" Dorian erupted with anger, his voice booming through the forest, carrying his concerns on the wind.My heart skipped a beat as I felt the waves of his emotions crashing against me. I reached out, my hand trembling slightly, wanting to calm the tempest brewing within him. "Dorian, I understand your fear, but you have to trust me. They won't harm me."His eyes blazed with a fiery mix of concern and rage, his voice tinged with desperation. "Look at them, Eden! They're like a pack of fools, hungry for blood!""Hey! Dorian Grimaldi. After what seemed like forever, I finally had the crown on my head and became the new Alpha King. The people bowed down to show respect, and they all shouted, "Long live the king" together.Yet, a disquieting restlessness stirred within the depths of my being, an unsettling void that gnawed at my insides. My wolf, an instinctual creature of the wild, sensed an absence, a void in our shared bond, and it troubled me deeply.Searching the sea of faces, my eyes yearned for the presence of the one person who was meant to stand beside me on this momentous occasion. But she was nowhere to be found, like a fleeting dream that evaporates with the first rays of dawn. Where could she be? What could have caused her to be absent during this pivotal juncture?I looked around, hoping to see my Eden standing beside me on the stage, but she was nowhere to be found. My wolf felt restless, and I couldn't understand what was happening.I saw Gustavo standing with his mate, Ben, but my m
Eden Monroe.I hurriedly made my way towards Ben, who stood at the front, my mind still plagued by unsettling thoughts. "Hey, Ben," I called out, desperately seeking his attention."Yeah, Queen. What's up?" he responded, addressing me by the new title that would soon be bestowed upon me."Funny. I need to talk to you," I replied, urgency lacing every word, my tone betraying my inner turmoil."Are you okay? Cold feet? You don't want to be queen?" Ben inquired, his eyes filled with concern."No, it's not that... Ugh, just please, be serious for once. This is really important," I pleaded, my voice tinged with frustration.Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Ben guided me to a secluded corridor in the bustling hall. "Alright, now tell me, what's the problem?" he asked, his voice lowering as if to match the intensity of the situation.Taking a deep breath, I relayed to him everything I had overheard from the conversation of those I accidentally eavesdropped on."Wait, did you just sa
Dorian Grimaldi. The night had descended, casting an eerie ambiance over the grand mansion. The air was thick with anticipation, but the atmosphere felt different from the previous ball. Instead of joyous faces, I was met with stern expressions as guests made their way through the ornate entrance.Taking my place at the entrance, I stood tall, flanked by Ben, my trusted companion. Adorned in a gown fit for a queen, my dress for the coronation exuded elegance and regality. The fabric, a shimmering midnight blue, flowed gracefully around me, cascading in gentle waves. Its ethereal quality captured the moonlight, creating an enchanting display as I moved. The gown hugged my frame, accentuating my curves while allowing for ease of movement.Intricate silver embroidery adorned the bodice, tracing delicate patterns. Each stitch was meticulously crafted, adding a touch of celestial beauty to the ensemble. The neckline, adorned with a scattering of opalescent beads, caught the light, creating
Dorian Grimaldi. The day of my placement as Alpha king had finally arrived, and the atmosphere in the pack house crackled with anticipation. The halls were teeming with werewolves, their energy palpable as they hurriedly prepared for the momentous coronation. I could sense the eyes of my pack members upon me, their expectations weighing heavily on my shoulders.Lost in my thoughts, I stood in the midst of the bustling crowd when Gustavo, my steadfast beta, approached me with a grave expression. He handed me a letter, and as I perused its contents, my initial disbelief gave way to a steely resolve. The Mendalv clan, our once dependable allies, had chosen to sever their ties with the werewolf community, leaving us vulnerable and without a safety net.I read through the details of the letter, my face a mask of indifference, though inside, a storm brewed. Gustavo's voice held a tinge of urgency as he stressed the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the absence of a backup plan should th
EDEN MONROEAs my eyes slowly fluttered open, the warm rays of the sun caressed my face, nudging me from the realm of dreams into the waking world. Instinctively, I turned to shield myself from the intrusive light, only to find myself mere inches away from Dorian, whose eyes gleamed with a mischievous spark. The sight of him, wide awake and undeniably handsome, sent a jolt of surprise coursing through my veins."Oh, you're awake now?" I muttered, my voice laced with a mix of grogginess and playful annoyance.Dorian's lips curled into a knowing smile, his voice filled with teasing amusement. "I never slept, you see. Someone kept me up all night," he replied, his tone dripping with playful insinuation.A blush erupted across my cheeks, the heat spreading like wildfire down my neck and into the depths of my being. Caught off guard by his remark, I stammered, "I-I... well, that's not... I mean… I did not."Dorian's laughter rumbled in his chest, a deep, melodious sound that washed over me
Dorian Grimaldi. The dense forest beckoned me with its verdant embrace, my paws propelling me forward with relentless determination. The ethereal breeze whispered through the towering trees, tenderly caressing my sleek fur as I dashed through the underbrush. A symphony of sounds enveloped me—the rustling leaves, the melodic chirping of birds, and the distant echo of my wolf's triumphant howl. Each step I took sent a thrilling pulse through my veins, heightening the adrenaline coursing through my lupine form.As I neared my hidden sanctuary, a sense of anticipation mingled with the primal instincts that guided my every move. The forest seemed to hold its breath, as if aware of the impending encounter that awaited me. And then, like a whisper in the wind, I heard voices—two distinct voices—tantalizingly close. With the grace of a predator stalking its prey, I slowed my pace, a silent predator navigating the shadowed realm of the forest. My keen senses heightened, I cautiously approached
Dorian Grimaldi. As I strolled down the dimly lit corridor, the weight of the earlier confrontation with my mother still lingered in the air, gnawing at my insides. The atmosphere seemed to mirror my unease, with shadows dancing ominously along the walls, creating an eerie backdrop to my troubled thoughts.Just as despair threatened to consume me entirely, a flicker of movement caught my attention. My eyes darted to the end of the hallway, where Ben and Jasmine were engaged in a frantic dash. Their figures glided effortlessly through the gloom, their silhouettes radiating a sense of urgency that piqued my curiosity.Desperate to intercept them before they disappeared from sight, I called out to them, my voice laced with a mix of concern and longing. "Ben! Jasmine!" I yelled, my words floating through the air like a whispered plea, hoping to halt their hasty retreat. Yet, the echoes of my voice seemed swallowed by the ominous silence that enveloped the corridor.Undeterred, I quickene
