Today is an important day, so the national museum displays many antiques of great value. From the gate, security forces check visitors; there are also many careful guards around and inside the museum.
The National Museum in the city center has a classical style with elaborately carved granite pillars; giant paintings painted hundreds of years ago on the curved domes.
Uri wore oversized sunglasses that covered most of his face; he was standing in the crowd lined up in front of the museum's entrance, waiting to get inside. He looked around and was pretty relieved when he did not see the appearance of men with red leaf-shaped badges on their lapels. He tried to stay calm, like a resident visiting a museum.
After presenting his ID card, he went through the gate very smoothly and followed the group of visitors into the large hall of the museum, here displaying many artifacts with a long history. The museum was large, and it took him a long time to find a place to display the ancient book, so he separated from the crowd and quickly went to other galleries.
He passed several rooms and long corridors displaying ancient statues leading down to the museum's basement. At last, he saw a large, brightly lit room with a sign on the door saying "special gallery." He happily approached; most likely, this is where the museum's most valuable treasures are displayed.
As he expected, this is a place to display precious antiquities that are national treasures. But what worries him is that standing next to each artifact is a bodyguard armed with a gun and an electric baton.
He calmly walked into the room and glanced at the bodyguards standing like statues beside the display cases. He just ran faster than humans, and those bodyguards were more potent than him. Furthermore, they had guns and electric batons, so he didn't dare act; maybe he couldn't do anything today but look at the book in the glass case.
In the room, there were already a lot of visitors who were looking at the artifacts. Because on days like this, they have the opportunity to admire the national treasure.
Uri approached a glass case displaying a splendid crown of gold studded with diamonds and precious stones, the crown of a king who reigned over a thousand years ago.
He didn't care about these artifacts but needed to behave like other visitors, going through the treasures displayed in this particular room.
Uri glanced through the other glass cabinets, but he hadn't found the book when someone pulled his sleeve.
"Did you come here looking for it too?"
Uri recognized Anthea's voice. He turned to look; she was standing behind him, her face showing excitement and curiosity.
"I've seen it. It's over there." She whispered, then surreptitiously pointed to a corner of the room. "Do you want to go there?"
"What did you come here for?" Uri was surprised.
"I heard you and our father talking about that book, so I wanted to come to see it too." She answered and pulled Uri's hand toward a glass cabinet in the corner of the gallery.
When he saw the book made of gold foil, Uri felt like he couldn't breathe. He approached the glass cabinet, peering at the book displayed inside. But unfortunately, what he could see were only the words engraved on the gold plate, which was the book's name.
"I checked it once; they don't let visitors see what's inside, so what should we do?" Anthea stood close to Uri, whispering to him.
"If we want to read it, we must take it out," Uri replied softly, his eyes still on the book in the glass case. "I haven't figured out how to get it yet."
"Hey guys, go see other artifacts, don't just stand here and look at one artifact."
The nearby guard approached and spoke up when he saw Uri and Anthea standing in front of the display case for too long.
Uri hurriedly dragged Anthea to the display case of other treasures. "Let's not draw attention."
Uri looked around the room full of visitors. He knew surveillance cameras and bodyguards were standing around, so he didn't know how to read those pages.
"I think we should get out of here; we should consult Dad." Uri grabbed Anthea's hand and walked quickly towards the door; he didn't want to stay in a crowded place like this.
When Uri and Anthea went to the door, all the lights in the museum went out. The gallery has no windows and is located deep in the museum's basement. Hence, darkness immediately enveloped the room, causing visitors to cry out fearfully, and chaotic footsteps echoed everywhere.
The bodyguards hurriedly shouted to the visitors to stand still. Everyone in the room immediately stood still and did not dare to move, leaving the room with only the sound of breathing.
The others couldn't see anything, but Uri could see clearly in the dark. So he saw the bodyguards standing next to the treasure display cabinets, quickly put infrared glasses on their eyes, and opened the display cabinets to take all the precious treasures into their bags and take them out of the gallery.
All their actions were swift. While the lights went out, all the treasures that had followed them disappeared. Uri watched impatiently as the man carried the bag containing the ancient golden book; he couldn't let him take it.
"You should stand here. When the museum has electricity, go home immediately." Uri whispered in Anthea's ear.
"How about you?" She held onto his hand, worried.
"There is a group of bandits who have stolen all the treasures in this room; I have to follow them to get the book back." Uri patted her hand reassuringly. "You're just a visitor, so there won't be any danger, I need to go now, or they'll run away."
Anthea nodded and stood still. She tried to listen to the sounds around her to determine if the people nearby were still standing or moving.
After leaving the gallery, Uri dashed toward the men in bodyguard uniforms who had stolen the precious treasures. They seem to have a lot of experience, so they move quickly through the dark corridor without any problems. They reached the back door in a few moments and boarded a black car waiting outside, leaving the museum.
Uri couldn't think much; he just knew what he needed was stolen. He immediately ran after that car, and with his ability, he followed closely behind the car without letting them detect him.
The car drove around and stopped in front of a dilapidated house. As soon as the people in the car got off, Uri rushed to snatch the treasure bag in the hand of the man who took the ancient book. He used all his strength to run as fast as the bandits shouted and cursed.
Just a moment later, he ran into the familiar forest. Behind him, there were no cars to follow. Perhaps the other people did not dare to chase him because they were bandits, unable to track him openly.
Finn was still standing on a tall tree branch waiting for Uri to return. He was extremely impatient, so when he saw Uri appear, he immediately jumped to the ground to meet him.
Uri arrived at the wooden house, opened the bag, and dumped everything on the table. In addition to the golden book, there were several other precious treasures."How did you get them?" Finn looked at the treasures on the table in amazement."Just when I arrived at the museum, a group of robbers stole these treasures. I followed and took the treasure from them." Uri replied.Finn picked up the book; it was gold, so even though it was about the size of a paper book, it was pretty heavy. "Is this the book you want?""That's it." Uri happily replied. "Just when I couldn't think of a way to read it, someone stole it.""Fortunately, so let's see what's inside this book." Finn began to turn the pages.Although the ancient script was difficult to read, Uri and Finn understood it. This book recounts the war between humans and demons three thousand years ago. Then Genesis drove the demons back to their dark world, and humans became the masters of the earth."This is the war between the humans
Uri immediately stuffed all the artifacts into his backpack and slung it over his shoulder, dragging Clement outside. But Clement jerked his hand back, pushing Uri to the door."You and Finn go now; they are besieging the area. They dare not do anything to me, don't worry about me; protect yourself!""Your father is right; let him stay here. They dare not harm him. We need to get out of here; I feel many people are coming." Finn said, then took Uri's hand and ran fast into the dense forest.Moments later, a group of about twenty men approached and surrounded him when Clement had gone a short distance from the log house. A scar-faced man led the group, who wore red leaf badges on their lapels."Hello, Clement." Richard crossed his arms and stood in front of Clement. "Oh, hello Richard, what are you doing here?" Clement paused, calmly looking at Richard and the group of people surrounding him.Richard sneered, "So what are you here for?""I go for a walk," Clement replied. "Is it illeg
Uri appeared to Clement's astonishment and fear. He rushed forward and pushed Uri away, and shouted:"Get out of here now!"Uri didn't do what Clement wanted; he looked at Richard resolutely. "I have come at your request. Let go of my sister!""Very good!" Richard laughed. "We will release your sister. But I don't trust you and your father. If you want to save your sister, you must let us give you an anesthetic.""Can not," Clement shouted. "Uri, they are liars; you must not believe them. Get out of here now!""Dad!" Uri looked at Clement. "Thank you for worrying about me. But I don't want Anthea to go to prison. I want to save her.""I won't let you do that; I can think of another way." Clement grabbed Uri. "Let's go now!"Two men rushed over and grabbed Clement's hands. He angrily twisted his elbow and hit a man in the stomach. The two men immediately restrained him with force, pinned him to the ground, and clasped his hands behind his back.Richard walked in front of Uri, smiling.
Uri doesn't need to wait for a long time. After he woke up, the door of the room opened. In front of the door appeared two men wearing white suits, white shoes, and white hats covering their faces, looking very similar to the clothes of the staff in the laboratory. They silently entered the room and pushed out the bed that Uri was lying on. It is the type of bed usually used in the hospital emergency room; the four legs of the bed have wheels for easy movement.Uri looked up at the two men and asked:"Where are you taking me?"The two men didn't seem to hear him; they didn't answer but silently pushed the bed along a corridor lit only by a few electric light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. The hallway had no windows, only light from electric bulbs, so Uri didn't know if it was day or night. The sound of wheels grinding against the brickwork and the electric light strained his spirits.Uri felt that the corridor seemed to lead underground because the path was sloping down and revolved
On the highway, a white car sped in the afternoon sun towards the city of Dawn. The driver was a middle-aged man wearing a navy blue jacket; on the back seat was a young man about eighteen years old wearing a black coat, shoulder backpack, and silver hair messed up by the wind from the car window. "Uri!" The man nervously looked at the eight-lane highway in front of him. "Someone wants to arrest you; they even want to kill you. If you see them, you must run fast, don't let them catch you." The young man named Uri leaned forward in surprise, looking at the man. "Dad, I'm not breaking the law. Why do they want to arrest me?" The man said quickly: "Now there is not much time, listen carefully, if someone is chasing you, try to run into the forest, find our wooden house and wait there; I will come to find you, then I'll explain everything." Suddenly the man's hands trembled, his eyes widened, and he looked straight ahead, panicking: "Uri, they block the front. Turn off your phone, don
The morning sun shining down on the forest and birds chirping woke Uri up. Although he only slept a little in the early morning, his health had completely recovered. He stretched and sat up dreamily, looking around. It took him a while to realize where he was and what had happened. Sighing, he splashes water on his face to wake up, then takes out a packet of cookies from his backpack and eats it. The dry crackers were nothing like the delicious hot breakfast Mrs. Jane had, which his mother made for him and his sister every morning. After eating, Uri jumped off the tree branch and started moving forward. He had to find the wooden house he and Clement had built three years ago to shelter from the harsh summer sun. The wooden house is very close to a small stream, surrounded by a fence of climbing roses, and inside there is a small courtyard. In this dense forest, Uri could not locate him. The fastest way to know the location was to open the phone to locate, but if he did, he would ind
Egan took Uri very deep into the forest until a waterfall fell from the top of the mountain to stop. "Our abode is behind this waterfall; join me in it." Uri looked at the tall waterfall with white foam, not knowing what was behind it. Egan pointed to a ledge in the middle of the waterfall. "You see that ledge over there? There is a cave door. You should be like me." He jumped straight into the waterfall and disappeared behind it. The height from the ground to the ledge was very high. Uri had never tried to jump that high, so he was a bit scared. But Egan can do it; indeed, he can too. He took the momentum to plunge into the waterfall exactly where Egan had just jumped. The water poured down and soaked his clothes when he crossed the waterfall. Fortunately, he landed on the wet ground in the mountain cave behind the waterfall. The cave is vast; inside, there is only darkness and the sound of Egan's footsteps. Uri could see everything clearly in the dark and quickly followed Egan
Finn and Uri walked for a long time until they reached the wooden house next to the small stream, so obscured by the trees that it was difficult to spot. The house was in the dark; the vines covered the walls, the fence fell, and dry leaves covered the courtyard. Finn carefully traced the vines, opening the wooden door enough for one person to slip in. Uri followed him into the house; inside was full of beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs, and a small kitchen. "My dad hasn't been here yet." Uri took the candles from the cupboard and pulled a lighter from her pocket. Finn held his hand. "Don't light candles. We can see in the dark; the light will make it easier for humans to spot this place." Uri paused; it had only been a day that he had forgotten about the need to run away from pursuing a strange organization called Red Leaves. "I forgot. Sorry!" "There's no need to apologize because you're not used to a life of always hiding like me." Finn looked anxiously out into the dark fore

Uri turned the pages of the ancient book; he had read carefully the books Anthea had brought. The content of the two books about vampires was similar to what he had read in school. And in particular, there is no information that the Red Leaf organization has hidden. As for the book about the creator god, there were some important information, so he wanted to ask Clement. Half a month later, Clement and Anthea arrived at the bungalow in Uri's impatience and anticipation, this time, they also brought him lots of food. Sitting in a wooden house without candlelight, Anthea hugged Uri's arm in fear. "Why don't you light a candle? I'm afraid of the dark." "Should not." Clement immediately objected. "Having light will easily attract the attention of others. Your brother, his friend, and I are here; what are you afraid of?" Anthea did not dare to ask for more. She sat quietly beside Uri, listening to the stories of the men. "In the book about the creator god, I saw a passage about how m
Uri stayed in the mountain cave for two days, then returned to the wooden house. It was his rendezvous with Clement, so he wanted to be there often so he could see Clement when he arrived. Finn continues to accompany Uri to the wooden house. After all, Uri was still an inexperienced child; he desperately needed help from others. With his extensive experience, Finn and Uri carefully inspect the forest; he wants to help Uri get used to how to protect himself. After ensuring there weren't any strangers in the woods, they went to the wooden house. From that day on, Uri went to the edge of the forest every night and hid in the treetops waiting for Clement's arrival. Finn doesn't stop him; he sympathizes with Uri's feelings. It was late at night, and the dew fell on the trees, making the air cold. Finn jumped onto a high branch, standing beside Uri. He looked at the empty road that ran through the forest, sighed, and said: "It's late at night; your father isn't here. We should go back t
After reaching the edge of the forest, Clement drove the car he had hidden in a nearby bush, leaving the forest. Uri jumped on a tall tree and watched until the car disappeared on the road leading to the city."Let's go. Even if you want, you can't live with your family; we must accept this fact." Finn jumped up and stood beside Uri on the tree branch, admonishing.Uri's gaze did not leave the tall buildings of the distant city. The city was where he had lived all these years. There he had family, friends, and dreams of attending medical school and becoming a doctor."I want to go home." Uri snorted, trying not to let the tears flow.Finn patted Uri on the shoulder. "Calm down. We all want to live happily like humans. But you know, they don't want us to exist."Uri lowered his eyes; he understood that. He didn't want to accept this cruel truth. But now, there was nothing he could do, and he sadly followed Finn back to the dense forest.Returning to the wooden house, Uri opened his bac
Finn was silent for a moment, carefully choosing his words before continuing:"After the dimensional portal closed, not only did Prince Nolan and his minions remain on earth, some distant vampires did not receive the information, nor were they able to arrive in time to pass through the portal.""The prince has gathered everyone to the castle in the mountains to fight together against humanity's revenge. One night, the prince heard the voice of the Creator. He told the prince that he had left the key to the space portal. If we find it, we have a chance to reach a new land.""The key to the space gate?" Uri whispered in surprise. "Is there that key?""I don't know, but we believe in it to have a living hope, better than no hope," Finn replied sadly.Uri thought for a moment, then wondered. "For three thousand years, no one has found that key. Why don't you guys find another way?""Our previous generations sought to compromise with humanity so that we could live peacefully with them. But
