Chapter 5: Pandora system, let’s hit the tutorial phase!

Yep… I think I just lost the already nonexistent affection of the Duke and his son…

That’s how I ended up here, alone in this big shabby and dirty side building. At the very least I can take advantage of this situation to familiarize myself with the situation I am in right now, the whole Abyss Harold thing I mean…

To summarize, I died and got reincarnated as a character from an RPG I used to play at my free time back when I was a company lawyer…

The character I have been reincarnated as is called “Satiana Von Evanson”.

White silver hair and Ember eyes, what you can call proudly a true beauty, even though I am still 16.

I looked at my face on a dirty mirror glass after removing the sheet that was covering it.

And the reflection showed something else… The silver white hair was tainted in a glimmering pitch black color, and the once ember eyes the color of the setting sun, turned unto a pair of blood moons like eyes… glistering and piercing like if they were made of polished rubies. The facial features and the body features all remained the same…

So that reflection on the wine was not an illusion? But why is my reflection like this? Is it related to me being the Harold of the abyss?

<Seriously… this whole thing is so confusing! Between the system, the powers and blessings, the duties and the quests… it was already shambled enough! And now my reflection is damn hot and thrilling?! What the hell universe?! At least give me a tutorial, or a book or something>

I bitched at it for a moment… when suddenly a message from heaven, more precisely from the abyss appeared before me trough the Pandora System window!

Wow… Abyss you, you would make a perfect game moderator, bug issues would be a problem of the past at this rate!

That’s when a multitude of windows appeared in front of me, with each one of them containing detailed information about each and every feature of the system.

The main window of the tutorial explained that the Pandora system is modulated to suit perfectly the host, which answers perfectly why it looks like a game interface…

The interface had different features, which include the Status window, the Skill tree, the Affinity interface, and a quest book, all of them were explained easily and in details on the tutorial windows, it event taught me how to use each of the systems modules!

The status window showed two types of status, those of the Physical body which were so lame… except for intelligence compared to the Soul Status that showed clearly that my soul is very much not ordinary.

It appears that I can make my stats rise trough specific actions… for example physical training, studying or practicing magic!

The Skill tree showed different type of skills, the main skills and the sub skills as well as the sole skills.

Main skills are divided into sub skills, sole skills can be called main but they don’t have any sub skills.

And by the look at it… all my skills are either intellectual or centered on magic! The top main skill is called [Magic Mastery].

This skill description is to put it simply the ability to use magic and control it, in other words, without this skill using magic is a dream that cannot become true.

I also have a main skill at the same level of magic mastery… It’s called [Evil Eye]!

The description of this skill explains that’s it’s something no creature apart from high ranking beings would have! An optimal skill that in itself alone is a jewel! But also it can be used with other magic as a medium which makes this skill a UNIQUE skill! And something that would make an otaku and avid fan girl like me in a state euphoria!

Anyway there are many more skills right here, and the system says that magic is different from a person to another and that the skills are a reflection of the soul and a manifestation of its power, so since each soul is different that means that my growth and mastery completely depend on my actions.

Next is the affinity interface… now you can say that this is something that comes out of a cultivation manga…

It says that each soul has affinities; either it is the reflection of a personality, a natural compatibility or harmony or trough a blessing…

I have … more than what I expected… Some are natural; some are from the Abyss blessing. I have the following:

Dark, Space, Chaos, Order, Craft, Read, Recover, Time, Corrosion, Apply, Mental, Physical.

These are the affinities I have… you can already guess that many are given by the blessing, others are from me.

Affinities affect the growth of one’s status and skill tree. They are used to control magic more easily and magnify its potential. That means you can perfectly use magic without affinities but you will need to add more work on it.

Next is the Quest Book! A list of quests to achieve with an achievement list that seems to be some kind of challenge and moral boost with gifts and rewards that will be given once completed.

The quests that show up on this list are the [Duty from the Abyss] which describes the goal of sending me here

The [Gain the Duke favor and parental love!] that seem to be still ongoing… to my surprise seems like I’ll have to be serious about having his affection soon… after all the more cards I have in my hand the better…

That was all for the System features, but the tutorial didn’t finish yet! It was as if it just started…

Because the true practice have just started!

You cannot use a skill by just clicking on it or saying it out loud, no! That’s something qualified to be called cheating!

To use a skill you need to know how! After all you know what they say; to do something you need two things! First the know What and the Know How! You need to understand the thing, know what it is and what it can do then to know how to use it and make use of its capabilities!

Knowledge is power no matter what! That is the only true power a consciousness truly has!

Be it in this world or earth, Abyss Harold or not, noble lady or a servant, a man or a woman, knowledge is the only true tool one can use!

Of course it depends on how you use that knowledge; so let’s try using it right now shall we?

The tutorial explained how to use mana which is the mother of all energies to manifest magic!

Mana is the energy of the soul; it can scatter and can also gather. The stronger ones souls is the more mana they have!

Mana can manifest as a life form, a magic spell or even a body aura! Seriously I am amazed about how cool this whole thing is!

I put everything that I have learned from the tutorial into use and tried to cast a spell…

First step to gather my mana and stimulate it, make it flow and gather, then use your will t give it a shape!

I want to use the Space magic I have… for some reason I just simply want to use, I also applied the pace affinity to it when it appeared in my mind like a flash…  what do I want from this magic to do…the magic that rules over space… space, something like the motion? The structure? The force and the energy?  What if I use it to apply force, a vector of force that goes forward, a push, like if I pushed that chair over there with my hand… and it moved!

Suddenly the chair in front of me moved by a mysterious force that agitated the air a little around me… like an invisible hand punched the chair and pushed it a few meters to the corner of the room…

<Did I just… use magic and pushed it?>

I made the same process of thoughts but this time to pull it, and it worked…!

 <Sweet abyss, this is amazing! Newton and Einstein are probably crying in their graves right now for missing this but seriously… THIS ROCKS!>

The potential I have right now is wide! I want to know more and to use it more! Magic that is! Lets practice inside this side building alone and learn more about this power!

After all I already said this but the more cards the better Ho Ho Ho

And so I ended up immersing myself in magic practice for the entire day going through each and every skill out of curiosity until I collapsed and was carried to bed in the annex by the maid that came to bring food…
