Chapter 4: Face to face, a memory refreshing encounter of the unwanted and the Silver haired Duke

I put on a sky blue dress with light sapphire jewelries and some light make up, and I didn’t put any corset because that thing is a torture! I felt like my guts about to burst out and my bones about to snap any moment! Torturing myself for such a thing? That hurt! Why would I do that?!

Anyway I left for the drawing room where two silver haired men were sitting each on a couch drinking tea.

One of them was the Duke of Evanson, Cassius; the other was someone whom is the spitting image of the duke

Handsome with a stoic face that look like that of Cassius but much more young! And add to the sauce a similar personality, arrogant, noble and a deeper hate toward Satiana that his daddy

Well that is something to be expected of the one whom also liked his kind mother that died because of a newborn child.

For them Satiana, me is the one at fault, but truth to be told, it’s the fault of their lack in knowledge and techniques and proper gynecologist  don’t blame a kid for your own incompetence and lack of power  to protect my mom before she could even hold me you know?!

<You finally came down, not too early>

Can’t he at least say good morning?

<Good morning to you too, brother, your grace the duke.>

His expression twisted for a moment some may not have saw it but for me it was wide clear like the sun on a summer day wide clear sky. Are they surprised by the change of character, already?

Well now that I think more about it, it is indeed an expected reaction, after all Satiana without her past life memories I but a foolish coward little missy.

She would shrink in size and tremble like a mice standing in front of big cats, powerless and afraid.

After all, whenever they saw her, they would simply treat her coldly or like trash. Like a sworn enemy, hated and despised for the simple reason, her birth.

Just by standing in front of them I can feel one of my halves, a part of me, afraid and on alert. Flashbacks of memories, scenes of a past that same half had to endure, overwhelming me and flooding my consciousness making me struggle to keep my composure.

That same duke, proud and noble, praised in high society, would lose his composure from time to time and call his own flesh and blood, a girl in her young age, murderer.

This same man, would from time to time, drown himself in liquor and stare at the girls face while saying with a cold expression full of resentments and sorrow “Why was it not you who died that day?”

His voice is still ringing and resonating in my head… its making me sick

But I need to keep calm no matter what… I cannot afford to lose my composure, not even for a moment!

<Sorry for making you wait, your grace and elder brother, I have come as you have requested this morning>

<Sit down already and tell us, what are your powers?>

Going straight to the main subject? Can’t afford to spend too much time talking with me Hein?

<Powers? Pardon me your grace but… what do you mean by that?>

Act like a fool me until the right time when you can strike down thee people when they leave there defense down.

Anyway, this might be a bit problematic… I have no intention of telling them my power is to influence minds…

If I said that they surely will try to take advantage of me like Satiana of the Role play game, of course by using me I mean turning me into a tool for their own revenge and schemes, enslaving me for her own benefit! I cannot let that happen…

Hey! System! I need your help here…

<Don’t try to lie to Father or me, you suddenly collapsed with your eyes shining after returning from your outing, if that was not an awakening then I don’t know what was>

Ah, right! Satiana’s outing that day, she or we went out to buy some new clothes and enjoy the new sweets shop, when she or we met with the crown prince on a date with a brown haired emerald eyed girl.

Satiana, whom pestered the own prince to go on a date with him to that same sweets shop, was devastated when she saw them sharing a lovely time enjoy and laughter with the crown prince smiling from the bottom of his heart.

She asked why? Why her and not me! Why is he caring about her and loving her, showing those expressions to her, she must have used some kind of charm! If I had such a power… to take over his mind and making him all mine, then I am sure he will learn to love me! Then that wench won’t stand a chance on the way of our true love!

With those kind of thoughts and desires, it was obvious that the power that would she would awaken would be on the psychic branch. After she did try to use some witchcraft to make him fall for her… of course it didn’t work and yet here we are now.

<Then, speak! What are the powers that you have awakened>

The young mater of the house spoke with a mocking tone, looking down upon Satiana’s

A message appeared before me, it appears to be that I only am able to see this window… and the message it carried.

<I am afraid I don’t know, your grace. I had no idea about awakening any power, I have yet to recall or sense, but I do not feel anything abnormal>

That’s a lie… I feel like I can think ten times faster than normal! And much more… like the sense of the surrounding space became times and times more… clear and precise!

But well, I cannot say that out loud , after all it will make all the fun stuff that I am preparing for, go for not.

The power granted by the abyss… I’ll make to use it well, just prepare for it! For I have more than one hidden card in my sleeves!

But of course… hiding it would come to a price! And that is the dissatisfaction of a certain duke and his son…

<Impudent! Useless girl! Failing even at completing your own late awakening, something that not even a child would fail at! Not even at the age of six!>

He busted in a state of anger, throwing the cup of liquor at my face barely evaded it, debris of glass smashed on the floor in a pool of spilled wine slowly crawling towards my feet.

Lowering my head as I begged for forgiveness, I could see my reflection on the surface of the spilled wine…

Pitch black hair instead of the silver white, a pair of glistering crimson eyes like soaring blood moons made of ruby jewels, and a smirk that could send a chill down the spine of a war soldier.

<Get out! Get out of here right now and leave my sight! And from now on, you shall be confined in the annex alone! No servant or guard shall attend to you until I give you permission!>

The servants dragged her out of the drawing room all the way to the dirty and shabby annex where they shut the doors, confining her from getting out.

Well that could have gone worst…
