53| Sister's advise

Derrick stood up from the stool he was seated beside the bar in his sitting room. He was having a glass cup of wine and dropped it to check on who was there.

Approaching the door, Derrick pulled it open and saw his immediate elder sister, Nicole standing there with her baby in her arms.

"Can I come in?" Nicole asked with a smile curved up her lips.

"Yes, come in," Derrick replied, moving away from the door as he went back to sit drinking.

Nicole knew her brother was going through a hard time. He had never taken a liking for any of the maids before. She would soon be going home, so she came to see Derrick first.

Derrick sat on the stool, his back facing his sister as he resumed drinking.

"I'm already going home, and I just came to tell you goodbye," Nicole said, and Derrick remained quiet.

Derrick had thought that his elder sister came to scold him, but the reverse was the case.
